Re: Metroid Prime Hunters Designer Would Love To See The Game Remade Today

toasterbath

I played the hell out of this game and it was a glorious glitchy mess.
Shoot a rocket at your feet while moving backward into a wall - bam you pass through the wall and can shoot through it to hit players who can’t see or hit you.
Charge Noxus’ ice gun. Be far away from an enemy, but be on the same height and face them. Aim down, release. Noxus’ short range ice gun will freeze them from a distance - known as ‘shadow freeze’ back in the day.

And finally, trace and silus were the only good hunters, maybe spire because he had a small head. You could pull off some nice tricks with silus’ alt form to catch people in its 3 point triangle Insta kill trap thing.

Damn this game was sick. Shame about all the cheaters.

Re: Switch Hackers Add Controller Pak Support To The N64's Online Library

@Clyde_Radcliffe You're forgetting that this is an emulator and not a real console. If this feature was not possible to support, then surely adding a pak switching option should be possible, as has been the case with fan emulators for years - if they haven't worked out game specific hacks to enable both already. We know Nintendo actually applied a hack to Winback to remove a save pak nag it gives you.

The issue we are having is that we are being served an experience that is incomplete or missing functionality for a premium price that is double the standard subscription (in my country). Don't forget that on top of this, we are also getting some incomplete and otherwise poor emulation and I'm sure you'll start to see where a lot of people are getting frustrated with this.

Re: Another Game Has Been Delisted From Nintendo's 3DS eShop

The game wasn’t that good to be honest. I really didn’t enjoy it. It was a valiant attempt, but I think the different game types weren’t really engaging and fun in the same way that say, dodging in a bullet hell is.

But hey hope the dev comes back with something bigger and better. It was a valiant first game release.

Re: Nintendo Reveals The Top 15 Most-Downloaded Switch Games In December 2021 (Europe)

@NintendoWife With respect, that's completely wrong my man. In practise mode, after finishing your game, press Y to replay it. The prompt for it is in the bottom right corner of the results screen.
For multiplayer, choose the non-roulette option and you can replay the exact game over and over again, providing the selecting player elects to do so.

I definitely disagree on the content not being put together lovingly - but we won't go anywhere arguing over that. Though If I may say, you do sound a bit jaded as far as this game goes. Shame you don't like it, good luck with the rest of your games.

Re: Legendary SNES Emulator Liberated Using NSA Tool

@Papichulo Hey bro! This got me curious so I looked it up. Looks like the last update on github was July 2020 - very impressive indeed for such a niche system, but I feel that it's a bit too generous to say it is being updated regularly while in the same breath acknowledging it has incompatibilities.

Don't get me wrong, I really like the Wii RX emulator forks. I love the interface, and I love that it can turn a cheap Wii into an emulation boss. However I feel you are being a little too kind to it - it's still inferior to anything that can run the newest Snes9x Retroarch cores (such as a raspi).

@NintendoWife You might be missing the point of this game, bro.
Big Brain Academy is not an epic adventure with new things to discover, it's an experience in which you practise and improve at the mini-games, which is fun and rewarding for many reasons.

Multiplayer with three other friends on the higher difficulties is where this game truly shines, especially when everyone has their own strengths and weaknesses in different games. Everyone agreeing to play every game on Elite difficulty really raises the stakes, and this amplifies the joy in clutching out a victory or the frustration in making a mistake.

I hope you can find friends who enjoy this game like we did, because it really is a unique treat

Re: Zelda: Breath Of The Wild 'Second Wind' Mod Gets Its Biggest Update Yet

Looks pretty damn cool! My wii U is modded, might give this a go. Looks like a lot of polish for what is a fan mod.

This reminds me a bit of Project M, a fan made Smash Bros Brawl mod. They did a great job polishing and balancing that game over the years and eventually the devs found work as game devs. So fan projects can produce great things sometimes!

Re: Nintendo 64 And Sega Genesis 'Expansion Pack' Announced For Switch Online, Launches This October

@progx That's a very intense set of changes when you think about it! Though in my opinion, it doesn't make them any less of a money grubbing corporation than they ever were.

If there's any one significant change in N's business practises, it's the aftersale. DLC, subscription and encouraging digital software purchases over they physical, and lets not forget the expensive price of hardware - we definitely didn't see anything like this in the Wii era.

It is what it is, and we can only control our own lives. So play on my man.

Sometimes reading these comments, I feel like you guys haven't adjusted your expectations.
Nintendo COULD do so much with this platform and bring us so many cool games - this is definitely true. But it's been years and years and they haven't, nor are they ever likely to.

At the end of the day, like with all things in like, it is what it is. And for what it is, I think it's alright. I always enjoy replaying OOT and I've never had a sega, so this would be a good way for me to try some of those games too. It's nowhere near as complete a library as retropie but they've picked a few winners.

If you're not getting it, I hope you continue to enjoy video games. If you do get it, I hope it meets your expectations. Enjoy your lives guys, life is too short to spend energy getting mad at a greedy corporation.

I rate this one quite highly. It had a bit of a rough first impression for me, but picked up quickly. Ended up being quite a heartwarming (or bittersweet) tale for my first playthrough, and I'm really looking forward to finishing it another two times.
