Topic: Will the 3DS support DSiWare?

I hope so, since I'd like to get some G&W games. Otherwise, I'd have to look for another copy of G&W Gallery 4, as I'm certainly not having three different DS's

I don't believe Nintendo will have a DSiWare, from what I am aware of Nintendo has not announced a DSiWare. Maybe they will release a 3DSWare. I guess we will just have to wait. Hope that was some help.

You should be able to use a Club Nintendo account to transfer DSiWare games to the 3DS. It probably won't happen though. @JadeGirl I expect there will be a 3DSWare.

Of course it will, developers make money with dsiware, is there any reason to stop?

@JadeGirl: Yes, there is a thing called DSiWare. It's a downloadable game service for the DSi.

I do dearly hope DSiWare is not only supported, but transferable from the DSi. If it isn't transferable, then what's the point of having it on the 3DS if most people who'll play DSiWare have owned DSi's?

3DSWare has been confirmed to some extent due to Nintendo making a copyright and trademark for 3DSWare back at the Nintendo Headquarters in Japan. While DSiWare will indeed been no more by 2012 I'm sure or at lest I hope that WayForward and Nintendo will ensure that Shantae: Risky's Revenge will be ported over to 3DSWare being it is such a treasure to us Shantae fans.

Hope the games will at least be transferrable to the new system. Don't think the service will fade out though.

If DSiWare is transferable then I can sell my DSi, which means buying a 3DS will be easier.

I sure hope DSiware is downloadable to the 3DS. I hope it's transferable too so I don't feel bad for the ones that got a DSi

I'm pretty sure DSiWare will either be absorbed into the 3DSWare selection, or will be another button on the 3DS Shop screen, just like how the Wii Shop shows Virtual Console, WiiWare and Channels.

I can't believe there are no online petitions to Nintendo about their ridiculous policy surrounding their downloadble games. I will not be getting a 3DS or another wiiware, vc or dsiware game until they are tied to an account and not a machine. TI cannot believe that if I buy my son a dsi I would have to pay fior all the dsiware games he would want that I've already bought- it's madness. I would have bought an XL for him earlier this year until I realised this. Their policy is not avoiding piracy-it's annoying 1000s of gamers and customers. They finally relented with the SD card for the Wii but who knows? I've found myself using my PS3 a lot more in the past few months and I've been buying Nintendo for 21 years.

I bet it will, if DSiWare can be transferred from the DSi to the 3DS, you can more than likely directly download DSiWare to the 3DS.

While it's been official, things might change before its launch, whether or not it will download DSiWare games and transfer those from your SD card. I can't help but hope that it'll happen. Besides, it showed Dr. Mario Express in one of the videos.

At least it's confirmed that most DSiWare games can be transferred. I'll worry about the details when I have to do the transfer.

That can't work for other regions outside of the states, cause other Club Nintendo's don't register the Wii, the Australian club doesnt at least.
