@Malkeor Me too. I never took any portable with me as much as I've taken this one. And stay diligent and you'll get that Streetpass hit. I took mine to campus with me and got 3 my first week. And I live in rural Tennessee, so when Nintendo was talking about that feature of the 3DS, I was like, "Well, that's cool but it'll never apply to me."
Eventually, I'm going to get a fanny pack and have the 3DS on me when I use the treadmill. Curious to see just how many steps I get out of a session, and want coinage. Don't want to do it now because I'm afraid it repeatedly slapping against my leg as fast as I walk would damage it.
Let's attack aggressively, kupo! :D

I took 1000 steps today. If I were to take it to the gym like I did with my Pokewalker, it'd be at least 10,000+ steps but too bad it's only 10 coins a day (right?).
My biceps always feel exercised after an intense Super Street Fighter 4 3D Edition, er, streetfight. and that pedometer + streetpass. Nintendo has just re-invented Wii Fit. XD

Nintendo found the number one reason for me to walk more; game rewards. I wish we got a coin for every 1000 steps instead, because that would make it an actual challenge. Nintendogs helps a lot, though.
well just about everything has a pedometer these days.. i find the most motivation with nike + i have it on my ipod touch which can fit in my pocket unlike the 3DS
This is ground control to major Tom, you've really made the grade. And the papers want to know whose shirts you wear
Now it's time to leave the capsule if you dare
As crazy as this sounds, this is the first time i've taken my portable to almost everywhere. I even took it to work one day. I'm really looking forward to my (first) streetpass, and I enjoy building a steady supply of coins.

This is the first I've ever really taken a handheld with me to work everyday. I put my 3DS in my glovebox because I drive a lot during work and it seems to count the bumps sometimes. And I want to street pass fellow people in vehicles, but that hasn't happened yet.

Yesterday, I went into Meijer's with 195 steps taken. I came out of the store with 1567 steps taken. It's not hard to get high step counts. But... I park, like, 350 steps away from the door anyway because I don't want anyone near my truck.
Hey, did you know that if you set the date back a day, you can re-earn the play cons for that day, and when you change back to the real time, earn ply coins yet again? I found this on accident after mistakenly setting my 3DS clock twelve hours ahead. I don't intend to "Cheat" in this way, but some of you might like to know that.
Yeah, the 1000 steps it takes to earn the maximum 10 coins is a joke. That's not exercise.
Seems like you people are missing the point of the pedometer + coin system. The primary purpose of the system isn't to give you a workout by enforcing walking. It's to get people carrying the 3DS with them wherever they go so that StreetPass is quickly and widely adopted. It's pretty clever to tie the pedometer, Play Coin rewards and StreetPass together.
As you can see from this thread, it's working. People who never carried handhelds around with them before are now carrying the 3DS with them. Smart move, Nintendo.
The resulting exercise, while pretty minimal, is just a peripheral bonus for your health and for their public image.
