iam8bits is legitimately the absolute worst repro maker around
Piko Interative, Limited Run Games, RetroBits and a few other legit companies can all manage to sell the games, with license, for 30 to 50$US. Then there's not legal repros that got really cheap recently that also sells for a pittance. without forgetting that the original games for these two are worth what? 10$US at most according to pricecharting?
And then there's iam8bits ... 100$ goddamn dollars US. Are they insane? Ridiculous
Almost no outlets talk about censorship and it's ridiculous
It's even more ridiculous that they're keeping the censorship in this one, they didn't learn their lesson with the sales of the other one? I mean, freaking hell
>Fire Emblem fans are not happy about this game
>SMT fans are not happy about this game
>Anime and JRPG fans might be interested...
>Except that Anime and JRPG fans have known censorship for years, and and they absolutely loathe it
Who the hell is left to buy your game? Who?
IIRC there's a chapter in the game that's actually a criticism of the creepy Japanese gravure industry. Except they mostly censored everything in that chapter. Bikini were completely changed to random clothes, bikini pics on walls were given pants, the boss was made less creepy. It absolutely affected the game and it's message
Then there's the more ridiculous things like censoring a wedding dress... Are you making this game for the Amish?
Ridiculous through and through and I'll sooner pirate my Wii U to play the uncensored version than give 'em money for this crap
And yeah, this one is far from just being about "the tiddies" the pro censorship people claims. So really, stop, you're embarrassing yourselves
@nessisonett As long as people will mass complain about games like these, and even banning them in the case of Sony, then more "mature" approach to the subjects aren't gonna come, because the subjects aren't deemed to be safe
Hence why it's an imperative to defend some of the more juvenile fan service games or even fan service in general, because they're the ones who will be the stepping stone into having good mature games about it
As you said, it's their job, they should do it properly and not give the task to review the game to someone who has a clear disdain and don't understand the game
And yes, it's certainly my place as a site reader to tell them that the review is highly improper, especially when NintendoLife was given a review copy to do so. If you can't find anyone without such disdain for the genre to review it, then simply don't
Also, "why don't you write a review yourself" is yet again, an abysmal argument. Give me spot on a site with an equivalent soapbox level with it being featured as a frontpage news, then maybe the argument would make sense
@Jingo_Unchained There's a line between opinions, and then absolute clear disdain for the subject matter, and it absolutely seeps from the review
It's the equivalent of letting someone review sports games that think sports games are dumb
The disdain is clearly showing, and this line:
"Games which tease impropriety but ultimately reveal nothing feel arguably anachronistic in a time when anyone with a phone can look at hardcore pornography without paying a dime"
... clearly shows that the reviewer does not get these games, at all. It's the equivalent of "Why play sports games when I can just go play them outside?"
Gavin Lane should not be reviewing this game, or any similar games in the future
Well, at least I didn't catch any insulting lines (so far...)
But can we please let someone that actually like these kind of games, to review them instead?
I'm sick and tired of seeing reviews of such games from people who has a clear disdain of them, this is ridiculous. This happens every goddamn time on Nintendolife
Also the line about "checking out porn instead", really? Couldn't miss the point of ecchi games any harder than that
I like how you guys made this guide but left out the most important part: Buying the damn games
Your credit card most likely won't work on the Japanese eShop
Your Paypal won't either
Which leaves you having to buy cards from play-asia
Also, you don't need to play on your Japanese account. Any games, and games DLC bought from your Japanese account is playable and usable from all of your other accounts
Of course, it's a bad idea to mixmatch Japanese DLC with western releases
Some games release in the Japanese eShop earlier as demos and such. Just search for "英語" listed in the languages to see if it supports English. The Umihara Kawase Fresh demo released there much earlier and had full English support
So yeah, even if you don't plan to buy games, playing early demo is useful. For example, the Puyo Puyo Tetris Japanese demo was there months before we got it. There's also a Dragon Quest Builder 2 demo out right now. The Japanese eShop is 100% the same as the English one currently, so if you know where stuff are located, you can easily find the demos and such
Switch to a Japanese keyboard if you need to find a particular game
Ehhh, looks too light of a case and wrapping it like this and using it docked looks like an overall terrible idea, on top of not being able to bring it as it because you'll most likely scratch the tempered glass on it
Would probably be better to get normal tempered glass protector along with a real case
BTW, "Puri Para" or "Pripara", has a Switch port of the arcade game. It doesn't have everything but it still has a good number of songs, it's called "PriPara: All Idol Perfect Stage"
I also heavily recommend the fan subbed anime as it's REALLY excellent
By the same devs as Crimsonland, a game I loved years ago. Basically, this is using the Crimsonland remake engine and is more or less the same game, but with an actual campaign that isn't just "kill all monsters in empty area"
Whether you like it or not pubjoe, women has breasts, they exists, and they come in different size.
IIRC there's no body fat meter or something similar because the dev ran into troubles with the character fitting in the Skells.
So yeah, usually in these customizable characters options, some people like to make themselves as close as possible, and well, that includes women. Then there's people who likes to make up characters, and then there's people who likes to gawk at boobs. It's no fair to remove an option because of the latter ... And really, what people does with the options in a game they paid for is none of your business really

Re: Nintendo Apologises For Tokyo Mirage Sessions Censorship Misinformation, Offers Refunds
How about just not censoring the game Nintendo
Is that too hard?

Thank you for this

Re: Port Specialist Virtuos Advises Other Devs To Not Treat The Switch "As A Secondary Platform"
@Blizzia That "younger crowd" statement seems to hail from the good ol' "Nintendo is kiddy" bullcrap that really needs to die already
Thanks games journalists of that for that perception and completely ignoring the Wii in favor of AAA BS

Re: Review: Caladrius Blaze - A Mechanically Competent Shmup With Gratuitous Presentation
How many times must we go through the same circus?
Don't give these kind of games to these kind of reviewers
Here's a protip to Nintendolife: If there's fanservice, and you hate fanservice, then do everyone a favor and don't play the game and don't review it
Re: Taimumari: Complete Edition Brings Magical Platforming To Switch
Holy crap, that looks good
look it up on Steam Holy hell, I have this already?... this happens way too often
Seems like they cleaned up the anime art, which was REALLY crappy in the original
Re: Two More Ways To Play Contra Arrive This Holiday Season
I was interested in the Pac-Man one that has Pac-Mania
Apparently the device has some weird audio issue and these aren't actually the real arcade versions
Super disappointing

@VoodooTrumpet He's against the SJW, that alone is enough to start this kinda [removed]
But he's completely rich, so he doesn't need to fear any of them getting him fired or the likes
Re: Pre-Orders For Mario And Yoshi Statue Go Live On First 4 Figures Website
How the hell is this 500-650$???
This should be like 200-250$ at most, especially considering how the design is simple as all hell
Re: Nintendo's Mobile RPG Dragalia Lost Is Now Available In The UK, Australia, Canada And More
I was interested back then, but how many goddamn events did I miss by then?
So, uhh, screw that, you can keep your crappy mobile game
Re: Nintendo's Mobile RPG Dragalia Lost Is Finally Being Released In The UK, Canada And Australia
It took so ridiculously long to release it in Canada, a country right freaking next to the US, that I don't care anymore
How much would I have missed if I get in now? SMH
Re: Senran Kagura Reflexions - Cheap Titillation Masquerading As A Love Story

Either give it to someone who likes these kind of games or don't review them

The sequel for Wii U? Huh? Is that a meme?
Re: Review: Touhou Kobuto V: Burst Battle (Switch)
IIRC, it's actually made by an indie company, hence why it looks a tad rudimentary

Neon Chrome is a pretty cool game

Very cool game indeed.

To people who care, or are worried about future censorship, please e-mail and call Nintendo about it, it takes 5mins
A craploads of people are doing it right now, your contribution can only help
