With 2014s packed release schedule from Nintendo, I'm really thinking that 3rd party games WON'T sell anyway, not among Nintendo's own games. If you put Mario Kart 8 and Watch Dogs next to each other in front of a Wii U owner, and told them which one they would like to buy, they're going to pick Mario Kart 8...

Yes, because everybody likes every genre of games.

I'm not saying no one wants Watch Dogs, I'm saying Wii U owners are going to make some obvious choices this year, lol
i honestly haven't even heard much about this game, but it does sound kind of cool now. im really bad for mostly getting nintendo games only. im also a cheap a$$, so i dont mind spending like 5-10 bucks in the eshop on a 3rd party title i dont know for sure if i'll like, but a full 60 bucks is a lot. plus now that i'm old i just dont have the free time to sink hours and hours into a game everyday and get through it. i have tons of games i get a ways into, then by the time i get a chance to play again have no idea whats going on and dont want to restart and ahve all that time wasted. i am excited for bayonetta 2 though
So what's the list of AAA 3rd party games Wii U isnt getting look like? MGS and Destiny is all that's on my radar. Do MLB the Show and Madden count? Lego, Disney, Skyanders and Just Dance sell a lot and will continue to do so on the Wii U but I suppose they aren't AAA.
So what's this AAA list look like besides MGS and Destiny and maybe BGE2 that we are supposed to be worried about missing out on?
For the record I think W_D might skip Wii U due to online issues, and possibly PS3 and Xbox360 due to PS4 and X1 selling well. They've been so quiet, something must be going on. Maybe MS is paying them for exclusivity. Gotta do something w/ Ballmer's salary. Didn't MS already pay for Rayman's multplat delay?
Someday we'll find it

I'm a Wii U Owner and I would probably pick Watch Dogs
I feel like third parties don't want to compete with Nintendo's first party line in the first place. That said, I'll probably buy Watch Dogs on Wii U instead of PS3. I feel like it's important to support the third party releases that are on the Wii U.
Once Nintendo ups their game a bit and sells more units and improves the game lineup... third parties might boomerang back. They need to get EA back on board. Say what you want about EA, but they are important. There are people who buy the new Madden/Fifa/NHL every single year. Not having those sports games hurts.

In terms of multi-console stuff that isn't just last gen ports, off the top of my head is Witcher 3, KH3, FFXV, Ubisoft's big online multiplayer games, and Mirror's Edge 2, in terms of games I've seen anything even resembling gameplay from.
I like a decent chunk of the 360's games but even still that type of lineup doesn't do anything for me outside of a Mirror's Edge sequel at least (which I doubt will come out this year)...though I get why people would love most of these games almost by default if they at all live up to what we're seeing. Though this is fitting for me as I felt the previous HD consoles had the most overrated lineup ever in their early years.
also I would get Watch_Dogs over Mario Kart 8 on Wii U as Watch_Dogs is actually interesting.

Well, on Ubisoft's website the WiiU version is still there. Moreover, it doesn't make sense to work many years on the WiiU version and then throw it away only a few months before the release.

To sum up, my opinion is: fake.
It may not be fake, I have worked in a Game Store before and if your higher ups tell you to try to get more pre-orders on a different systems this can happen. I don't think the game is canceled for Wii U but I wouldn't put it past someone to hold a pre-order contest for most Watch_Dogs pre-orders on Xbox One and PS4. That could cause some employees to tell people it has been canceled for Wii U.
People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

I wouldn't rule it out based on that, there's has been a few games that were completed and got canned for the Wii U.
