The switch changed my gaming life, the hybrid aspect fits my lifestyle perfectly and now I am able to play games more than ever! So far they have many quality titles out, and with E3 and the holiday season approaching, I believe it will only get better!
Feels like such a missed oportunity. A full-featured FIFA 18 on the Switch has the potential to be a bit hit and get different audiences on the platform, but I guess that won't be the case here
Since then there's been a lot of work into making games more and more accessible. Granted that we have good and bad cases of that all over the industry, but at the end of the day, I'm really happy with Nintendo's approach to most games: usually easy to learn, but there's a lot of depth in there if you're interested in getting really good at it.
I really want to believe this is going to be a good game in the end. The Switch needs good sports simulators, FIFA is a very strong brand as well. But I agree that not calling it FIFA 18 is pretty much asking for it to fail among the casual buyers who won't recognize this as "the latest FIFA game available"
I really hope they release a demo after the direct, or really soon. Still believe that's the best way to get people's doubts about the controllers/general gameplay mechanics answered.
@Alshain01 I understand your point, I only disagree when you say this is Nintendo turning their backs on their most loyal fans, it's not as if they are giving up on announcing new games for the Switch in order to make ports, if that was the case, I'd agree with you 100%.
Personally, I see great reasons to own the Switch in ARMS, Splatoon 2, Fire Emblem Warriors and plenty of indies we see announced for the console this year. But I know a lot of people who don't share my opinion on this, I wish there were bigger and more diverse titles announced, but I think we'll need to wait on E3 for that.
@LeRaposa We could in theory say that about pretty much any Wii U game. But in the end we all know there are far more reasons why Wii U didn't sell.
I think bringing ports over as a measure to fill in some crucial gaps and just get a more robust lineup for people who aren't former Wii U owners is a completely valid move.
@MarioPhD Great idea on the DKC collection! I would instantly buy that.
And totally agree with the Wii U ports argument: these great games need to reach more people and sure hope to see some of them on the Switch in the next couple of years
@Tetsuro By what I've been reading on reviews, I'd imagine that gyro controls wouldn't be "fast"/precise enough to get you through the game. That's why I imagine it isn't available as an option
@MarioPhD Absolutely. I could easily see a system being exploited or only covering the same genres over and over again.
So I agree with you. Whenever I get asked what Nintendo can do better, communicating with the fans always comes to mind, as in having a conversation that feels more direct. In this current scenario, it would be awesome to just have someone say "yep, we heard you and we'll work to get Axiom Verge into the Switch"
What an interesting read. Even with the bad examples where curation does more harm than good to certain developers, I'd rather have what we have today than an all-open eShop.
On the other hand, I wonder if there's an approach in which the community could somehow "help" with curation.
I'm on NA, only new thing that showed up for me was a Bravely Second Theme, no new discounts or anything. According to the dates, my discounts are valid until July, so I'm wondering if there will be no rotation on then this month for me
At least in my town (Campinas) they were an absolute success, lots of lines everywhere. Pretty much the same thing happened with the Pokémon themed toys a few years ago.
@Savino Not ever. I live in Campinas/SP, so every once in a while there's some sort of Nintendo promotion in big stores around here (Fnac), but that's it, very generic (like buy 2 games and get a plushie), not game-specific.
As a brazilian and hardcore Nintendo fan for many many years I'm really sad by this news. This pretty much means that we won't see any evolution in terms of local eShop, Amiibos in retail store, Club Nintendo and many other offers we constantly see available outside Brazilian territory.
However, for any hardcore fan, this won't change much on how we acquire content, so that's a silver lining. But I sure hope they change their business strategies by the time Wii U's sucessor is announced.
I agree. It could be done in theory, since PTCG Online is implemented in Unity. Using dual screens to play this game would be so good!!
One reason by not doing it right now and going for iPad first is that it is a free game after all, and it'd reach a lot more people on iOS than it would on Wii U.
I see why a lot of people are concerned (even though I personally think they're overreacting on this announcement), but overall, very smart move that will only make the Pokémon brand stronger IMO.
In practical terms, you're right, it's just a port to iOS on the PC/Mac version of the game, but they'll use this to expand the brand even further and get more people interested/invested into Pokémon-related gaming, so I see it as a good thing

Re: Mega Man Legacy Collection 2 is Announced, But is Skipping Nintendo Switch and 3DS
Such a shame, I'd get this day 1 for sure if it released on the Switch!
Re: Nintendo Reveals More Details About its Paid Online Service
I'm fine with their offerings for $20/year, seems really reasonable.
But as usual, another announcement that generates more questions than answers for us

@UmbreonsPapa Spot on.

Re: Review: Disgaea 5 Complete (Switch)
Great review! I really want to pick up this game soon, but right now saving my money for ARMS in a few weeks.
Re: Capcom's Future Output For Switch Depends On Ultra Street Fighter II Sales, States COO
I'm hoping something got lost in translation or this was taken out of context, as Capcom has many franchises that would work on the Switch.

That's good news. NBA and Fifa, if done right on the Switch, will be huge game changers for the console.

Re: Nintendo Steps Away From The Brazilian Market
Yeah, it's hard to be a gamer in Brazil, specially a Nintendo fan, but maybe that's not exclusive to our country, sadly.
