Not surprising. They have limited shelf space, and according to what I've heard Gamecube game sales aren't really bringing in that much money any more.
So that means I CAN actually get money for my Gamecube games! Right?! Right?!
why would you want to sell them????
Because soon I won't have a wii to play them on. Trying to sell my stuff to make money for the 3DS.

Okay sure, if you plan on making ~$0.10 per game yeah sell 'em to gamestop.
Game stops all over my area have tons of Legend of Zelda collections not cheap (around 30) but isn't that game suppose to be rare or something??
Its not as rare as the Super Mario All Stars Wii version but there was a limited amount of those made. I believe they were a pack in game with Gamecube a few Christmases ago.
Getting back to the subject. It does sound like your Gamestop is probably getting rid of old stock that doesnt sell well to make room for the 3DS coming out next month.

Ash: Professor Oak, how's your Bulbasaur?
Prof. Oak: Oh, it only hurts when I sit.
...
Prof. Oak: It's only Chansey if Krabby won't let go. Bye, now.
Ash: I don't think I'm going to call him anymore.

Yeah, this is kinda common sense. Used games are always cheaper, and there's usually a bunch, so that makes them even cheaper.
Used games are not always cheaper. Go into any Gamestop and look for used Pokemon games; you will quickly find out that they have actually gone up in price. Sometimes, common sense is wrong.

Methinks you're going to the wrong stores. Every used/older Pokemon game i've ever seen is cheaper in price than it originally was.

I'm not talking about anything other than the main games. Recently, I've found a used copy of SoulSilver in a gamestop with no case, no instruction booklet, no Pokewalker, etc... for $34.99. I've also found Emerald going for $40.00, and Ruby going for $40.00. You may be right, the Gamestops in my area are total cheap-skates, but every GameStop I've been in has had at least one used game for sale at a price higher than retail.

@Robo Weird. I've never seen a used game at any of the Gamestops i go to priced higher than retail. At worst, they'll be only $5 cheaper, but never = or > than retail price.
The only gamecube game they have at gamestop, is Aquaman: Battle for Atlantis
