Topic: Are you loyal to Nintendo? Or what made you go multi-platform?

I had a NES, my sister had a Master System. I had a SNES, my sister had a Mega Drive. But then I stopped gaming when I hit puberty. When I got bored of puberty I bought a ps2. It was towards the end of it's life so it was cheap with a big library of games. Then I got a DS and finally a Wii.
I am loyal to Nintendo because I love 2d platform games and puzzle games. But I would buy other consoles if they are towards the end of their life span making them cheap with lots of games available. I commute to work so this xmas I got a cheap 2nd hand psp as I had bought all of the DS games I wanted.

Not really, I buy a platform based on it's exclusives, not on who made the console itself.
Of course, that pretty much guarantees that I'll buy whatever Nintendo throws together. (Can't live without my Mario or Link or Samus.)

I have a Backloggery now! Nothin' fancy, but feel free to add me as a friend.

I'm loyal to Nintendo I guess... but my parents bought a PS3 for bluray in or living room, so I'd be a fool not to pick up some exclusives for the system, evn though it did keep me from getting SMG2 and Super Mario Bros. Wii, otherwise I have all the games I want right now.

I used to be so loyal to Nintendo that I would get into fights with any friends I saw playing anything else. What turned me into a multiplatform gamer was a friend brought his playstation over, & despite me cussing him out for it, he hooked it up to my tv, & turned it on. The game was Soul Blade (the prequel to Soul Calibur) & my jaw dropped. Next paycheck I had me a PS with Final Fantasy 7. But I keep coming back to Nintendo. Anything that's multiplatform, I buy the Nintendo version. if it's not on a Nintendo console, I get the Playstation version.

Flandre Scarlet, she's cute, she's colorful, she can blow up entire cities, she's also a vampire. Start running sparklepants.

I'd hate to think of what I'm missing by sticking with one console.

Ever since the NES I've been loyal to Nintendo. Never bought another console. I have however played on 360s, PSPs, PS3s, Mega Drive, etc.

I am only loyal to good games and have always been multiplatform. Currently, Nintendo has the best systems with the best games. MS and Sony are fumbling so badly that they probably won't get better for a while. Still, it's possible that some other system will be better than Nintendo's in next gen, and if that happens, I'll be there, playing the games I like.

The wii is good with good game but don't let one E3 make you think that MS and Sony doing badly. In a Whole Sony and Microsoft make way more money then nintendo. Nintendo is a video game company and thats all it does so they can't afford to fall over Microsoft and Sony do way more then video games and they could get away with the losses even if they don't want them.

I'd hate to know all the restrictions that come with being 'loyal' to Nintendo

LittleBigPlanet happened. I saw the game's trailers and I knew I just had to have it, but I still was hesitant of slapping 400 bucks down for a system for one game. But when Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection was announced, that pretty much sealed the deal.

I'm not loyal to Nintendo and only came back to nintendo for the wii. I loved nes and super nintendo but n64 didn't have nearly as many good games as playstation 1. So I got ps1 and ps2 and was quite happy with them. Ps3 cost too much at launch so I didn't get it and once it actually started coming down in price they took out ps2 compatability which annoyed me. I was thinking of sitting out this generation but once I started to see a lot of cool 3rd party and wiiware games for wii along with having played wii sports I decided to get a wii. Also, helped that it was cheaper and had built in wifi unlike xbox.

I'm still thinking of getting a ps3 for blu ray and some games like wipeout, street fighter, next mortal kombat and such.

Overall, I go with the system that has the most exciting and best variety of games. At this point all 3 have their share of good games but the combination of nintnedo bringing out almost all of their franchises as well as much improved 3rd party support made me mainly go with nintendo for this generation.
