Topic: Are you loyal to Nintendo? Or what made you go multi-platform?

I used to be nintendo loyal exclusively before last year when i bought my PS3 after the feeling that i was not getting as much interesting content as other consoles were getting and I had the urge to try HD graphics and play big multiplatform games that would only come to xbox360 and ps3...I must say i feel somewhat glad because when you strip away loyalty without reason to a game company and branch out, you truly can have some awesome results. I lean more to sony now to be honest, but nintendo still is where i got started so it has a place too...just not as often

I swore that once I got a job in high school and could afford it, that I'd have every console that was released. So far, so good.

Plain old gamer :)

I consider myself a very big Nintendo loyalist. Even though I own almost every game console from the last 3 decades, I only really play Nintendo systems. Games on competitor systems (mostly Sony and Microsoft) simply don't interest me. The only reason I have all 3 current consoles hooked up is because it looks good to have them all lined up in front of my flat screen. I haven't turned the 360 or PS3 on in over a year.

My first time gaming was pokemon blue in 1999, on a gameboy colour. I played it so much, but it's so messed up now (got sand, moss growing out of it -It survived a whole week in an outdoor shed pretty well but I can't find the roots....., You name it, it's got it) So I was playing nintendo style till about 2002 I got crazy about the ps2 and loved it loads... I grew up playing the final fantasy games and kingdom hearts few other too...., When I got the wii I was sorta disappointed sure the games were fun but i was done each one in a matter of days and I'm not much of a casual gamer either.... (Zelda was my favorite game on it)
So This year after turning into a handheld gamer I got a PS3..... I mean its got portal Portal for petes sake!!

I feel so whorish compared to some people here to nintendo...

Oh! and I did have a nes and snes (blood shed under bullets on yoshis Island is what they should've called yoshis Island)

For the most part, I'm loyal to Nintendo. The only exceptions are my PS2 and Sega Genesis. I never got a Gamecube though
In terms of handhelds, I'm Nintendo loyal 100%

Always have been and always will be. I only recently got my first console, so it was handhelds all the way before. There were some minor exceptions, when I played Halo without knowing that it was even an Xbox or when I played a 007 game on multiplayer. But I've never owned a competitor and never will.

I wouldn't classify myself as a Nintendo loyalist (since I do own a gaming PC and a PS2), but my preferred choice of console manufacturer is Nintendo.

Well, so far, yes. I didn't start gaming until I was about 8, which was fairly late in the Gamecube and GBA's life (especially the GBA's). I bought them (as opposed to anything else) based on playing the various consoles at my friends' houses, even if it was only one or two games. I don't remember what convinced me to buy a DS but I bought that. And then I bought the Wii because of 10 year old me thinking "ZOMG MOTION CONTROLZ!" But I really have enjoyed the games on all of Nintendo's consoles and have not seen enough games on the other consoles to warrent a purchase. This doesn't mean I will never buy another console, I just currently believe that Nintendo makes the best games.

I can relate to this.

I used to be the Same way, but it dosen't hurt to Try some thing New.
I love me some PS2, and 360, but out of the Two, I play my Wii More.

There Something about Nintendo games, I just can't put down, but I love playing them.

But I mostly only have Nintendo games on my Wii, since Wii dose get alot of Shovle ware.

For you, the day LordJumpMad graced your threads, was the most important day of your life. But for me, it was Tuesday.

I don't know how anyone has the time for more than one console. With just the 1st party Nintendo games I love -- and an occasional 3rd party one thrown in -- I still have way too much to play, and can never catch up with all the latest installments of my favorite franchises.

Twitter is a good place to throw your nonsense.

I'm almost exclusively interested in short, downloadable games, so it's pretty easy to keep up with two consoles. Will need to pick up or borrow a 360 some day just for XBLA. Unless I count the occasional old PS2 or Wii game I pick up cheap, used, and then return a week or two later, I buy maybe two new retail games a year.

Come on, friends,

Mutiplatform all the way. There are so many games you can miss out on with that loyalty crap. This gen i've only had a DS and a 360 though. I would have got the wii first but it came down to which systems overall fit my needs which was between the 360 and PS3. I counted that the 360 had the most RPG's best online at the time and thats what most of the people i know had made me get it.

I used to be, I guess. Mostly due to the fact I had no money, so I had to stick with only one, lest I have only systems and no games to play on them.

Now that I have money, I can have my Metroids and my Final Fantasies all together. I don't see any reason to try to deprive myself of that.

There can only be one, like in that foreign movie where there could only be one, and in the end there is only one dude left, because that was the point.

The N64 was my first home console and the next gen I had a PS2, Gamecube, and XBox, but I mostly only played the GC and PS2. Currently I have a Wii, and have been considering getting a PS3, but I don't really have the money for it. And besides, I have been pretty happy with my Wii so far. Nintendo has most of my favorite series, so generally I tend to be loyal to them. For handhelds, though, I have only owned Nintendo's.
