darthstuey commented on 3DS Won't Be This Cheap Forever Says Nintendo UK:

Sorry but £175 is not cheap for a handheld, especially considering most folks will own an iPhone or some kind of Android phone.
The reason the Wii was so successful was that it was so much cheaper than the PS3 and XBox 360. At £179 it was an impulse buy- as was the original DS at its launch.
Nintendo have lost sight of this and I feel that this system will not sell any where near the amounts of its predecessors. Saying that, judging by the rumours of the price of Sony's new baby, I may by wrong!!

Yes it was better than the SNES version. Infact, it was one of the best N64 games released. So much so that I am so sick of waiting for classic games like this to be released on the VC that I have gone to Ebay and bought an N64. To be honest, I wish that I had never sold my classic system collection but there you go I did so let's not talk about it ever again! I just picked up Quake for 99p and am bidding on Pilotwings and Jet Force Jemini right now.
My N64 turned up yesterday with Shadows of the Empire and when nI plugged it in to the kitchen TV a warm wave of yesterday washed over me. Forget the VC and just by the original consoles!
I'm gutted that my SNES appears to be ill and won't display any video- oh well I'm sure I can pick one up cheap and finally play Unirally again as it seems that is another title never to be released on VC.

I think the worst of all is that we are still tied to a game to a system. I have stopped buying all WiiWare/DsiWare/VC games until this is changed. I;ve spent too much money to have games I own lost if my system is stolen etc. Also if my son wants one of my dsi downloads to play on his system, why should I have to buy it again? It's utterly crazy.
I'm in the Sony camp now Nintendo and I'm really sorry as I had been buying your systems for over twenty years.
I won't be getting a 3DS or the next gen home console unles I can feel safe knowing I can port downloaded content to them.

This is the most expensive Neo Geo cart- csting upwards of £1500!!

I have the scaled down version on the Neo Geo Pocket and it is fab- well worth buying.

What is all the excitement about? This has been out on the GBA for about 5 years so it's not like it was unavailable. I want games that have been unavailable since their original release- I thought that was the whole point of the VC. There is no doubting just how good this game is but considering its availability I am really disappointed it is the only game released this week.

PS3 at £425 is ridiculous. It will end up like the PS2- hundreds of below par genre games. If all you are interested in is graphics and power then you must be 20 or under and will probably love it. Wii is the greatest console I have owned and I've owned a canny few in the 27 years I have been playing games; however I do agree that many of the launch games have been hugely disappointing. Excite truck is a good laugh and the controls work fine, Sports is great, SSX is good but finding the control system a tad tricky at the moment, Play is totally overrated but the pool and cow racing are worth a fiver, I hated Wario Ware- where was the real multi-player head to head option?, I love comics but also hated Ultimate Alliance, Sonic looks below par, Kororinpa- I like. Afraid to buy Zelda in case I lose my family for a month. despite this there are a great many high quality games coming out in the next few months- can't wait for Metal Slug Anthology. PS3- whatever!
