Re: "No Plans" For Ambassador Program Following Wii U Price Cut

yvanjean

Everyone that bought a WiiU back in November knew they were buying it at a $50 premium just for being an early adopter. Back then everyone was expecting a price cut after Nintendo Year-end of March 2013. But, Nintendo bullishly stuck to the $350 price tag which explain why they only manage to sell less then 500K consoles world wide in the last 5 months. Nintendo should of announce a price cut and a new bundle with Super Mario Bros U back in late March 2013. I don't want an ambassador program. I just wished it wouldn't of taken Nintendo so long to give a price cut that was 5 months overdue.

Re: Talking Point: Nintendo's Low-Key Approach to the 2DS and Wii U Price Cut Reveals Wasn't Surprising

@Kirk You're not thinking as a business man, you save money by using parts you already have and secondly a second circle pad would make this a new system which you would send a mix message to your customer base a big no no.

2DS is simply removing the useless 3D function but justifying it as this new system is being target at young children. But, in reality Nintendo just want to give customer no reason to get a PS -Vita and reach the extreme casual market while 3DS is enjoying all the good press. 2DS was develop to hit the magic price point of 129$, by next holiday season they will sell for the magic number of $99.99 once they got enough inventory.

@Kirk That was a dumb redesign here why:

1 - All the game are optimized to be played on the top screen and touch screen is smaller during development process, you would simply be stretching and making everything on the bottom screen look weird and stretch.

2nd - Nintendo as all these parts made for the Regular 3ds, this useless redesign would require them to get a new bigger touch screen

Finally - You're change would simply drive up the price of getting a bigger touch screen and not using the parts they already mass produce.

Re: Weirdness: SEGA Employee Has a Bad Day, Says Bayonetta 1 & 2 Are Almost "Exactly the Same"

Seem like the Sega rep was talking about Bayonetta 1 port coming to WiiU.

"That said, the decision on which version to purchase is really up to you. The games are exactly the same except the WiiU version has a two player mode and the Bayonetta character has different hair and her costume is different." Sega Rep is now talking about the Bayonetta 1 port to WiiU.

Still a big no no since Nintendo and Sega haven't announce the game.

Re: IGN Editor: If Wii U Doesn't Pick Up, Nintendo Should Look To New Hardware

WiiU unlike Xbox one and PS4 don't need 3rd Party Support as much as the other system. 2nd Party game (Retro, Sega Exclusives, Platinum Games partnership) combine with Nintendo first party games will produce much more quality products then the limited amount of 3rd party developpers that would be willing to bring their game to the WiiU. 3rd Party aren't interested about going up against Nintendo games on a nintendo system. Ubisoft will enventually come around and fully support the WiiU once the install based hit 5-10 million system. What Nintendo need to do is target Indie developpers that produce quality game for the Eshop that way they can cut out the retaillers.

Re: IGN Editor: If Wii U Doesn't Pick Up, Nintendo Should Look To New Hardware

Nintendo DS can't compete against the PSP. NDS is doomed.
Nintendo Wii will be a failure compared to Xbox360 and PS3. Wii is Doomed.
3DS was over priced, only 3.5 million sold after 6 months. PS Vita will get release and 3DS will be doomed.

Now we have the Nintendo Wii U. Xbox One and PS4 is coming out the system is doomed. 3.2 million sold worldwide after 7 months.

What you need to know is that Nintendo is a business that as to report to the share holders. The Wii U is currently being sold at $350 which is barelly making a profit or a small lost. In order for the WiiU to receive a price cut, the company must make up the money lost in software. Currently there isn't enought software to make up the difference.

Nintendo knew that there would be a shortfall in software, they were hoping that the hardcore audience would pick up 5million system at the $350 price point. There first price cut would only be needed when WiiU Fit and Mario Party WiiU is ready for the casual market.

Is the company struggling ... NO...... Is the WiiU Doom .... Hell No.... Is the WiiU overprice .... Yes and Nintendo knows it! They just wanted the sucker harcore gamers to pick up a system and help their financials until they're ready to target the casual market.

The system hans't even been on the market for a year and the software is not quite ready for it.

Re: The Wonderful 101's Download Will Grab Over 10GB of Precious Hard Drive Space

Install my external harddrive (500GB) this weekend took 2 minute, Wii U did all the work, then transfer Super Luigi U and Trine to my Hard Drive that took like 5 min. Surprisingly Trine is a 1GB game. I must admit that WiiU handle adding an external harddrive seamlessly. I bet there so many 50-250GB external hard drive kicking around that people don't use any more. Ask any of your relative that are tech savy they might just have one that they would be willing to give to you for free.

Re: Feature: EarthBound Captivates Miiverse

@Yanchamaru Really buddy, just get a Wii U already.... Earthbound is one of the few WiiU perks (this goes for everyone asking for Earthbound to be release on 3ds, I don't see why Nintendo would want to push the game on that system, they'd rather have you playing there new software).... I'm actually really enjoing my WiiU right now bought Assassin Creed 3 for $30, Earth bound $ 10, Star Wars pinball for $20 in July... I'm getting so much playing time! Also, I got Super Luigi U back in June 20th seem like so long ago now.

Re: Feature: EarthBound Captivates Miiverse

@Goginho This game is pure RPG... requires grinding & patient... the story is unlike anything you would of played before, but you have to go through a pretty basic RPG experience (40-50 hours) if you want to see the end. There is alot of random encounter and sometime cheap one hit kill then you have to start over from last saved point. I loved it but i'm an RPG fan.

@MrBlutzIII Xbox 360 weren't selling full retail game when the system came out, beside the Xbox Live Arcade games used to be restricted to 50MB. Nintendo knew that they were going to be offering full retail game digitally in their eshop store. 32GB was never going to be large enough, it's lame that we have to install a HDD so early in the life cycle. How much more would it of cost Nintendo to include a 100Gb hard drive.... that would of allowed me to install 10-20 full retail game.
