While i don't think that this rumor is legit, I am interested in the idea of two different versions of the same Zelda game being released on the 3DS. Probably not gonna happen but it's a idea that could be great if done right.

Favorite 3DS game right now: Fire Emblem Awakening
The 3DS game that i want right now: Mario and Luigi Dream Team
I personally never played the Oracle games, but I heard that they were basically a watered-down version of Link's Awakening DX. In other words, it sucked as a game. Even so, though, it's common knowledge that working on two different games takes a ton of work (however, Pokemon basically only needs aesthetic and Pokemon changes, not different level designs). And in this day in age, unless the game was called Pokemon, two games at once like the Oracle games is a red herring because of the work put into the game. You would rather combine the two games into one HUGE game with so much side-quests and dungeons, with the added bonus that you won't have to fork over $85+ (including tax) just to get all the content.
Metroid, Xenoblade, EarthBound shill

You might want to check your facts, those games blew Link's Awakening out of the water.

I said I NEVER played the Oracle games. And besides, from what I heard, it was just one guy's opinion out of millions of people. And besides, I'm neutral about the games. I'll give the Oracle games a spin if it comes to Virtual Console; until then, I reserve my judgment.
Anyway, back to the point. This won't happen because one, it looks like someone used Photoshop to make this, and two, the games would be better off as just one huge Zelda game.

Too bad we all know that the next Zelda game will end up on the Vita instead! After all, Jack Tretton knows best! But in all seriousness, I would totally buy both games if this rumor turns out to be true.
While I'd like to believe this bit of news x rumor I'm a bit on the rocks because those two logos look a bit iffy as if they were composed by a clever Photoshop student.
However, given that Nintendo has already acknowledged that they are developing a new 3DS exclusive Zelda title I'm not going to entirely write this off as it is a rather funky idea! I'd give anything to play a Zelda Fire & Ice game. I'm sure that Gamescom 2012 or more likely E3 2012 will solve all of this for us although rumors have been rather accurate lately. I mean all of the PS Vita rumors proved true. WiiU rumors were validated. The LucasArts/Lucasfilm Star Wars Detours rumors also proved true and so this just might as well. After all, us Zelda fans can dream, hope and pray!

So fake, the japanesse translation is quite lost, like I trying to speak english properly.
There is a explanation: "In japanese romaji is written Hi o purofeshii and Aisu o purofeshii. The o here, also romanized as wo means the direct object particle, which is completely wrong. It should be ``NO`` instead of Wo/o. And, it´s not a typping error, someone just wrote it wrong. The way it is now is like saying The Legend of Zelda : Profethize the ice. No way a japanese developer would make the title just a mess and write it gramatically wrong." It was posted in zelda informer. http://www.zeldainformer.com/2012/01/rumor-nintendo-working-o...
And Link's Awakening was basically a watered-down version of A Link to the Past, just in a different location.
and yet ironically Link's Awakening was a better game. Weird how things work like that.
id like to hear your reason on how Awakening is a better game to you, if i dont mind spilling the beans.
anyways if this rumour is true i'll be buying them both when they come out, its things like these that make the 3DS become an awsome handheld to play on lots of great games in my eyes

Surprisingly great story and characters for an old Nintendo game, challenge less often based on being frustrating, some of the best use of fetch quests ever, far less predictable in terms of stories and even gameplay. Basically. Also helps that there isn't a game quite like Link's Awakening (maybe the Oracle games if you look hard enough?), while OOT is very similar to LTTP and I played OOT first.

Apparently your opinion is a fact. Weird how that works, eh?

I must admit that I'm not a major fan of Zelda games, not for any reason better than lack time to really get into the story. But from my naive perspective, I don't see how splitting an RPG into two parts without a "collect 'em all" element would work... does this mean Link will give up adventuring and become a beast trainer? (Or is it just a rumour of course)?

I really enjoy the Legend of Zelda but I sure hope they don't go down the Pokemon road. I don't have anything against Pokemon fans but I simply can't imagine the Legend of Zelda Pokemon style unless it is going to be sort of like the Evan class in Maple Story that consist of a Dragon duo pact of master and animal in a sort of symbiotic relationship as that would make sense in the Zelda universe sort of like in Christopher Palolini's Eragon of the Inheritance Trilogy. If that is how this Legend of Zelda: Fire and Ice game will work than that should prove to be quite exciting and it would indeed provide a new and interesting twist of expansion to the Legend of Zelda franchise..
