CURSES!!! Another month no wii games, no 64 games, and we still havent even gotten our first gamecube game! As if we were a starving school of fish, Nintendo tosses us a few scraps, and they figure that should hold us off for a while.

What a weird article. Essentially, you are attempting to justify why I should spend more for your product. Despite what the competition is priced at, and despite what the quality of your games might be, I should pay more for your games. It seemed as if you were trying to garner sympathy for the game developers, "The victims here are creators, be in absolutely no doubt of that". How about Ill pay $20 for your game if you buy my book? That certainly sounds like a good deal. You dont discuss the prices of indie games for xbox or playstation. I have always been just nintendo, so i wouldnt know. Out of curiosity, after I read your article I looked that up. How do you explain xbox could charge $1 for their games, but nintendo has to charge $20? It seems the answer to your problem, isn't bilking the consumer $20 for a game we could beat in three hours, but rather selling more wiiu. Divest your energy not in writing these sappy scripts about how tough it is for these game developers, but rather try helping nintendo sell more consoles. Make some great games that sell nintendos. That is what you should be trying to do.

Defend nintendos handling of their virtual console all you want, but with the greatest library of games, nintendo should be releasing more vc games. If only they released as many as on the wii, not to mention those vauge mentions of gamecube being on the wii u vc when the wii u first came out. Ive always been a devoted nintendo fan. The way theyve handled the wii u vc has made me a bitter old man.

Mario 64 has been my favorite game for a long time. If you remember the amazement of going over your buddies house back in the day and freely walking around this world brimming with mushrooms and koopas, the game will have a special place in your heart. Look at games before mario 64. Like b.c. and a.c. its also one of those few games i could beat time and again (R.E.4). I try to beat it quicker everytime. By the way, galaxy 2 recently became my favorite game!

@JaxonH i hope your right. Maybe if on wii u launch day the vc was packed with n64 and gamecube games, sales wouldve been better. However, i guess thats easier said than done.

4. Since we dont have any for the wii u, thatd be nice to get mario golf. I love that game. What do you think of it?

For nintendo to redeem themselves, they need to start putting ALOT of 64 games on the VC, like libraries worth, Of course we havent even heard one word about gamecube. 64 games were on the wii. The wii u can finally play games we could play on the wii. One of the reasons I got the wii u were from vague mentions of the wii u having gamecube and 64 games on its vc. That would have been awesome. Mario 64 was my favorite game of all times (until mario galaxy 2). Now if we can just put resident evil 4 up, my prayers for the past 7 years will finally be completely answered!

@aaronsullivan I guess im the only one who has a problem with this. but for starters there hasnt been an n64 game on the wii u VC ever, nor are there gamecube games. I know if you got the game through the wii vc, and you have a wii remote, and you click into the wii folder you can play it. I agree with that 100%. So technically you could play these games on the wii u. But why dont you think nintendo has ever downloaded a game from a more recent system than super nintendo for the wii u vc? Thats all Im asking. I d love an answer.

@TingLz This argument is futile. Yes I can buy n64 games on my wii u, but through my wii and with my wii controler. We can argue for the sake of arguing, some people really enjoy it. But Im just asking for nintendo to place some more n64 games (or gamecube games) on their vc. they havent once with the wii u. Yes, technically I can play an n64 game that was uploaded to the wii vc ten years ago on my wii u. Ive never argued that. I dont think Im alone in wanting a bigger selection of games more recent on the wii u vc than super nintendo

@TingLz Okay. I dont understand what you are arguing. Theres a reason why Nintendo has never released a gamecube let alone an N64 game on the wii u vc, cause they cant. I know I could play it on my wiiu, although i need my wii controller and if I didnt get the game while I had a wii, then im out of luck. Technically I can play the game on my wii u. Im the first to admit that.

@Vineleaf Saturn was great! I loved battle arena. It replaced the genesis right? The atari 7800. First was 2600 and then 5200. I cant remember the 7800. So many good games on them! Im starting to drool.

@TingLz I know that. but the fact that I can only play n64 games I downloaded on my wii and I have to use my wiimote, and i need to switch to the wii folder in order to even access the game, means I cant play them on my wiiu.

People are talking about buying this game because of the art work on the side. Really? If centerfolds of Miss September and Miss October were on the sides and the game was a series of blinking dots I still wouldnt get it.

@Kevlar44 I could play the n64 games I downloaded on my wii on my wii u. Though I have to go back into my wii folder and play the game using my wii remote. Keep in mind, nintendo has yet to release one n64 game or gamecube for that matter, that I could download to my wii u.

@Quorthon You said "backwards compatability". I didnt. The wii had n64 games on their vc. The wiiu doesnt. I could go back to my wii and play n64 games that i got on my wii. But the wii u doesnt offer them. That is one feature I could access on my wii that I cant on my wii u. Show me another console in history that is inferior to the one that it replaced.

One of the most exciting things when the wii u came out, were these little snippets of rumor from nintendo that it would have Gamecube games on the VC. That got me really excited. of course I assumed the WII U would have N64 games, since the WII did. This is the first video game console in history not able to support the features of its predecessor. After the mile long chain of disappointments Nintendo fans have had to endure, the latest being Zelda, the ONLY thing they could do to redeem themselves would be a massive VC library of Gamecube and N64. Though since it hasnt happened yet, I doubt it ever will! Bummer.

why are they making such a big deal about this game? Zelda games have been some of my favorite...ever. However, this isn't a Zelda game, besides a word in the title. I have absolutely no desire to play this.

@ninjapigstudios if you design another brain game, please seek my assistance first. As soon as I read that ill worded ad, I didn't expect much. Still no N64, let alone Gamecube. Considering the WII could play these games, I suppose the WII U is the first more recent console that has less capabilities than the consoles before it. And please don't say I could play n64 games on the wii u if I go into "wii" mode. I need to get batteries for my wiimote, and I cant use my awesome wii u controller. I remember a few months ago there was a big story on this site about how n64 games were "rated" for virtual console. I knew they were just pulling ourchains. Why must you torment me so Nintendo?

I love brain games. So I certainly was intrigued when I read this. it looked sort of dopey. If you are marketing an intelligence game, chances are that demographic wont care too much about "funny noises and cute characters". By all means a vigorous brain exercise can come in any shape or form. I can go wrong with four bucks, less than a of smokes. But when I read its only 20 questions, assuming those pictures are some of the questions, then three of the 20 can be done by my cat. Thanks for the heads up, dude. Keep on truckin'

I really wouldn't hold your breath for any vc games from consoles better than super Nintendo. Playing those old games was the best part of my wii. When I first heard mentions of the wii u, talk of the wii u vc included n64 AND gamecube games. I was so excited! Im confident that whatever technical limitations have prohibited Nintendo from putting up n64 games on wii u vc for the last few years hasn't changed. There's a reason why Link to the Past is the most high tech game on wii u vc.

I played this game, and it was cool.....twenty years ago. Ill definitely pick it up, and check out its scores on the tests of time.

ive never done anything with these "coins", but Mario Golf 64 could be one of my favorite games ever. I have it on my wii, but of course I can't play it on my wii u. If I get this, could I play it on my wii u? That's been my dream. Someone please answer me.

Look like a fun game. but its just such a bummer that the wii u vc suffered a platform downgrade from the wii. Gamecube would've been awesome, but in the least there should be n64! Has that ever happened in the history of gaming, that a more recent platform has less gaming platform potential than the previous console? Good grief. Ive always been just Nintendo. Never had a playstation or xbox. I feel betrayed. As if the wii u controller snuck into my kitchen while I was asleep and ate my pudding.

I enjoy playing on the gamepad. But if the gamepad is the reason why there are no N64 games (or gamecube) on the wii u, which was one of the reasons I got the wii u, I would gladly play those games not on my gamepad.

one of the reasons I bought the wii u, was that I read mentions of gamecube games coming to the vc. I guess that turned out to be false. Not even N64 games though, that were available on the wii?! what a huge disappointment.

after reading this checked it out on youtube. Yes, the graphics are amazing. But the game seems to be just a platform. Am I missing something? 30 bucks for a wiiuware platform game? kind of steep. the guy said the game cost 5 million to make. that isn't a good justification for me.

@daisaku36 if they don't put games on the wii u vc simply because you could access them on the wii, why would they bother putting nes games that are already on the wii vc?

why have we yet to receive any 64 games? I bought my wii u after reading on the internet that one day n64 games would appear.

I actually like this game a lot. YES!!! As the reviewer extrapolates, the controls are sensitive. But that's the whole point of the game, guiding this ball around an obstacle course. Would the reviewer prefer if it was easier? Not many wiiu ware games out that I like. This is one though. Gets sort of tough and some of the puzzles require you to do stunts only possible after many attempts. Frustrating and challenging only makes it more satisfying whne you beat the level.
