Re: Review: 101-in-1 Explosive Megamix (WiiWare)

longtimegamer

Well... I bought this this weekend and just opened every game. They apparently changed this a little from the ds game too (There were 10 games open at the start instead of 5, the music didn't seem as irritating as the DS one, and apparently they took at least one game, that I knew of, out). The controls were decent, I thought. As a matter of fact I didn't have any real problem with the basketball game myself. I liked how it felt when you were throwing throw (which, if if it was done by regular controls, I don't think I would have enjoyed it as much. Though there was nothing else to it). You have to practice a little, but I didn't have an issue with it (I rest my arm on the recliner arm, FYI). No issue with the skydiver one either and I used the onscreen controls. I didn't like the few waggling ones as much though (Particularly the Roach Race. I didn't get a feeling that I was really affecting it's speed much. Plus it had me pressing the b button. I could not really tell why they needed to do this, unless they thought they'd add it to change things up a bit. Anyways.... the roach just seemed to go forword at a steady pace and I really couldn't tell that I was affecting it, other than the fact that I wasn't falling behind the other roach (When I wasn't.), or button command going off after I pressed it and at least one time the finish line seemed to come quicker.
I was disappointed that they seemed to take out at least one game that I had seen on the ds videos (the card tower one). Though it may be because they felt that game wouldn't work as well with the wiimote.

Over all this is just a bunch of simple mini games to waste time. The controls to me seemed fine (I met or beat the required score, except for about 9 as of now).
I don't think I'd actually recommend this, though I did get some entertainment from it. For example: There was this one game where you had to throw food at flies, another one where you catapulted Romeo to a seemingly obesse Juliet's arms. I did, however, feel differently on certain points that the reviewer made, which I wanted to bring up.

One more thing. There was a soduku game that I went through once and decided to go through again to see if it changed. It did, but the 2nd time I went through I was stuck until I realized that they must have left a number or so out (At least I think so) that I needed, to figure where everything went. I was able to complete it though, as I just put in the numbers that I had yet to put in. I just made sure that the numbers, that were the same didn't cross each other when I put them down.

Edit: I finally beat the roach game. I worked fine this time. May I wasn't waving it right(or fast enough) before?

@Rorylee: I've had this since day one, oon after I saw how much Corbie liked it.

I haven't played as much as I would have liked so that I could make better scores online. I do agree it's a pretty fun game. I think I actually like it better than excitebike. Alot of stuff to it. This is why I wasn't on GoldenEye very much lately. Still have to try the buddy league on it though. There's humor in this too.

Trenches General has Zombies in it somewhere. It'll be cool if the wiiware version has this too. If it does then it automatically scores points with me. Gotta love zombies. Zombies make everything better

Hmmmmmm.......Do they taste great in milk?? . . .~Ok that's at least one thing with zombies that I won't try.

Re: Nintendo Download: 18th August 2011 (North America)

@Pizzacore: Yeah. Should have been less if it's exactly the same as the origional.

Is there nothing at all different about it? It doesn't have a "score"board, for lack of a better word to atleast keep track of how far you went? That way you can see how well you did each time?

edit: Do you have the ability to suspend a game and come back to it?

@Pizzacore and Gavin: Honestly I'm surprised you guys liked as I remember it being such simple game (Not much variety, although there are people that like getting game and watch games too. At least you're trying to see the good in it, now that you've got it.
It's been so long since I'd play UC that I'll have to look up the video now to se if memory serves.

@For anyone else: Check out a video first at least, just to have an idea of what you're in for.

Re: Talking Point: What If Nintendo Became a Third Party?

longtimegamer

Smartphones Nintendo don't need no stinkin smartphones! I think it's insulting that those investers (or whatever) even suggested that Nintendo needed to do that. Those apps on smartphones do well because they're so cheap, also you don't worry so much about taking a risk on some of these with games that have a 99 cent pricetag.
I also think that if Nintendo had to work under Sony or Microsoft that they may be hindered when it comes to be able to do what they want in/for games.
I think they'll do just fine. They just needed to lower the price I guess.
Also, others may make better versions of things that Nintendo started but, that's after the fact that Nintendo did it.

edit: Having nintendo have to work under another company would be like seeing Batman become a sidekick.

Re: Review: Wii Play: Motion (Wii)

@Whoever does the banners for these reviewed games probably should use a different color font for the title, as I could not read what it was with the white background. Just thought I'd let you know.

edit: The trigger twist and ghost concept of pointing off the screen sound interesting. I'll have to at least try this someday.@

Re: New 3DS System Update Warns You About Piracy

longtimegamer

@TBD: Well, sometimes I believe people buy games that they don't know are pirated. I think you have to know what to look for on a gba game to know if it was a pirated one.

Anyway, my point is that it would kinda suck if someone got one of these (like on ebay or something) and didn't know it wasn't a legal copy and got bricked. I know I'd be p*ssed, since alot of games I buy are used, I could see the possibility of this happening somehow.

edit:@Samholy: Dang! you beat me to it. I guess I really took a long time trying to write MY comment.

Re: Review: Chrono Trigger (Virtual Console / Super Nintendo)

longtimegamer

It has been a loooooong time since I first played this (Long enough that I don't remember which ending or endings that I got, nor the story. I need to see if I still have this for the SNES. Of Course if I wanted to play it, I'd have to hook for and hook uo my SNES. ~Though I could download this for the convenience.

@pixelman: LOL! Come on! You don't like Bingo?
Personally I'm not so sure how fun a bingo game would be without real (or at least Good virtual prizes. There's no skill to this. Just luck.
I AM however happy for the bit trip Runner demo. Now I can see what I think of it before I buy.

Re: Sony CEO Refers to Nintendo Handhelds as "Babysitting Tools"

longtimegamer

He's an Idiot! I'm older than alot of people on this site and I play GBA,DS,ect... Any handheld, even psp (if I had it working right) no matter what people think (Though probably not at my friends gallery. ). Now if it was a Leapfrog system..... Different story.

Edit: Basically, I'm a gamer and I'll play on on what I want and where I feel like playing.

Re: Nintendo Uncertain Whether 3DS Demos will be Worth the Effort

longtimegamer

@WaltzElf: Yes. Of course Nintendo probably feel the demos help THEIR sales. People already buy alot of them just because Nintendo's Rep. Some of these other companys aren't well known yet or have not yet made that type of reputation (yet at least) that would make a consumer feel fairly safe in the quality of game they'll recieve. Not only that..but how would you know if a particular type of game would even interest you.

Re: What Do You Make of This 3DS Prototype?

longtimegamer

They could have done this by putting both on a pull-out (To make room to switch them around) swivel base to switch around, but still keep it connected to th unit. Then you wouldn't lose anything. Be a little slicker way of doing it

Re: What Do You Make of This 3DS Prototype?

longtimegamer

I was actually thinking of something like this as solution for the 3ds, if people didn't like where it was already place. Neat to see that they had previously thought of this too.

Edit: I do agree that this would be a way to lose parts, if not break something easier.
