Re: Silicon Studio Near "Maximum Performance" With Wii U, 3DS Hardware

@PokeTune Match? Well, obviously not, Wii U's clearly as powerful as a seventh gen console, but I've yet to see an ugly game for the Wii U that... y'know, is good, or matters, in that case. They may not be wow-worthy, but what does it matter as long as a game is pleasant to the eyes, and looks up to date? At least it's not like the Wii, which was eons behind it's competitiors...

@HeatBombastic This is what I keep saying! These fanboys screaming about the PS4 and the Nextbox make themselves bigger than they appear, /they really aren't that vast and plentiful./ They probably rival the number of people that were excited/bought a Wii U at launch, I absolutely promise you this. I'm positive the other next gen consoles will be stuck in a slump, just the same as last generation.

This isn't a bad thing, it makes sense, I mean, it's just that more people have a smartphone than a 3DS, and popular games available for smartphones, especially those involving Facebook catch on rather quickly, and seem to yoink money out of your wallet without you even noticing. I'm frankly not surprised, it doesn't mean it's the end of handheld gaming, you have to understand most of these people don't even game regularly outside of their smartphone/pc when they're at home or something, these people are casuals, and in the end of it all, will not determine the fate of the handheld market, as real game consumers will focus on... well... handhelds! Although good quality games are becoming available on mobile devices, you just can't beat a handheld! They're designed for play on the go, playing on smartphones is simply an option, half of the time the battery isn't even built for it, you have to keep it charged all the time to play.

Re: PS4 And Next Xbox Could Share Wii U's Teething Troubles, Says Activision's Kotick

This is what I've been saying from the start! Nobody's listening, though.

And it's true, this isn't even about being a Nintendo zealot, console gaming is just going to struggle these next few years. Trust me, what's happening to the Wii U is damn well going to happen to the others. The people that are saying "PS4 is going to kick Wii U's ass in sales hahaha it's the new Dreamcast!!!" is smaller in numbers than they make themselves seem, they're probably the only ones that are going to rush out to buy the console day one, and that's saying something. I can only wonder how much these consoles are going to cost, too; from what I've seen from the PS4, I can't see it being any cheaper than 450, and even then that's being hopeful! And with the Nextbox coming with an improved Kinect already embedded to the system... well... what else is there to say?

We'll just have to wait and see, I guess! But, how much you wanna bet these two others are going to sell worse than the Wii U at launch?

Oooh so many goodies!

Tempted to buy SMB2, not sure if I should wait and see if it comes out on 3DS, it's a game I'd rather have on the go... Speaking of which, Megaman 5! Pleasant surprise.

Super Metroid for 30 cents? What a steal! Super Ghouls n Ghosts? Never beaten it. Would love to. Perfect timing.

And then there's the Revelations demo tomorrow which I'm downloading, no question. Awesome! Great update.

The Miiverse integration makes such a difference, I've noticed since F-Zero, BUT I feel they are going the wrong direction by releasing only NES games right now, and so scarcely, too. We need more SNES, and we need NES in bigger quantity. We already have NES on the 3DS; trust me, Nintendo, most of us don't care about it on the Wii U.

It was amazing to play Super Mario World on this. Miiverse really removes the feeling of "I'm playing through this old game by myself", switching to Miiverse to talk about your playthrough, and getting feedback? It's delightful. It doesn't add to the game per say, more the experience as a whole. If they can dish out more yummy SNES goodness in the next few months, I'll be happy.

@divinealpha They don't rebuild, or recode, what are you talking about? They're not going to those extremes, they're simply porting the original file. The hassle is moreso creating the emulator, I believe. After that I don't believe they have an excuse. Nor can I see the people at Nintendo going through literally nook and cranny of their Wii U VC games to make sure they run perfect; it's not out of the question, but it sounds a bit silly, don't you think?
In the end, though? What's done is done. There's really no point in me complaining.
