@JohnnyMind That also applies outside of video games. Along with my aforementioned Jimmy Neutron comparison. I swear that stuff like some of the VFX/SFX in Bond movies or even some of the old Hanna-Barbera cartoons would have people screaming across the halls "AI! AI!" if they were made today.
It's also funny how these people often have Clippy PFPs, who if Clippy was introduced today, people would be wailing at the idea of a chatbot, even someone as utterly simplistic (by today's standards) as Clippy. Oh yeah, also, screaming about how there could've been 4 humans controlling the ghosts in Pac-Man.
@steizgr8 Also, one final thing. Books have far from gone digital. Barnes & Noble is still open and hasn't gone the way of Blockbuster, and also also, they still make DVDs, and the AI hardware crisis doesn't matter since used DVD players are like $10 at Goodwill and other thrift stores.
@Gamer83 That's a good point. But, I'm honestly an optimist, so I like to end stuff on a good note. The good note is that if the Saudis who are investing in SNK really go after Mai hard, then she'd likely be censored enough to be viable for the E10+ rated Smash.
@steizgr8 Food's already practically a service. You can't have your cake and eat it too. Also, the WEF said "You'll own nothing and be happy" years ago. It's been a problem since before AI. Heck, it's been a problem since even before WEF said that. It stems from the 2008 financial crisis and people's general laziness.
@Gamer83 It's because of CERO and American influence. Also, even without the Saudis, pressure from eSports and easily offended politically correct babies are already leading Capcom to step back. Finally, the war in the Middle East will likely burst Saudi's economic bubble.
@Max_the_German Weren't the tariffs deemed unconstitutional? Also, the whole pause is because Nintendo's argument is technically illegal under the 1974 Trade Act.
First speaking appearance since Super Mario Advance for the two. First FULL sentences of Mouser since Super Show back in '89, first FULL sentences of Wart... at least in English.
@swoose The profit for games is minimal compared to merchandising. Pokémon is just one of those franchises that makes bank on licenses. Think about Snoopy, or Hello Kity, or Winnie the Pooh, or Mickey Mouse... Most of their profits are on merchandising lol.
@HugoGED Funny thing is that Microsoft/Sony release a ton of codes-on-disc. Wouldn't be surprised if some of them are smaller than Super Nintendo games lol.
@SuperEndriu Let's not forget what's outside the box. The Mario Galaxy movie is coming out and stuff like the Pokémon cards are still selling. Nintendo has a lot of backup on them.
Okay... is StarFox even remotely popular in Singapore? I'm not too knowledgable on int'l IP popularities, but I just don't think StarFox is that popular in that region.
@weisske Nintendoes what Steam can't and that's actually get their portable consoles off the shelves. Steam Deck, all these years later, still makes the Wii U look like a best seller with only 6mil sold.

I swear that if Jimmy Neutron came out today, people would cry and say the show was generated by AI.
Re: Saudi Investment Firm Acquires A Significant Number Of Capcom Shares
@Gamer83 Same here.

@Mana_Knight "Our deaths were, greatly exaggerated"
First speaking appearance since Super Mario Advance for the two. First FULL sentences of Mouser since Super Show back in '89, first FULL sentences of Wart... at least in English.
Re: Nintendo Direct For The Super Mario Galaxy Movie Announced
@Diowine Is there a Link equivalent to the "Sad Mario" crappost?
Re: Nintendo's Share Price Drops 11% Following Its Financial Release
@Dr_Lugae Exactly. It's like cleaning a landfill. Sure, thousands of dollars worth of trash would be destroyed, but its for the greater good.

@OmnitronVariant Clippy pfp says the darndest things
Re: Nintendo's Share Price Drops 11% Following Its Financial Release
@Solid_Python I hope Microsoft's stock falling is a sign.
Re: Nintendo's Share Price Drops 11% Following Its Financial Release
Investors clearly live on another planet. But hey... anyone remember the whole GameStop thing or Occupy Wall Street?
Re: Nintendo To Acquire Bandai Namco Studios Singapore As A Subsidiary

Re: Switch 2 Black Friday Deals Are A Bit 'Meh', But Here Are The Best We've Seen
Well... I mean, while they weren't as insane as like six months ago, the import taxes are still somewhat present.
Many may also point out the ongoing RAM shortage, but Nintendo has a contract signed with nVidia. They likely wouldn't feel the worst of it.
Re: Feature: The Tightest, Briskest Mario & Luigi Game Turns 20 Today And Deserves More Love
The sad thing about this game is that if it came out today, the L33T H4MM3R BR05 would be "Skibidi Rizzler Hammer Bros." or something.
Re: Valve's Steam Client Adds Switch 2 Pro Controller Support
@NolandC Thanks for basically telling me you don't touch grass.

Re: Notorious Group 'Crimson Collective' Claims To Have Hacked Nintendo
@Coalescence Exactly. It's not like the 2020 leak. They're probably just looking to leak user info, not freaking 30 year old games
Re: Notorious Group 'Crimson Collective' Claims To Have Hacked Nintendo
@Pipulitoch Nintendoes what Epstein't.
Re: Notorious Group 'Crimson Collective' Claims To Have Hacked Nintendo
@itsapossum Quantum development will basically grind to a halt when the AI bubble bursts.
Re: Notorious Group 'Crimson Collective' Claims To Have Hacked Nintendo
In the case of the 72 hour rule, we'd likely see Nintendo make an official statement by 2:18 AM EST tomorrow.
Re: Notorious Group 'Crimson Collective' Claims To Have Hacked Nintendo
@Erigen You'd think, but no. It's not GameFreak's servers.
Re: Notorious Group 'Crimson Collective' Claims To Have Hacked Nintendo
I think I've heard some mumblings that this is merely the Japanese website source code.
Also, companies legally have to report cyberincidents within 72 hours (3 days).
Also also, Nintendo is known for being quiet as possible.
Re: Notorious Group 'Crimson Collective' Claims To Have Hacked Nintendo
@poyo_pie Exactly.
Re: Notorious Group 'Crimson Collective' Claims To Have Hacked Nintendo
@Ravenmaster For whom? Nintendo, the hackers or both?
