I wasn't going to buy the Switch but I was in Toys r Us late afternoon on the launch day looking for reduced Wiiu games and I saw the last grey switch they had on the shelf and went for it. I was pleasantly surprised how user friendly it has been and I am loving Breath of the Wild. I have tried it on the TV as a console but really prefer it has a hand held. SO glad I took the punt. No regrets. 10 out of 10 Nintendo.
I have the Wii, the Wii u and the Xbox S.
Why. Because they don't make the other games I want to play, for the Wii u and Wii but they make them for the Xbox and vice versa. There is variety in my gaming . Happy Birthday Xbox.
I was kinda hoping they would do one last bundle with Breath of the Wild. But if that's not going to happen then I suppose I should look for a new spare Wii U as I have a fair few games to get through. The big question is tho how long will the Wii U support last for machine and games?
Currently playing Metroid prime Wii version and although Samus can feel a bit clunky at times when jumping from object to object. I am still amazed at how the art work and music draws you into the game. The creatures and bosses created for the game are some of the most original and fascinating I have seen in any game so far. Totally love this game and highly rate it and recommend it for gamers who love adventurers.
Latest rumor is saying that there will be no support from Western developers which means no AAA games. The support is seemingly coming from Japan and the indie developers also ports of old 360 and ps 3 games. So no point in hoping for titanfall 2
And what I mean is a mobile phone is a bad example for comparison of a console. There are too many models on the market of varying specs to say it's gonna be like your phone.
It would be nice to get back to a sensibly designed console that doesn't over complicate the gamers environment. I can happily game without the touch screen element .
Not every game is 50gb +. Titanfall is 19gb, but I take your point. How long will it take to install the games on to the card and how much writing to, can the card take as mentioned in another post.
HMV games buyer Nathan Allen also had a positive response, and expressed the desire to see Nintendo sell the console at a competitive price: I find Nathan's comments a bit more than cheeky considering my local HMV hasn't stocked Nintendo games for the last couple of years. I expressed many times to HMV staff my desire to purchase Nintendo games and was told many a time that would not be happening.
I have noticed that people are posting that they are happy to pay £249.99 and above for the switch. I paid £249.99 for the Xbox S bundled with Battle 1. If the switch is not packing something that is worth paying above the 250 - 300, I m sure people will shy away until the price falls.
I must agree after spending time flitting between the Wii, Wii U and Xbox I went back to the Nintendo machines as I love the art work and comedy elements of the Nintendo IP's. I suppose I am a Nintendo fan boy deep down but yes it would be nice to have some of the AAA games on the switch for variety.
The sensor bar for the Wii was used with the Wii u that is what I mean by old tech. So I am so hoping they have addressed this and like Jeronan said if the connectivity is in the docking station itself that could address the problems the sensor bar had when trying to detect the controllers.
Did anyone notice a sensor bar. I assume because just dance is coming to the switch there must be a sensor some where. It would be great if a better detection system has been developed. The sensor bar is so old tech. Also I hope just as much design thought has been put into the power pack so it looks part of the switch's cool look.
I would like to apologise to the community for using a profanity in my original post. It was not meant to be abusive or offensive but said in desperation.
It would be so nice if Nintendo finally got their house together and released a machine that catered for the core gamer and not the casuals that look for the gimmick.

@Siskan
I wouldn't be surprised. it is really annoying when things are not thought through properly.
Re: Nintendo Switch Patent Provides Insights Into VR Accessory and Console Touchscreen
I hope they remember that VR is useless for people who are long sighted. Having the ability to focus the head set is a must.
Re: Talking Point: Nintendo Will Rely on Switch Word of Mouth Due to Strange Presentation Timing
To be honest I have better things to do at 4 am. Like sleep. So I can be all fresh to make money to buy a switch.

That is not the point I was making. The point I was making was interpretation of the statement.

Yup. I think NVIDA saw an opportunity and ran with it and if it fails Nintendo will take the hit.
But I could be wrong.

Re: Tatsumi Kimishima Suggests Nintendo Switch Will be the Core for a Wide Array of Accessories
We want people to touch the device in January and experience the software for themselves.
Is he not talking about the demo models they are seemingly putting out, not talking about actually touching the screen.
