Picked up Ball X Pit last week based on the positive things I was reading about it, not sure what I'm missing but it gets old very quick and the progression system is almost too slow. Someone enlighten me on what I might be missing or doing wrong with this game?
@raymond23 This^^^... I picked up the first one and it just didn't click with me, I tried and tried but just was not enjoying the game. It may have been due to difficulty, I'm not sure, I may revisit the first one again but who knows.
Am I missing the Switch 2 version or is there not one yet, played the demo this past weekend and it looks TERRRIBLE. The awful framerate made me nauseous. I kept thinking that the tracks looked cool but awful at the same time. I did like being able to select the tracks on the fly while racing. If there is a Switch 2 version I'm thinking definite purchase. We'll see though.
I had been looking at this game for months waiting for it to go on sale as it piqued my interest... Finally picked it up and I hated every second that I played this game and this is after doing some research on it as well. I guess I should have dug deeper. Not fun in the least bit. Not intuitive. Just an aggravating metroidvania style game... I tried folks. I really did.
Metroidvania..Castlevania, yadda yadda I used to really love this style of games but it's getting old and tiresome lately, everything looks the same. And the market is oversaturated with them. Kind of like "Roguelite" etc.. We'll see..I still may check it out.
I spent some time with the PS4 version, and honestly it's not a very good game. There are much better games of this type in fact they are a dime a dozen on Switch. Looking at all the so called QOL updates for the Switch version and I'm not sure if it warrants a second look. Maybe its me but the fun factor is a bit low and it's kind of a slog to play, I don't know we'll see.
@Funneefox Nailed it!! I had pre ordered 3 games last year and 1 year later just canceled them, waiting over a year is unacceptable for ANY company and until Strictly Limited get themselves in order, I will never order from them again. Limited Run here in the US is slightly better but not by much, ther are a handful of other companies with "limited edition" games that generally get them to you in a month or two if that just do some research, and you can get most of the games in English for that matter from Play-Asia right now, unless you absolutely must have that sticker set or mug stay far away from Strictly Limited.
So I’m gonna say this I wouldn’t rely on strictly limited games for anything.. it’s going on a year since I pre-ordered games and I still have not received them..and trying to get a hold of anybody is next to impossible… I’m not sure if anybody else has had this issue with them but just kind of giving you a heads up.. these games can be found at PlayAsia.com in English no less and they’re a lot more reliable than strictly limited games. Just sayin folks.
So after reading a couple reviews and spending a bunch of time with the game today, I'm not sure if I'm playing the same game as the reviewers because so far it's not vibing with me. First off the map is horrendous it needs an overhaul immediately it's next to impossible to tell where anything is on it because of the way the sprites are done.
The art style is terrible in this one I think the game's designer was going for a wintry thing movie vibe type of game.. and it's kind of bland.
The sound effects are horrible...the sound of your sword hitting the enemies is just so grating and don't get me started on the constant pinging sound when your health is low.. even on a retro-style game I thought we were past that in this day and age.
And so far the gameplay is very boring some enemies are cheap and honestly what's the point of killing any of them except to get some life and not die every once and while from the cheap hits. The weapon charge is useless because the enemies are so fast you don't have time to charge your weapon before they hit you.. so I've been avoiding them which to me seems pointless. Why are they even there when killing them reaps nothing. The first one I absolutely loved.. this one I don't know I can't put my finger on it maybe I need some more time with it but I wanted to share my thoughts here after spending a good 4 to 5 hours with it.
I had very high hopes for this because I absolutely loved the first one but everything feels like a step back and I'm really disappointed in my purchase.
At least he addressed the delay with this title, I have three pre-orders from Strictly Limited games from the UK and it's been months with nothing from them and constant delays, I will never purchase another item from them again and I'm still wondering if I will even receive any games at all at this point.
This one is making me nervous, first it was delayed and I don't know, I'm having a lot of issues with ports to the switch similar to this style of game. A lot of them are not running properly case in point Close to the sun, I really wanted to like this game but UGH..it's nauseatingly {is that a word ?} unplayable, same for Phantaruk etc.. I don't know. We'll see.
Okay I love my Shmups and my bullet hells, and love my retro looking games, but this looks terrible, and East Asia soft where’s the Switch port of the Soldner X series of games, that needs a whole new audience and should be ported over soon. 😁
@Stingbot_Games After reading the response to the NintendoLife review I'm sold plus the game is on sale this week in NA. So I'm picking it up, I'm all about my indies!
Here in the us its a penny.. take your penny and put it in your child's piggy bank if you like... take that Penny and use it on a scratcher ticket ..this game is absolute rubbish I need someone to post a video of them actually clearing the first level or even getting into the first level without any type of cheat if it even exists. This may very well be the worst attempt at a shmup I've ever seen in my lifetime of Gaming. And I'm all for indie games but this is complete garbage.
Anima was one of the few games that made me want to hurl my controller, uneven difficulty spikes and abyssmal platforming, it really was bad and I really tried to like the game but too many issues plagued it. Hopefully they can address those issues on the switch release...but highly doubtful.
So here's my issue, this has the same nausea inducing movement as Tiny Galaxy and as I recall the review for that one wasn't very good because of that reason, the trailer for this one made me a bit nauseous so I'm not sure how this one is going to fare the premise is good but the execution not so much.
So I'm curious about this game however like it was mentioned there's no videos no actual gameplay photos no nothing except a title screen ..a picture of space.. and wave completed images. That alone makes me nervous and I'm wondering if it's just shovelware.
