Games like VLR don't sell well on consoles, either. Kids and Teenagers are far more lucrative groups than mature adults, at least at the moment.
Oh yeah, I wouldn't even think VLR should bother to be released on consoles. It just doesn't fit the whole console experience really. Hmmm, you're probably right about the most lucrative groups. Maybe the best we can hope for is stuff like GTA and Skyrim, that appeal to anyone who's a teenager or older.
I used to think that Final Fantasy was one of the few series that's aimed more at an adult audience, at least some of them (e.g 6,7,10,12,tactics). But I was quickly disillusioned of that when I went on the somethingawful forums. I've never seen a corner of the internet that resembles, to an unerring degree, a highschool playground.
@Dezzy What difference does it really make, yeah the general audience aimed for is important but in reality EVERYONE plays games in and out of there given age range, thats the point so it appears interesting to EVERYONE.
Lifes like a game there are those who are good at it and those who need some practice.

...refuting what you just said would be so easy that it doesn't even feel worth it. :/ And that's before we even get to the fact that you completely missed his point. There's a huge difference between stories aimed towards teenagers and ones aimed towards adults, often relying on more complex ideas that are easier to explain to someone who has lived long enough to have at least a vague understanding of the real world, such as moral grey areas that actually touch on both sides of an issue without there being an easy or even right answer.
Conception 2 and most Atlus games aren' t really geared to kids. Same with Fire Emblem Awakening and most of the other fighting games. Castlevania Mirror of Fate isn't a kid game either. I am looking forward to ths game. My wallet is going to hate me when this year ends.
Want: Harvest Moon: One World, Story of Seasons: Pioneering Town, Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury
Finished the Alola Dex.
Now playing New Horizons, Wrath of White Witch and Sword

Yeah, not sure how to respond to that. It kinda seems obvious what the difference is. It's the difference between being able to see that the Sims was supposed to be a satire on consumerism and the whole concept of the 'hedonic treadmill' VS just thinking it was supposed to be a fun life simulator (which is what it did end up becoming). It's the difference between realising that Shadow of the Colossus was trying to make you question your own tendency to follow pseudo authority and just go mindlessly along with the typical narrative you're given VS just being about killing cool monsters. Need I go on?
I don't think you can become romantically involved with NPC but from a pic I saw on the official jp site there were hearts over a male and female avatar, so maybe with other players.
I can marry other players? I'm too insecure to ask a girl for her number, so I guess even in Fantasy Life I will remain forever single...
My SD Card with the game on it is just as physical as your cartridge with the game on it.
I love Nintendo, that's why I criticize them so harshly.
I was super hyped for this game before, and now that I know it has online co-op I'm even more hyped! I watched the Japanese trailer for this game way back when, but other than that I hadn't heard about it until this E3. I'm really glad it's finally getting localized!

New to the topic because well I didn't realize till recently that I really want this game. The 50$ price tag on Persona is a major turn off for me and this just jumped to the top of my list! I've always been interested in this but that all start 2 years ago. The time between this release kill a little of the joy out of it. Glad it's finally coming though and now it's so close to release. Not even remotely sure what job I want to start with since all are so interesting. I'll probably go outside of the norm and not take any kind of warrior/adventure character and start with something more simple.
Its been a long time coming but it's almost here, finally!
Oh and Shadow of the Colossus was one awesome game, perhaps my all time favorite!

If I was only ever able to have Monster Hunter and EO games in the future, I would be a happy man.

You don't really have to worry about what job you're going to be; you constantly have to be switching between an adventuring-type job (to gather materials) and a crafting-type job (to create new equipment/items so you can venture farther and get higher quality materials).
Oh, I didn't know that. Thanks for the info. Outside of a couple of videos I know very little.
