Re: Wii U Selling 1.2 Games Per Console In North America

krunchykhaos

Those saying the system is expensive need to stop and think. It IS a next gen system with a fairly advanced controller so for 300$ thats not expensive when looking at the whole scheme of things. Say they went and added a bunch of needless hardware features. Say they added a bluray player. The 32 gig wouldve been 450$ or more. Say they added a standard harddrive like the ps360. Youre looking at an even worse price. Considering the industry now does 350 sound so expensive anymore? Be realistic. Considering what it is 350 is a great deal and waiting to release bigger titles gives people more time to plan accordingly. Nintendo isn't stupid. Remember the wii was a business decision. Don't gauge their future on the first quarter of sales. Thats ridiculous.

Re: Talking Point: Time for Wii U to Treat Us Like Adults

Personally, this doesn't effect me. I can see how this could be an issue with some people but in my experience a lot of mature games that people buy are usually bought in store. If something like this is complained about there really isnt a real case. If you want the game and you have the money just go buy it. Better yet rent it. There is no warranty on a digital copy.

@Gigagator
Well i disagree on a couple things. One: the "inevitability" of the next consoles being noticeably stronger has yet to be seen and what i've personally seen so far isn't impressive. (As far as gaming goes). The way the WiiU is built may as well put it on a higher visual level. I've heard reliable sources say that it is going to support UR4 and cryengine 3 (at a higher level than the current gens are) we can than Retro for that. Everything i've seen seems to point to Retro saving the WiiU for hardcore games. At the very least it will bring the gaming market to a preference level instead of a "MY SYSTEM IS MORE POWERFUL" level.

@Einherjar
There needs to be an "FYI" post about framerate because it seems that people's memory is terrible. Remember the launch for the 360? Yeah, perfect example. This is less a problem of capability and more developer motivation. What Nintendo really needs to do is make a BEAST of a first party title to show it's horsepower and third party guys will rethink themselves. Kind of like how Valve talked poo about the PS3 yet in the end apologized for being wrong.

@Jellitoe
I disagree. Considering that the WiiU has different hardware that developers are new to on consoles it's been nice. AC3 seems to be the best port. That being said what's been done as far as indie games have shown vast potential in all directions for the system. Maybe the launch, aside from sales, wasn't what everyone desired but the future looks exciting for Nintendo. For me the biggest surprises have come from aspects of their software. If anything, Nintendo pulled out a very nice interface. There's still a lot to be discovered about this system and that is something to be happy about.

@Raiko lol me too i started it right when i got it and expected to wait A while so i went out to eat. I came back excited and saw that 30 minutes went by....then i got depressed but then i saw it was done and i was all happy face.

Re: Hardware Review: Wii U

krunchykhaos

I think the hardware is going To surprise a lot of people. The system is basically the board with a case thats not much different than the ps3s board. The next few years are going to be fun to watch for all the nintendo faithful. Great looking first party games with some awesome third party (i have my scope on aliens right now) seems to be the future. At the least itll be better than the last gen. Thats all i can ask for. Im a happy fan right now

Re: Hacker Claims To Have Deciphered Wii U CPU and GPU Speeds

krunchykhaos

Everyone that believes this before it is concrete needs to calm their tits. I highly doubt this is correct. The whole issue here is that because of the Wii so many people have put Nintendo on the backburner for having great visuals. That's where people need to learn how to stop talking and start paying attention. In it's first week ZombiU showed a vastly significant upgrade from the Wii and would be a good looking game even for a ps360 but that's still not it's full potential. Ubisoft isn't exactly the greatest visually producing developers in the world for consoles. (AC3 in my opinion looked better on the WiiU) Everyone, needs to wait and watch instead of spouting off at the mouth speculating on what it can or can't do based on what LIMITED knowledge everyone has about it's hardware.

@deejrandom

Excuse me, but it seems you already know what sony and microsoft are using. Visually, I can tell you now, the systems will be too close for normal gamers to tell or care. I know because I've watched their dev kits closely. The next 5-6 years will not be dominated by sony or microsoft. I assure you that. Wait until developers unlock what the gpgpu can do.

Re: Reggie: Sony and Microsoft Need To React To What Nintendo Is Doing With Wii U

krunchykhaos

Everyone needs to slow down. Microsoft and sony have their dev kits out and tech previews of what they will put into them. From what i've gathered its not a noticeable difference in power. The only difference this time around will be gamer preference. Words need to stop and people need to allow this system to prove itself. Remember the zelda tech demo? A dude at epic even said the wiiu can do better than that. Chill and enjoy what we're all going to be given.
