indoctrination on a massive scale if you ask me. call me suspicious but we are in a virtual world now with kids feeding off each others emojis on facebook, pouting selfies on insta and tweets about #mylifeissogreat that people are loosing normalized identities to the point they are unable to communicate with each other in a non virtual environment! mark my words - the time of the end days is coming soon and the AI will arrive en mass to turn us all into carbon based batteries.

Re: Review: Super Smash Bros. Ultimate - The Absolute Pinnacle Of Nintendo's Fighting Series

i am sorry but i just don't get the hype that surrounds this? its just a glorified kids fighting game with Nintendo characters (with none of the ripping out of peoples bones from fighting games of yore) however - that said it does look like something myself and my daughter can play together on (which is why i love the switch - couch co op is what this thing is made for) so i might pick it up when the price drops significantly... unless Raiden is in it - then it might be an insta-buy!

Re: Review: Spintires: MudRunner - American Wilds Edition - Dirt-Splattered Realism That's Surprisingly Addictive

I can concur that this game is definitely addictive! I bought it physical and in my opinion you get a lot for 30 quid. It's not for everyone and definitely a niche game but I have not put it down since getting it (warframe is on the back seat for a while) . I would say it's part simulation (heavily simulated) and part strategy. For example: I took my jeep out for a scout looking for the best route to drive a truck up to the logging depot to collect said logs which is the crux of the game. After getting stuck and winching out of some rediculous deep bogs I found a short cut of sorts down what looked to be a flooded path. Easy I though, looks fine. Jeep innit? That will get through... 10 mins later after almost submerging it I rolled it. Ok that didn't work. Sent lorry out to same location to rescue jeep. Managed to get near enough to winch jeep out and then repair it to continue on... but then the truck runs out of fuel because I forgot to fill up the tanker on top before I set out! Honestly I have not had this much fun driving 1 mph in a forest full of mud in a long time. Graphics are great too and the physics engine that creates the mud and water , and the fact that everything is permanent - ahh there is my track I made earlier, follow the mud gouge- is quite an impressive feet to behold frankly. If you are on the fence I say buy. Don't let the price put you off.

Re: Review: Warframe - A Technical Marvel That Pushes The Boundaries Of Free-To-Play Action On Switch

I am utterly convinced panic button have used some kind of alien technology to get this running on the switch. its insane! ive played about 5 hours so far without a hitch - even with some random team last night on a survival mission we took it to wave 12 before we were all killed off. the amount of shizzle that was going on in wave 12 was just utter chaos. powers going off, enemies exploding, bullets flying everywhere and not a stutter of slow down. normally i hate on free to play but this is in a different league. yes there is lots of "stuff" you can buy granted... however you can literally grind for everything anyway and i have read a lot abut the fact there is no paywall after x amount of time. too be honest ill probably drop some money on this anyway to show my support. The switch is turning out to be my best console owned period. (and i am an old gamer lol)

Re: FIFA 19 - The Best Soccer Game On Switch, But It's Hard Not To Feel Short-Changed

It's EA. instant boycott. Back in the days when bullfrog were alive before ea destroyed them they were great. Now it's all about buying unfinished games at rediculous prices and then charging the consumer even more money to finish the game. You only need to look at the fiasco when Star Wars battlefront was released. Premium is the new freemium and I for one regardless of how good the game plays refuse to support these guys on any platform.

Edit... except maybe starwars battlefront 2 ( the older style one). man that was awsome.

@Knuckles-Fajita correct. this report has me totally baffled. it reads like some kind of obtuse art installation in the Tate modern: the artist knows what this is but the rest of us haven't got a flipping clue.
what a waste of 5 mins reading.

at least gun ho crazy Americans can now virtually kill animals instead of actually killing them for no reason.
personally I am waiting for another murder simulator in the vain of manhunt so that i can practice virtually killing humans before i go out and actually kill them..... I hear the ivory trade is dead now and we have moved into black market human organs...come to me oh sweet money...

Re: Cities: Skylines - A SimCity Successor That Struggles To Shine On Switch

After doing my own research I bought it as I am a sucker for this type of genre. 4 hours in and I can safely say this is one of the most addictive games I own. 6000 population and a ton of stuff going on ... yes it's a little slow when I am zooming in all over the place. It's it a game breaker? Not at all! It's a management sim. To behold all the stuff that's going on is actually pretty impressive on this platform I have to say. Cars, lorries and trucks going about their business, people parking up and going to their houses, coaches driving about to bus stops ect, people cycling and playing in parks. It's very clever. And to re iterate the reviewers post of not much to to do....you must be joking right? I messed up and a huge Area of my city now has inless from water pollution. Panic! Built hospital. Ambulances everywhere, but the infrastructure can't cope. So now all the peeps are dead in the houses. Built another graveyard. But of course the hearses can't get to the houses because of the ambulances and local traffic! City now in crisis. Turned off and went to bed satisfied that 35 quid was the best spent money this year so far. 8/10

i am not sure what review to believe on this game. This game is screaming at me to buy it yet i see loads of conflicting reviews on the net. some say no issue, others say the frame rate is not actually that bad. then there is this guy doing a play through of a pretty large city live and as far as i can tell this has no issues...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IUhu5QQTL2A&t=3244s

based on this review. i wouldn't buy it. based on the you tube video its an ins ta buy.

edit. just re-read the review. the you tube video of this game the guy is like 20 hours in and 30+ thousand population with no frame rate issues. so where does this reviewer get the issues after a few hours? the review also says a deep game with loads of stuff.. but then criticizes it to be a shallow experience? also moans the tutorial is crap and no ufos? sorry but this review is actually a farce.
other web site reviews are around the 8-9 mark i have seen for this.

insta buy for me.

@nonprophetmusic yep i here what your saying. You are an indie musician? ooh do tell... i am also into music having a small home studio set up . mostly electronic music with an album and some other bits on bandcamp. mainly do for the love but i would love to see a couple of tunes one day!

Re: Dead Cells On Switch Is Outselling The PlayStation 4 Version

b0nes

@nonprophetmusic have to agree with you. not sure why "indie" games are called "indie" in all honesty... i always think of native indians sitting around in spirit form coding over a fire for some reason when i hear this word! but then i am unhinged.. I'm a very old school gamer having grown up with game boy and the first Atari and to be honest the switch is by far my fave console to date. ... well maybe the ps2 also... i just find big budget games these day are all glitz and sparkle but utterly boring to play or just hand held walk through in a pretty universe. And then dont get me started on the cash grab cash ins... lets sell a game for 50 quid and THEN make people pay another 30 ad-infinitum for more content.. i mean REALLY? Indie games for me capture some of the old school gaming - its not about graphics, its about game play and the games don't hold your hand either - they make you go figure it out. Also there is the couch co-op aspect of the switch. i can happily boot up a dungeon crawler (crawl is the fave at the moment) and Myself and my 8yo daughter can bash the heck out of monsters for hours on end. to me that is gaming. so long live the so called "indies" and keep em coming i say.

Re: Review: Prison Architect: Nintendo Switch Edition (Switch eShop)

b0nes

after owning this game on steam and IOS and a ps4 (which was sold) i made the jump and bought it yet again.. 24 quid for what is essentially a massive full blown tycoon game is nothing to be honest (and Ive now bought it 3 times)
it runs insanely well on the switch - 3 hours in and no lag with over 100 peeps in the prison. and control wise - give it 30 mins and you wont even notice you are not using a mouse - that's how well optimized the controls are. (i recommend pumping the sensitivity up to 100 % for the thumb nub) . With only a couple of caveats removed from the PC version this is the whole full blown experience. Good job double eleven. More sim / god games on switch now PLEASE!
