I really like the 3DS, but I have some issues with it. Why can't I use my Wii points to buy Virtual Console games. Why doesn't the device have free 3G like my Kindle so I don't have to be tethered to Wi-Fi. Where are the Apps? Netflix is great, but I have no clue what the Pokemon thing is for. Do they sell anything to help hold the system. I have very large hands so the size is really more of an issue then gaming in 3D. Can I please get one friend to link up with and help me unlock the Find Mii thing.......
I got five on a daytrip to London, but that's it so far apart from one from a friend. What's annoying is that as far as I can tell it only works in sleep mode. So if you're actually using your 3DS and another 3DS owner walks by, you won't get a hit.
About the sleep mode thing, I'm not so sure. Once I was in my dorm, minding my own, playing some Mario Picross, when all of a sudden, the green light just flashed on for about five seconds and then went out. When I checked my home menu, sure enough it was a hit. Must have been someone walking outside.
Anyway, for the longest time I used to never get any StreetPasses, but ever since I've started attending college, I've been netting at least five a day. The only problem now is that I now only need three more pieces to finish the last two puzzles, but no one has any of the pieces I need.

I was messing around with the camera when I got one once.
Oh, I'll give you a StreetPass woe. I walk with my 3DS all the time. Like since I got it, it is always with me when I am out anywhere. I haven't had a StreetPass in a little over a month. So I sent my 3DS away a couple days ago to fix the upper screen scratch problem. Today, my dad and I went to this little Oriental restaurant. I think the place is sort of gross but he loves it so whatever. I have been to places with thousands of folks and not gotten one hit. We walk into this restaurant with no more than 10 folks in it and of course, there's a little Asian kid right there playing with a 3DS. WTF! The one time I don't have my 3DS on me and there is a StreetPass just waiting to be picked up. Sigh...
Last week I had mine with me when I was in London. The place was crawling with people - one of the busiest times I've ever seen it there and I only got 3 hits. Yet a few days later I went to the cinema in a small town. There were only 5 other people in the theatre and I managed to get a hit off one of them. Go figure.
Hehe funny Victoria, sadly we didnt streetpass .. Wtf , Victoria how DIDNT you get any streetpasses ? London is a good place to do so especially in holiday seasons with all those tourists. Actually my streetpass record doubled there. I think i got like 25 hits there .... Which places have you been ? Good ones were you wouldnt believe , the british museum and in general tube rides. British museum alone gave me 10 hits, tehehe Havnt tried trafalgar square though but could imagine there should be many people too, and there are events from time to time. Was really fun , so many international hits all around
@Victoria You were lucky, I was in London last week and didnt get a thing... Wakefield and Pontefract on the other hand I always come away with atleast three or four each day I go there... They always say people are friendlier up north so mabey the 3DS owners in London just dont have their 3DS in sleep mode for fear of randomly being picked up by strangers. lol
Raptor actually you were VERY unlucky. poor guy really ... Just to be curious to which places did you go ? Or did you just hide under a rock in the hyde park ? lol

I know what you mean. Since sending my 3DS in for repairs, I've gone to Chicago for a college information session and started school, meaning I've probably lost quite a few opportunities myself. And, to add insult to injury, I have a nice little conversation with FedEx dude who helped me ship my 3DS in to Nintendo about the Ambassador program, so I'm guessing he probably had a 3DS and probably had it with him when I came in. Oh, and the FedEx I went to is in a strip mall containing a fast food place my family and I have visited probably half a dozen times over the summer. Ouch.

Something like that happened to me, but it was at waltmart.
We exit the car, I see my 3DS and think "I'll just leave you here in the car because I don't feel like carrying you arround". The first think I see when I enter waltmart is a kid playing with a 3DS.
I usually get a few when I go into Uni (In the middle of a busy city). Still usually get less than 5 though unless I stop at EB Games but I haven't been in since the price drop (I really should start going to Uni more often) so hopefully it'll become more frequent as more people buy the console.

Not true. I was sitting in Union station using my 3DS and I got a hit.
In Toronto at least, the hits are pretty good. Most of the time I go out, I get at least one. I'd recomend places where younger people'd be. Air shows are pretty cool, but I don't think I was ever jazzed up to see one when I was 12. I guess the main problem is where people live. Going out of your way to get a hit isn't desirable either. At any rate, try spots where teens and young adults hang around, that should improve your chances.
I am fairly certain I have 26, and I don't feel like checking. So, yeah. Not really a big number. But still bigger than most of the other people here. I bet Japanese people get over nine thousand hits a day...sorry, I had to say that. I should go to Japan and walk through Tokyo for no apparent reason. Yeah, sounds like fun!
When all else fails, eat a taco.
