Drag x Drive showed some imagination but also looked half baked. Mario Kart looked polished but so far lacking a spark. The tech demo that they expect us to pay for looked dry and ugly and cold. This was an extremely underwhelming presentation. Where has the magic gone?
I don't see any reason at all to expect anything more than button mashing repetitiveness but those are some lovely graphics. If it's as imaginative and varied as Shredder's Revenge - better still, much more than that - then I'll give it a go.
Having already played it all the way through and hit as close to 100% as I could (there's one... um... equine mission you can't replay) I'm very tempted to play again rightaway. I don't exaggerate to say this is the one video game world I most enjoyed being inside. It's a truly fantastic intepretation of the books.
I hope it's a huge hit and a sequel - or DLC, perhaps teased by that final still image after the credits? - will come along.
We'll be seeing a lot of trailers and announcements with the generic 'consoles' promise instead of a fixed list, I think. At least until the Super Switch is officially announced.

The invention is off the charts but the familiar elements ground all of the new ideas in something approachable. I can't wait.
