Topic: Ruby/Sapphire Remakes on 3DS?

Why are you people worried about 3DS sales being good before releasing a Pokèmon game? The DS wasn't selling very well, until they came out with DP versions.

I don't think Nintendo or GameFreak is worried about that. I'm sure development of a 3DS exclusive Pokémon is well underway and this Black 2/White 2 is just to hold fans over during the wait.

sigh... I doubt these remakes are going to happen now. It's currently impossible to get to Hoenn on my 3DS... Come onnnnnnnnnn! 2013 Remakes! Imagine the volcano and the mist of Mount Pyre, underwater diving and a battle between Kyogre, Groudon and Rayquaza in 3D! I'd gladly pay for that! But I gladly pay for pretty much any remake

well i can imagine that they could appear in the vc but why would they bother remaking it,just because silver and gold got the treatment dont mean that all the other titles are

Ruby and Sapphire were my FAVORITE Pokemon games! I love how they are both hated and loved by Pokemon fans, oh how controversial Anyways, I really hope to see these as 3DS exclusives. I hope Black 2 and White 2 are just to hold over fans and give DS more support while they work on something for us 3DS owners. Although there is that possibility I've heard about Black 2 and White 2 having Hoenn in it, anyone notice the Ruby and Sapphire behind the names? Also, Black and White end with N going off to a "faraway land" just some wishful thinking. Either way, I really hope this comes out for 3DS, but they should take their time, there's no rush!

I reckon that the Ruby and Saphire remakes will be on DS not the 3DS as these remake would be part of Generation 5, and so far main games of each generation appear on the one handheld console. However Game Freak could suprise us again (like with Pokemon Black2/White2) and make it for the 3DS.

Game Freak makes the games, not Nintendo. Game Freak didn't have a dev kit for the 3DS until they were far in development of BW2. It had nothing to do with nobody having a 3DS at the time, mostly because the system wasn't out when they were so far in development of BW2. As one of the many 3DS owners, I would love to see Hoenn remakes on the 3DS because it can really shine on it. Plus, BW2 blows up our ability to predict future Pokemon games. So we can't really follow the pattern.

They made Black and White 2 because they had the same engine available and wanted to do a sequel game. They had started work on Black and White 2 after or right before BW1's release, so they could've started work on a 3DS game. It'd just be easier to make a new game with the assets they already have.
Since they're departing from the natural Pokemon order, I think it's very possible we'll see a ruby/saphire remake on 3DS. Just after the 6th gen.
Granted, we cannot know anything anymore, since Black and White 2 broke the cycle.

Until I hear otherwise, I still believe Black and White were supposed to be on 3DS in some way. It makes too much sense to me.

I think the Ruby/Sapphire remakes should be called RisingRuby and SinkingSapphire. don't you agree?

Sinking Sapphire sounds meh...

@MarioSmash02 rising ruby kind of conflicts with the legendary of that game, as groudon represents the earth. And sinking sapphire just doesn't sound right :/

omg yes hoenn region was the best region of all R/S/E were the best pokemon games magma ruby aqua sapphire sounds right cause team magma is on ruby and team aqua is on sapphire i get magma ruby groundon all day

@mieu-fire that's all that really comes to my mind when someone says pokemon. None of this ice cream cone 5th gen garbage. I wish they made Dolly (it was a beta gen V pokemon based on the first cloned animal) complete. Who cares how much controversy it causes! I want a decent looking sheep pokemon!
