I don't know if this is old news or not but I was in a GS earlier and decided to check out their Gamecube selection and it looks like they've marked a lot of them down really cheap!
I picked up Star Wars Rebel Assault 2 for 2.99 and noticed many other games in that price range as well like Viewtiful Joe 1&2, Donkey Konga and many others. Sports games for .99-2.99 with the rest of the games around 7.99 and 9.99!
Great time to pick up some older games you missed out on!
Just a few months ago most these games were about 10$ more expensive so it's a fairly recent price drop and pretty significant so I thought some might find it useful.
Thanks for the heads up. I've got most of the better Gamecube games (I have 40) but I'm still missing some decent ones some of which were a bit overpriced before. The only problem is they probably won't be accepting any trade ins anymore so checking back for hard to find games to come in won't be an option.
They're cheap because they're probably slowly working towards phasing out last gen.
I wouldn't say "no one" wants them as there's a lot of GCN games I'm looking to buy and I'm sure there's plenty of others on this site who have a list they're slowly checking off. There's definitely not a huge market for older games though as most people trade in their aging consoles and games when new consoles come out and never look back.

Probably because 8th gen (3DS and NGP) systems are starting to be announced and 7th gen has only a few more years.
Some Gamestops near me did the same thing a while back with most PS2 games and original Xbox titles; they're likely clearing out their stock to make shelf space for 3DS and such. And it really depends on the particular store -- a couple Gamestops i go to have a good selection of GC and GBA games, while some others have barely any at all.
I go to two different Gamestops. 1. Thats less than a mile away from my house. (they have tons of PS2 games gamecube they have alot too but none with the boxart). 2. Its about 10mins away and is still my favorite. They have ALOT of gamecube games and PS2 games with box arts and actual Manuals still intact that are very hard to find. The manager also knows me from youtube with my videos and all and gives me sometimes special stuff with my preorders for systems and games & stuff. He even got a Nintendo rep to sign a poster of Metroid Other M for me which was really nice.

I've got 4 20-30 minutes away, and probably 7 or so an hour's distance. The weird thing where I live is gamestop bought up all the used game stores in the area, so the stores tend to lie in pairs (two at the mall, two . . . Two of them are even across the street from each-other! ). But yea, except for one in the mall, they all have tons of GameCube games. Many are over-priced eg. $25 for Mario Kart Double Dash, and the New Play Control predecessors go at a higher price than their Wii counterpart (as a side note GBA games go for $5-20). Oh well, I've got almost all of the GC greats, I'll just wait until the last few are cheap.
Not surprising. They have limited shelf space, and according to what I've heard Gamecube game sales aren't really bringing in that much money any more.

So that means I CAN actually get money for my Gamecube games! Right?! Right?!
If you add me, I need to at least know you or I won't add you back.
