Price is where it's at for all systems. Cheap systems cheap games and bigger value.

At $300 the Nintendo's Wii U is at no place to compete, even without a competitor to market yet, $300 is way too much for a system that is running on hardware that should be way cheaper. This is disregarding the Gamepad. The Wii U console unit is way too expensive.

The Wii U can only compete with PS4 and XBOXone with a price point of about $200. Especially since the XBOX price can go as low as $299, Nintendo should drop their prices, sell more systems, and take a loss instead of hold down prices and take a loss.

Unless you can play a satisfying game of Black Ops2, on a tiny screen with hand cramping controls, I don't think consoles are going anywhere.

The XBOX Next is rumored to have a $299 price for a console and a 2 year contract to XBOX live. That is way cheaper than a Wii U. The PS4 is $399 which is just a little more expensive than the Premium Wii. Nintendo needs a price cut for reals.

The Wii is a good system and the Wii emulator on the Wii U sucks. I still have a copy of Skyward Sword I refuse to play on anything but a Wii.

I think regardless of the crappy Wii emulator that Nintendo will not be updating for us is the fact that the Wii U's price is ridiculously high compared to any system on the market.

I buy Nintendo strictly for Mario Kart and that last Zelda game was mind blowing!

I think they were saving the the really big stuff for E3, but even then I love the Nintendo Directs, if every company in the industry did something like this it would be awesome!

I think the Nintendo Directs are a really great and cheap way to promote to Nintendo fans all over the world. Nintendo's gone Maverick for E3 and that is welcome as well, it will turn the tide during the holiday season. I predict that the Nintendo will get a price cut soon, even though Nintendo hasn't said anything officially.

I'm not worried that Nintendo is stepping outside the box it is a bold move.

I think Nintendo needs more advertisement though, it's not doing enough in that sense.

letting us try out all the new games outside of E3 is pretty cool IMO.

@SunnyShores I haven't bought any EA games for about an year now.

LOL, I don't think it matters since EA already isn't releasing games on the Wii U, I'm sure we will get games, of course, I'll have to buy two consoles this again, nothing has changed much since the 90's.

@RoadShow I don't think it's all up to Nintendo, they are at the mercy of third party game developers atm.

I think if you can run a guild in World of Warcraft for an year, you are ready for a management position at any firm.

I don't like the whole idea of consoles, especially after buying all three last generation. It's expensive and annoying. It'd be nice to just have one or two consoles at most.

I don't know why Nintendo doesn't release their franchises on tablets and smart phones. They'd have to do it themselves though. We don't want another cd-i Zelda on our hands.

i'm glad they're seeing things my way now. All it took was one CEO to say, "the economy will be a problem for everyone in the industry."

i agree, nintendo still is first to showcase what it can do and this holiday season will be crucial. i'd love michael pachter to eat his words too. time will tell. And yes the wii u interface is completely different, i would call it revolutionary or at the least risky.

They've learned to troll just like on the internet! I just sold my 3DS though, while it was awesome, I found that I was using it too much and that I like having offline off video game time where I can think and write down my thoughts, I refused getting a smart phone or having a phone with texting capabilities for the same reasons. Pen and paper are more fulfilling to toy with than playing games constantly.

I agree with pretty much everything he said. Nintendo is it's own thing, and I've always own one Nintendo and another console except for the gamecube, which looked like a kids' toy.

I think developers shouldn't put the DLC logo on the box, unless it's guaranteed.

If they are going to do this game of show us the money then don't stick the DLC logo on the game box.

Otherwise it's false advertisement, simples.

I don't mind paying per level on games like TANK TANK TANK, but on real games, I kinda do.

It's the economy 1st. If we were rolling in dough right now more people would be buying more stuff. But the case is everyone is on a budget except the guys that stole everybodies money, and I don't think they play video games.

How do you blame the Wii U when it's the economy? It's like jumping in a pool and blaming your swimsuit for getting wet.

It's a waste of our time for this supposedly Nintendo based news forum to tell us day in and day out that no one is developing for the Wii U. We understand this, and we know what's going on. Nintendo and the Japanese developers are probably the only ones we should care about.

Some days you just can't get rid of a bomb.

Any console that doesn't support Unreal 4, Frostbyte 3 or Dice is just not going to get support from the companies who use those engines.

@PhillaLoup I'm into Monster Hunter too, I would like to see a completely redone world in High Def with at least this console generations visual capabilities.

I'm happy with capcom, but in general games are a harder sell for me. It's not enough to just have new games. The games have to deliver a lot these days for anyone including myself to find it worthy of the purchase price.

Bethesda may or may not release this game on the Wii U depending on how big a slice of the market share the Wii U has.

It reminds me of when the US media tried to run Toyota out of the country just a few years back with their claims of faulty brakes. I remember the poor Japanese CEO crying and begging for forgiveness on all fours.

Fast forward to today: Toyota is still there and arguably the best care manufacturer in the world.

This is what I mean by a developer using its resources accordingly.
