Persona 3 Reload and Metaphor Refantazio were both among my most anticipated possible Switch 2 ports prior to the system even being officially announced. Unfortunately, P3R isn't getting a proper physical release and I already own it on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Steam. I can already play it portably on Steam Deck. There's no reason for me to buy the game again, so I'm skipping it on Switch 2 unless someday they do a physical release.
I just bought a Switch 2 Pokemon Legends ZA Bundle at GameStop and it has a big bright white spot on the screen that won't go away. GameStop won't accept it back, so I called Nintendo customer support and they said it's acceptable to have some stuck or dead pixels. I still asked that they open a support case and I just dropped off the system to be shipped to their repair center. I have a feeling they'll just send it back without fixing the screen, but for $500 USD before sales tax I'm not willing to accept a faulty product.
P3R was one of my most anticipated games for Switch 2 before either were officially announced, but since it's been revealed to be a game key card I'll be passing on it. There's no reason to triple dip. I already have the physical game on PS5 for a lot cheaper than the $60 USD they want for a game key card. I also got it for cheap on Steam deck for portable play. The same for Metaphor Refantazio which I'm sure will be another game key card on Switch 2.
I've had this happen with both of my PSP models. I do need to go through my Joy Con, GBA SP, GBA Micro, Nintendo DS, DS Lite, 3DS, 3DS XL, Game and Watch Mario and Zelda, Switch, Switch Lite, Switch OLED, Wii U, Dual Shock 3 and 4, Dual Sense, Switch Pro controller, Steam Deck, Cell phone, Tablets, Laptops, and pretty much everything else in my home to make sure the batteries aren't swollen...
@1ofUs I think it's also Donkey Kong, Metroid, Kid Icarus anniversary too. From a third party perspective it's also the 35th anniversary of Castlevania and Dragon Quest.
The blurriness during the first mission while playing in handheld mode was a disappointment. The cutscenes look great and I'm more interested in the story than the gameplay at this point.
I was logged in early and was able to get a pin set before the site had any crashes, but it really sucks Nintendo didn't make more. If you're in Europe, the Mario 35 Splatoon keychains are already out. No sign of them in North America yet. https://my.nintendo.com/rewards/3b53e0f5bc3defc7
I'm still jealous Europe got the blue and green micros, but I did get the ones released stateside. It remains one of my favorite iterations of Nintendo's handhelds because of the portability and the fact I can easily replace the faceplate. Oh and the headphone jack. I take for granted the SP doesn't have one and the micro does.
Between this, Scott Pilgrim creator and Ubisoft talking, and Def Jam game rumors, and now the Skyward Sword listing on Amazon UK, I don't think any of these will materialize into a release on the Switch. It would make too much sense for them to happen, which is why they won't.
I'd like to see Nintendo Life take into account the many Wii U ports on the Switch. How many original games has Nintendo developed so far in comparison to 3DS and Wii U combined?
Third party games should be available on multiple platforms for as many fans as possible to be able to play. There's games I'd like to see on the Switch too like Persona 5 and the first Kingdom Hearts.
The original physical release of MK11 on Switch required a massive download, so I would expect the same here. It really sucks Aftermath isn't included for folks that paid $99 for the MK11 Gold Edition, but its no different than Super Smash Bros Ultimate or Dragon Ball Fighter Z charging for multiple fighter pack DLCs.
@BRAINFOX One reason Nintendo should do something is the impact the scalpers are having on software sales. If someone is paying scalper prices for a system, that's less money to spend on games.
@Ryall Unfortunately I've never seen this offered by stores here in the US. It's a great idea though. Typically they just say its out of stock and maybe offer a notification you can sign up for but by the time it notifies you about the item being back in stock it's sold out again. I remember the NES classic was terribly difficult to find before the post SNES classic re-release. If a retailer would have let me pay up front for them to send me a unit when it came back in stock I'd have gladly done it instead of using Brickseek and calling the stores to eventually find one.
Dang I just paid to renew my expired Pokemon Bank the other day. Still not sold on the premium plan for Pokemon Home yet. Maybe once I have more SwSh Pokemon I might buy in.
@Nico07 I think modders have made a way to do that for some games. Youtuber Nintendo Prime mentioned how modders found a way to backup your Splatoon 2 saves. It probably requires voiding the warranty of the Switch to mod it though.
Didn't Nintendo start to move some of their Switch manufacturing out of China when the US started imposing more tariffs? That might be part of the reason the Western regions aren't as immediately impacted by this news.
I saw a bunch of new Ring Fits along with recently restock Nintendo Switch systems at the local Target today. It has been selling over here in the US, but similar to the Switch Lite there seems to always be at least a few of them in stock at all times.
I've noticed the same thing in the part of the US that I live in. There's plenty of Switch Lite, but the standard Switch is either out of stock or very low. Even at $100 more than the lite, the Switch's ability to dock and to do multiplayer more easily was something I frequently heard from customers when considering which system to purchase.
Two of my grill bars have hairline cracks and my right speaker doesn't work. Despite having the system since launch, I do still have a warranty with Best Buy, but until we get cloud saves I am hesitant to send it in for repair.

Just checked and mine has two small cracks in the plastic fins over the vent. I play mostly in docked mode and over 500 hours of splatoon.
