Topic: There is a new Legend of Mana game

As the tittle suggested, there is a new Legend of Mana game........for the IOS and Android and it is Free to Play.

I mean what the actual **** Square Enix? What were they thinking? If they made a new game for the 3DS it would sell like freaking hot cakes. It really annoys me to no end seeing developments putting their great franchises on mobile devices for a quick buck. Base on the game is going to be on mobile devices and free to play, this game is probably going to be crap.

This series has been silent for so many years and when SE finally decided to bring it back, they put it on IOS and android. Come on man seriously.

"Lets use our popular IP's and make em a cheap free-to-play game with microtransactions." Someone fire this guy....please. I still seething to this day that the World ends with you remake is on the iPhone instead of the 3ds.

I am not against mobile games (That I would play on a tablet with real controls) if they are just the same as a normal console game. (No DLC or Micro transactions just one price).

Much nicer screen and much more powerful hardware than the 3DS.

I have seen Ace Attorney on the ipad and I cannot see how anybody would want to play it on the DS given that option. (Looks nicer and its significantly cheaper).

There are more and more ipad games supporting physical controls.

Knights of the Old Republic for example which is not easy to play because the PC version doesn't support widescreen and the other version is on the original Xbox.

Even if true, that has nothing to do with this thread. This game is a free to play microtransaction hellhole.

Here's my logic : When a person buys an Iphone or Samsung Galaxy, they buy a phone. They are going to use it for phone calls, checking emails, looking up latest stock price, take selfies and sometimes gaming.

When a person buys a gaming device, they are going to use it to game. Plain and simple.

You can never compare the gaming experience on a mobile device and a gaming console. It just doesn't stack up.

To prove my point, lets compare the "best selling" games on both devices. IOS best selling game is Candy Crush while the 3DS is Pokemon X/Y. These 2 games are on a totally different category. However I do acknowledge that there are genuinely good games on mobile phones, but the experience I get from them just simply can't compare to consoles.

I tried the physical controls made by logitech in one of my local NCIX stores. They are simply horrible.

This. It's one thing to make it a mobile game, it's another to make it a shameless Free-To-Play scam. It's just a middle finger to the fans while they **** on the series we once loved.

BTW, I'm tired of gamers looking down on mobile gaming as if its inferior to other kinds of gaming by default. It can work for certain kinds of games. Yes, not all games, but not all games work for consoles either, nor dedicated handhelds, nor PCs. So why can't people simply accept that it comes down to tastes, instead of acting like they're better than other people because they don't play Mobile games?

I wouldn't call it "logic". I call it "close-minded thinking"

So true especially with how capable mobile phones have become over the last decade.

I really don't care for mobile gaming myself, but I don't go on a rant about how it's destroying everything we hold dear. Microtransactions and clones don't represent all of mobile gaming, similar to how not all Nintendo games are Mario games and repetitive remakes.

Hey think about it this way, if the smartphone game becomes popular, there's going to be a much bigger audience who want a true Mana game!

Yes? No? Anybody?

always thought I'd change to Gyarados after I turned 20 but hey, this is more fitting I guess. (also somebody registered under the original Magikarp name and I can't get back to it anymore orz)

Ehhh, maybe. That'd be awesome. But most of the time the same people who buy mobile games for a buck, wouldn't turn around and buy it's sequel for $40-50 (plus the cost of the system it's on). Mobile gaming is so popular because it's quick, cheap, and accessible. Good JRPG's are usually none of those things.

But it's technically true. I don't know anyone who buys a phone strictly for gaming or picks a phone because of gaming capabilities. Tablets? Yes because movies, games and books are their focus. I don't hate mobile games but I would never play an RPG on a tablet either. No matter how many controls they add, they're still going to be clogging the screen up but that's just my taste. I have a tablet and I love playing candy crush, it's a perfect mobile game. I've also played Puzzle and Dragons on the mobile and that's a game I'd rather have for my 3DS. It's just a matter of taste for a lot of people. My 3DS doesn't feel like it's going to explode if I play with it for more than a straight hour like my phone.

Well, no, they won't buy it specifically for gaming, but that doesn't mean it's not "real gaming hardcorez" like many want to believe...

The problem with your logical there is that you are stuck in the past. People nowadays buy a tablet and phone for all that and they buy gaming consoles for all that. Since when do gaming consoles just play games anymore? The thing is all this technology is starting to blend now so that there is no more a dedicated device just for that. Heck if you want to get technical you can use home consoles as phones cause of skype and what not.

Close minded thinking? So a person would buy a mobile phone just to game on it? I'm sorry but that will never be the case.
