Re: Square Enix Planning "Multiple New Titles" And New IP

"Square Enix has had a solid year on the Switch with these four old ass games"
There's your answer
They're too lazy to translate anything, and they're just porting crusty games to avoid doing anything meaningful
If they wanna rely on ports, FF pixel remaster, Chrono Trigger, old Dragon Quest games would work

Re: Video: Does The Switch Actually Feel 'Old' Yet?

It really doesn't, I mean Nintendo have basically stretched out the first 1-2 years of a console over this 6 years.
Over-reliance on ports, embarrassingly limited retro selection, online service has very little to offer, only one Mario game, no Mario Kart.
That's literally the standards of a launch window.

I mean, I gotta hand it to Nintendo, they have a barren library like the Wii U era but they instead have filled it with old games to make it seem like there are games. But yeah, we now have about as much as the first 2-3 years of the Wii, and we're 6 years in.

And I know people like defending this PS4/Steam/Wii U emulator, so I have a simple challenge for you. How many Switch top 10 lists have you seen that DON'T include Wii U games or other ports?

At this point I think Smash is done, really all they need to do at this point is just port Ultimate eternally. You can't go bigger, and anything less is a downgrade (in terms of roster, it still didn't have Brawl's level of single player).

I think like, port Ultimate as a base, then just... A character pack or two (with a story mode) as DLC, and just keep porting it every console gen with character updates.

@NinjaGuy69 No way people STILL have this mindset in the 20's, when we've had about 20 years to get our heads round that concept
By that logic you shouldn't be buying games digitally, or downloading music, or subscribing to streaming, because you're spending money on something you're not physically holding.
Just how far back in the past are you stuck exactly?

It's really quite alarming that several ports, a Pokemon spin-off and an 8 hour platformer (as amazing as Snap and Dread are) are so high here.
Imagine Best Wii Games of 2009 list where the top 5 includes New Play Control Pikmin 2, Majora's Mask (Virtual Console), with Other M being the best game that year
Really hoping 2022 brings us new Switch games, other than the 6 we currently know about
