I honestly don't get all the hate this game gets. I've 100% completed the game at the hardest difficulty sinking in endless hours grinding to lvl 100 with multiple characters and honestly it was such a joy. I loved every part of this game and am so excited for the dlc.
Honestly having played Hyrule warriors originally on the Wii U. I couldn't even finish the game. Now that imo was super broken and choppy which really had me on the fence to AofC. But holy cow was I surprised by this game. As some has said, if you think this is mindless hack n slash then you didn't really try to learn the mechanics. I ran through all of dying light and that made that game super mindless. When you choose to not play the game the way it's intended every game will be bad.
As for me, I genuinely love this game. Had so much fun with it and too many times did it have me and my siblings actually enjoy co-op (yes frame rate included) and although there's one memory burned in my head from BofTW that I would have loved to see, I absolutely loved this twist, did not expect it and honestly for the first time I felt like I played a game that truly felt like it was the legend of ZELDA! and not just the legend of link.
Anyway just my two cents, idk if I'll buy the dlc as it doesn't quite sound worth it, but lol by stand alone this game long ago got my money's worth
@BlackenedHalo haha you are correct. My apologies, as I knew he made quite a number of the initial titles but lol forgot it was like 1-6, 8-12? I think. Nonetheless my points and praise still stands as FF4 is my second favourite. Not to mention all his other effort he has put into games such as chrono trigger, kingdom hearts and blue dragon (producing roles for those? )
Coincidentally I happen to be playing Ff7 remake this week so this news personally comes as a big blow. I've loved so many FF games and am absolutely loving, loving FF7. Imo easily one of the best games of 2020. Major respect to the dude. I hope he finds peace in happiness in everything that's to come when he retires.
I wholeheartedly disagree with this. Ps1 - 3404 games (1994) SNES - 1757 games (1991) Game boy - 1046 games (1989) Literally thousands of games in an era where people actually had a greater disposable income than today for games at a cheaper price point.
You think people didn't feel fomo back then? No not in the least bit. Rather they had the patience to enjoy every single game that they played. All this paper does is justify society's inability to be patient with games anymore. We are so quick to hop on to the next thing that we don't even know how to finish 1 before we get to the next. And that's just sad.
@MarioBrickLayer couldn't find the japan only wii u numbers but by doing a proportional analysis we can get a pretty good idea of it. So botw on switch has sold roughly 21.45M of that japan holds 1.78. so about 8% of all units sold are in japan. Now the Wii u world wide numbers sit at 1.69 M. So 1.69 * 8.25% = ~140k
@fox_mattcloud zelda has never been popular in japan. The fact that botw sold that many copies MashAllah is actually a huge feat! Here's to them breaking franchise records in japan some more!
Eeep so happy! Last week's switch charts had hardware sales actually less than the previous year's for that week. So I'm glad to see it do better this week! (For reference last year on this week switch did 188k vs 204k this week
@AlexSwitch10 for sure they are leaving existing owners sales on the table but lol this wouldn't add much of a boost to new sales. The gamecube sold next to nothing, it wasn't as bad as wii U but it definitely wasn't anything to write home about. For all of us who own it, for sure it would make it the ultimate console 🤤
@Handy_Man lol this almost feels like a troll comment 🙈😅
Fam, the console to date this year has sold 13.7 m units as of August 8th from January 4th. The switch has seen growth of 93.6% year on year from 2019 (in 2019 the switch at this point was at 7.1 m)
This is so crazy it has the gaming industry's head exploding for a console in its 4th year.
So if this trend were to continue to the end of the year that would mean 19.2 m + 93.6% would put it at nearly ~38 m.
Of course these are simply projections, but the fact that these projections can even exist should tell you that the switch is guaranteed to hit over 100m. That's not even a debate.
@StevenG I get your point, and you are right! But then would a better metric be based on development size and cost? Because atm almost all physically released games these days have much much larger teams than the ps2 era.
The barrier of entry has just become so high that ps2 sized teams would only be able to make digital games.
@Euler I'm always confused by this comment. Lol in gen 1 they had some "running out of idea thoughts" diglet ditto (a literal blob) execute (cracked eggs... what??) magikarp (a koi fish) RATtata BUTTERFREe omg the worst voltorb and electrode LOL THEY LITERALLY JUST FLIPPED THE BALL ON ITS HEAD AND CALLED IT AN EVOLUTION.
so lol everyone please stop saying they running out of ideas, they already did way back when they had to cone up with 151 pokèmon
@CupMugBros have to so strongly disagree with this because this means you never really gave them a chance. XCX's combat system was by far one of the most intricate and in depth system i have ever had the honour of playing. But I only got to truly appreciate it at least 100 hours into the game. I feel monolith soft prides themselves in making a system that requires patience and time to master and truly appreciate. Maybe this is something you simply didn't truly invest enough time in before making your statement.
@Evilworm nobody shall hear your words, for you do not bring criticism, all you bring is poison to any community you wish to bring. And quite frankly I feel sorry for you for it. Games within a franchise will always reiterate themselves to some degree, but its okay, I do not ask you to xhange anything about yourself. But I ask you to refrain yourself from calling yourself a fan of anything for you do not deserve that title. Bashing anybody gets nobody to listen, articulating yourself is what brings real change
@iLikeUrAttitude so its okay to bash other games just cause its not nintendo related??He did wrong, so you met his wrong with a wrong?? What did that solve? Nothing but hurt your own creditability:/ let him be stupid, but you don't have to be, your one of us nintendo fans, can be better.
@iLikeUrAttitude why would you do that?? you played right into his hands and stoop to his level?? He bashed nintendo games so you bash his games?? cause I'm sorry to say but those 'generic realistic game' as you call it have a great depth of gameplay and are so fantastic. By attacking him the way he attacked you, you just showed your own insecurity:/
@UmbreonsPapa its actually one of the most common things of the modern world. Many accounts that had to be set up whether it was psn switch or live pass asked you to input your credit card. Once the kids had that and a lack of oversight all of a sudden you get huge sales.
@westman98 but... then shouldn't that definition be the driving force for Nintendo's previous consoles?? Yet what we consistently saw with all of Nintendo's consoles is that even though 1st party drives hardware sales its the added third party that is the incentive. I know for a fact that if the switch only had 1st party, its sales wouldn't be where its at
@Zuljaras I would have to compare within the context of each scenario. For example if not with direct sales I would compare with aligned sales. Its just so silly cause I always find that any 1 console is older its this great feat for it to outsell a newer console but in a lot of ways that makes sense. Console lives only get better with time. And yet everybody here spells doom and gloom like they the tabloids. p.s have the switch and ps pro too. So lol if you got smash lets duke it out!only 1 way to know whos truly right:p
@westman98 lol this wasn't true 15 years ago with the GameCube and N64 it sure as hell isn't true now. Nintendo's first party drives sales, sure. BUT its the library thats present that is the incentive to buy and keep. When BotW came out a whole bunch of people held off due to the library, months after the wii released people returned it by droves. Unlike microsoft and sony where 3rd party drives sales and exclusives are the incentive nintendo is the opposite. BUT with all companies its a requirement, so you can sure as hell bet when all 3rd parties go to other consoles, it does affect sales and perception. Your viewing things from a gamers perspective but when you see a consumer eho walks into an ebgames or GAME what they see are the games available and among those are the coming soon, if you always see these crazy cool games coming for ps4 and xbox one and not switch. It defers you fron buying
@EasyDaRon @Zuljaras im always confused by these comments, on one hand you guys say don't compare or celebrate but on the other when ps4 and xbox are above switch sales its suddenly okay to? It doesn't add up, they all compete in the same market space, right now the ps4 and one are at its cheapest with bargain priced games, its the perfect time to buy. HECK i bought my own ps4 recently cause of that, as did all my friends. So whhhaaa
DAMN THIS IS HUGEEE! don’t care what anybody else says. The fact that Zelda moved 1 million units on switch alone is amazing. Finally the series getting the recognition in Japan it always deserved. Lol been watching that sale counter since 700,000 for this moment 😍
@gortsi haha my bad. The switch update for the site had it to the end of 2017, so I assumed that same logic was applied to the Wii U; but you are correct, my bad lol

Re: Switch Software Sales Are Comfortably Beating The PS2's, The Best-Selling Console Of All Time
@StevenG I absolutely had to look it up after reading this cause I was so curious to see what was the total amount of games between the two of them:
Nintendo switch: 2709 games according to Wikipedia
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Nintendo_Switch_games_(A%E2%80%93L)
For the ps2 there was a total of 4489 (wiki as well) GAMES! HOLY COW!
It'll be super exciting to see where the switch ends up. Got a feeling the switch will edge out ps2!
