I don't think you can compare this to New Super Luigi U. NSLU had the same gameplay as NSMU, this game is very different from 3D World. It's obviously based on the Captain Toad stages, but it seems they've expanded a lot on that concept. I'm a fan of puzzle games, so I'm looking forward to this.
I like that Nintendo is taking the concept and taking it further. It's almost like a new IP except with a familiar character.
Who would have thought that we would see Toad getting his own game?
I wonder how this is going to sell though. I thought for sure this was going to be eShop only.
I'm absolutely getting this, based on Treehouse demo. They have put lots of work into this obviously. The first person view on the GamePad in the cart was cool.
At first I thought this was just a lame spin-off that didn't deserve its own game, but this game actually looks like more fun than any Mario platformer, so I might get it, even though I don't really like Toad all that much because of his voice.
I love Toad so I'm really excited for this game! I thought it was a nice surprise, I only hope it has a level of difficulty similar to DKC:TF

Very nice surprise - I really enjoyed the Super Mario 3D World levels. Toad is my daughter's favourite Mario character so I'm sure she'll be excited about this too!
@cookiex: That was my impression as well when I looked at the Treehouse Live gameplay.
@DestinyMan: It's developed by the Tokyo EAD, so I assume it's the same team as for 3D World (the Galaxy team). It seems like they continue with the "beat what we did last time" approach regarding the presentation.

You are lucky because along with 2D Platformers there are loads of puzzle games. (Not of the Mr Driller type that I like though).

Freedom of the press is for those who happen to own one.
I love the way Toad goes everywhere with a smile. Just look at him in the picture with the Magikoopa! He's smiling his pants off! How can you hit that with a damaging spell?
