Undertale was kickstarted in 2013 then released in 2015. Deltarune is a different game by the same creator.
Deltarune chapter 1 was released for free in 2018, chapter 2 also released for free in 2021, since then he has been working mainly on chapters 3 and 4 so that they're released together as the first paid section of the game. There are supposed to be 7 chapters in total.

I've heard good things about this one even from people with no nostalgia for Atari games, looking forward to it

All this time I thought I was crazy because everyone loves this game and I think it's tedious, definitely my least favorite Kirby. I always preferred Nightmare in Dreamland over this one.
