The game is flawed (story, character development, all around stupidity of "unlocking" Samus' abilities) but the biggest problem for me was that it was too easy. Pathetically easy. Even on the hardest setting, I only died three times... all on Ridley and his hax. Also, certain aspects of the game were badly designed (first-person search-fests and a dodging mechanic that made you practically untouchable and almost broke the game) but I blame that on Team Ninja whose games never have any sense of balance to them (Ninja Gaiden, Dead or Alive, well... everything they have ever done). Just pointing out it's flaws. I enjoyed the game but it's nowhere near Super Metroid or the Prime trilogy.
I'm not surprised that even a good Sonic game would have trouble in the sales department. You feed crap to your fans for 10 years (excluding the Advance series and the first Rush), many will simply not care anymore and find a better archetype to fill the Sonic mascot void (Mario, Ratchet, Sly Cooper, Klonoa, etc.).
The older I get, the less I miss about the 8-bit era. Nostalgia creeps in on some 8-bit memories (first time playing SMB and The Guardian Legend, etc.) but I miss the PS1-N64 and (especially) the PS2-Dreamcast eras the most now. Those are the eras I got the most enjoyment out of the games and systems.
Decent game, enjoyed it but not as much as I enjoyed the Prime series. The forced first-person mechanic and the terrible story (especially how the story was presented: over-dramatic cut scenes with not-so-good voice acting) need to go. The game was also easy (even on hard, the only boss that killed me more than once was Ridley). But thanks for bringing back a certain boss from Fusion.
I applaud trying to focus on Samus' character but I liked her better as a silent, solitary bada** instead of a brooding, introspective doormat.
I love Nintendo but they screwed the pooch with this series after the N64. Hideki Kamiya said he wants to make a new Star Fox game. LET HIM and then stay out of his way.
I was interested in this game until the lead designer said that the target audience for Sonic Colours is children. Fingers still crossed for Sonic 4 though.
@34 Yes. This article even called it a "standard first-person shooter with a Bond lick of paint." That's not a ringing endorsement for a game solely relying on nostalgia as a selling point.
Cross was a better game than Trigger, in design, characters, story, and gameplay. People hate Cross because they thought it was a direct sequel to Trigger. It's not and never was. There's no reason to make a direct sequel to Trigger. It will be the terrible FFX-2 all over again.
Well, chalk up that upcoming DS Final Fantasy game to be one of the bad games because that looks just flat out terrible compared to every other RPG coming out on any system this year (especially when compared to DQIX, EOIII, and Ys 7).
No thanks. Getting it for PS3. TvC was built for the Wii which is why it was good. MvC3 would be a watered down port. Wii ports = terribly bad compared to the originals.

Re: Will We See a Zelda 25th Anniversary Collection this Year?
It better not be a letdown like the Super Mario Collection was.
Re: Zelda: Skyward Sword Getting "Finishing Touches"
I hope it's not pushed back because the term "finishing touches" has been the kiss of delay for many games.
Re: Talking Point: Is the DS Dead at Retail?
I still plan on buying a DSiXL so that's one more sale at least.
Re: 3DS Hits North America on March 27 for $249.99
Glad it's only $250 but that battery life is still a deal breaker for me. Plus it never hurts to wait for a better selection of colors.
Re: Super Mario 64 is a 5-Minute Adventure With the Right Tools
Haven't played this game in over a decade and it still sounds like, "So long gay Bowser."
Re: Review: Raving Rabbids Travel in Time (Wii)
I miss Rayman.
Re: EA: Nintendo Needs to Drop Wii Price, Help Third Parties
Well, I support a price drop because at $99, I'll buy another Wii for sure.
Re: Sega's 3DS Line-Up May Include Some Old IP Revivals
Ristar. That is all.
Re: Nintendo Download: 13th December 2010 (North America)
Darius Twin was actually the game my friend always rented for us to play on his SNES (along with Top Gear). Die space-fish die.

Re: This Safe Sex Video Owes a Surprising Amount to Mario and Mega Man
Makes me wish this ran as a campaign in the USA so I could watch and laugh at the backlash from the abstinence-only crowd.
Re: Radiant Historia is Waiting for You in February 2011
Well I know what I'll be getting for my birthday in February.
Re: Wii Speak's Time is Officially Over
Anyone at Nintendo that thought Wii Speak was a good idea should be fired and pelted with gaming headsets in the town square.

You can't blame G4. Nobody with a brain watches G4.

Re: Rumour: Sonic 20th Birthday Pack Not Just Selling 16-Bit Memories
I still can't believe Super Mario World and Yoshi's Island are not part of the Wii Super Mario All-Stars disc...
Oh Sonic's getting a birthday pack too...
I mean the Wii disc can easily fit SMW and Yoshi's Island plus Super Mario Sunshine...
Re: Sega Strikes Poor Sonic Games from Catalogue to "Increase Brand Value"
Why is everyone forgetting about the Advance series? Those games were far better than any other Sonic game in the past 10 years.
Re: Captain America Bringing Justice to Wii and DS Next Year
Apparently Marvel hates Cap as much as they hate Iron Man.
Re: Nintendo Power Claims Sonic 4: Episode 1 Will Cost 1500 Points
That's a bit too expensive. 1000 would have been the better price point because it's just Episode 1.
Re: Even More Virtual Console Titles on the Way
taps foot, still waiting for The Guardian Legend and Double Dragon II.

So no Super Mario World and no Yoshi's Island... that's disappointing.
Re: Review: Professor Layton and the Unwound Future (DS)
It's time to kick *ss and solve puzzles... and I'm all outta *ss.
Re: Mario Collection Special Pack Coming to Japan
Hopefully it will also include Super Mario Word and Yoshi's Island. If it doesn't, it's not as special as the title suggests.

Half of the blame to EA. Half of the blame to Nintendo. PS3 version, here I come.

Re: Review: Star Fox Command (DS)
I really want a new Star Fox game, not a rehash like Star Fox 64 3DS. The series deserves better than that.

Final Fantasy over Okamiden, Ghost Trick, and DQIX. I Fail.

Getting it for PS3. Same with Sonic 4 (unless it's terrible).

I still have the original for PSX and the PS2 version of the sequel. Will probably get the PC HD version when it comes out.
Now we need MDK3.
