Re: Feature: Ten Smartphone and Tablet Games We'd Like to See on Wii U

bunnyking

Thanks for a cheering up article guys.

For me I'd like to see Kongregate.com on my Wii U. There are about a thousand games on that site. Some are Free 2 Play and you can donate, if you'd like or buy content for the games if you want to support the developer.

League of Legends, Kingdom Rush, Wartunes. There are tons of games.

Re: Rumour: Nintendo Helping Developers to Convert Smartphone Games to Wii U

@MadAdam81

I agree with you 100%

The term Casual gaming as opposed to Hardcore gaming has always bothered me. It's like stating one type of gamer is inferior to another when in the end it's all a game.

Beyond the type of device you use to play games I think the lines are becoming blurrier and blurrier and you are either a gamer or not. Nitpicking whether you play COD on an XBOX 360 or PS3 or wether you use this kind of a device or that is really not giving gamers credit as what they are and that is gamers.

I've played everything and to me it is the most insulting when people even mention the term casual when describing a person who has kids and works 40 hours or more a week and can only play limited amounts on weekends or a child who only has access to a PC from the library that they log onto for a few hours a day.

To me, they are all gamers.

Re: DICE Tested Its Frostbite Engine On Wii U, Wasn't Enamoured With The Results

bunnyking

@Peach64 it's missing out on a lot of PS3 and 360 ports because of choices from the publishers. They are being careful with their resources, it's been rough all over for games and they feel like they will not make enough profit to port a game over.

I think Nintendo could do something about facilitating ports like increasing the share 3rd parties get from releasing a title on the Wii U to creating dedicated offices for this with the hardware and manpower necessary but they haven't yet.

Nintendo has always done things different, and they've always come out fine.

Re: DICE Tested Its Frostbite Engine On Wii U, Wasn't Enamoured With The Results

I think it's crazy that it's bad news on a daily basis for Nintendo. We understand where Nintendo is. We get it guys.

The Wii U doesn't support the major gaming engines a lot of the big developers are using and will therefore probably not see many next generation games or games in general being ported over from big publishers like EA or Dice and probably Activision/Blizzard besides the new Skylander's games.

Dear Nintendolife editors, We got the news, we know that the Wii U isn't doing well. Please stop kicking a dead horse. We are well aware of what is going on and give us some cheery news.

Re: Talking Point: The Wii U Virtual Console Has Started, But Not With a Bang

bunnyking

At this point anything that is coming out on the Wii U is good news. I think Nintendo has always been a different company, during the Wii release everyone dissed it and it was the best selling gaming console.

I think the price point is different this generation, but as soon as it becomes cheap, the Wii U will start doing better. I do think the released their console WAY TOO EARLY, I mean all this support should have been out of the box.

Re: EA Not Kicking Out Any Details On A FIFA 14 Release For Wii U

bunnyking

@sinalefa I feel exactly like this about EA, they are a big publisher with their hands in eveyone's pockets and little loyalty to anyone. They've pulled just about all of their Wii U releases and it just doesn't look very promising on the horizon.

I don't think EA matters as much as they'd like to think because gamers are a smart bunch, and a lot of people have caught on to them. I never liked EA even before the stuff they are pulling on the Wii U, now I like them even less.

Re: Review: Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate (Wii U)

bunnyking

@GameLord08 it's the same exact game just on a portable. Everything is exactly the same, I think the only thing that should have been better was the connectivity between the Wii U and 3DS perhaps having it be done without an outside tool to transfer the files.

Re: Talking Point: Lessons to be Learned, Again, From the Wii U Games Drought

bunnyking

Well poketune, what's going on is a recession. You will see that a lot of gaming developers are firing people and even successful ones are being extra careful about how they use their own resources.

If you read what Iwata-san has been talking about you'd realize there isn't a whole lot you can do but weather the storm and take it in stride.

Re: Talking Point: Lessons to be Learned, Again, From the Wii U Games Drought

bunnyking

The game drought, isn't a new phenomenon, it has happened to every console that has ever launch and will happen to future consoles. I'm pretty sure Sony and XBOX will feel something similar to this when they release.

Right now I am enjoying Monster Hunter, immensely. I have about 9 games in my Wii U library and will be buying another one later today. Either Lego City Undercover or Injustice. I have been busy with the Ray Man Challenge game that Ubisoft is giving out free and am loving it about a thousand times more than The New Super Mario Wii U.

I'm happy were the Wii U is at as a gamer and Wii U owner. I can't say it wasn't a rough couple of months but I expect that for any console especially during the economic downturn we are living through.

I used to make about $20 about 13 years ago, right now I'm making about minimum wage, and I know I'm not the only person who was affected by the housing bubble burst and the home and mortgage loan crash that has caused the US economy to fall into a major recession.

If you guys haven't noticed the gaming industry is feeling a market that isn't as buy happy as it was a few years ago.

Re: Satoru Iwata: Nintendo Has No Plans To Adopt Cloud Gaming

bunnyking

@APHughes I don't think cloud gaming is where it could be to offer the things we all expect as gamers. I prefer owning my games in hard copies or on a diskdrive that I can see and don't require an online connection to play. It's mine, not theirs. I don't want to pay to have access to my own games and what works for productivity software, doesn't work for anything with higher end graphics.

Re: Satoru Iwata: First Party Wii U Game Delays Are to Ensure That They're "Valuable Titles"

bunnyking

I'm all for Nintendo and Iwata-san, the main reason is because if you've been paying attention to the gaming industry, it is in a downturn. There are studios closing left and right even successful studios, and not only that but video game players are suffering a pinch too. Even while Nintendo has the biggest market share with their 3DS they are still losing money. It's a hard economy and every game company is dealing with this. I think only Blizzard/Activision posted positive numbers recently.

There's a lot of negativity going on and to me it is ridiculous to expect sunny days ever day of your life. Especially during this economy.

Re: Nintendo Outlines Developer Support, and a Goal to Address the "Misconception" of Wii U's Capabilities

bunnyking

@NintendoPro64

It's hard not point out certain things without sound like fanboys, but you are right. It's almost as if no one remembers how system launches are anymore. Every system launch I remember had problems and I usually didn't buy a new system till about a year or two into it because of it.

I am very happy with my Nintendo Wii U, but the media is tearing it up.

Re: Talking Point: The Wii U's Identity Crisis

bunnyking

I think Nintendo's problem is image. You had Nintendo's Gamecube and Wii aimed primarily at kids, and now that Nintendo is wanting to break into the adult gaming market it's going to have a hard time because their past image was so strong in the kid's gaming market.

I do think Nintendo's advertisement campaign doesn't do the best job. Overall I'm happy with my WiiU, it's just hard to explain to people why it's a good system. Also the US media are shredding Nintendo a new one, does no one remember what the last generation console launches were like? They were just like this one. The media has just blown it all out proportions.

Re: Pachter: Price Cut Unlikely To Help Wii U Without Software Support

bunnyking

@JettiBlue I agree 100%. I've researched him and he is wrong many more times than he is right. CNN and Fox News loves him but to me it's the blind leading the blind. Michael Pachter doesn't have the credentials to be a video game analyst. I wonder how much money he makes for his BS.

Someone should hire me as a Video Game Analyst, at least I'd be knowledgeable.

Re: Pachter: Price Cut Unlikely To Help Wii U Without Software Support

bunnyking

@Nintenjoe64 Pachter is always talking out of his ass... That's what his job is. He guesses things, without being an industry insider or a gamer. Pachter basically just talks out of his ass and people listen to him because he had a prolific job in the oil industry.

He has no authority here, look at his record.

Re: Pachter: Price Cut Unlikely To Help Wii U Without Software Support

bunnyking

I don't understand why Nintendo Life or CNN or any news agency with credence give Michael Pachter any authority. He is Inaccurate about 90% of the time, makes wild claims, infuriates gamers and is an outsider of the videogame industry.

Stop paying attention to this man. He's a huckster, just look at his track record and his job history. He doesn't have the credentials.

I urge you to be the first to ignore him. If he is fooling his clients, let him. You guys should know better, you follow the game industry much closer than he does.
