Why does this game exist? Who's seriously going to buy this for 500 wiiware points? The game's the equivalent of watching paint dry, SO MUCH FUN! When, I buy a game from Wiiware I expect to be entertained and actually involved in the game, not just watching a stupid virtual flame for an hour. If this gets a good review, I'm going to be pissed. The idea alone for this game alone is stupid and not to mention you can have the game itself set the fire for you.
Would rather play a sequel to the Castlevania Rebirth game for Wiiware then this. Or better yet, as WaveBoy said, give us Bloodlines already! As for the screen shots, they look really ugly and I'm not to thrilled about the idea of it being a 3D adventure.
Just finished playing the demo, it seems like an interesting puzzle/mystery game. Feels like they took Ace Attorney and mixed it with SAW. Hell, I even excepted the villian to leave a videotape saying "live or die make your choice".
The Spoonyone just did a review on this and teared the game apart along with it's story. Haven't played it yet, but I think I might rent it first before I decide to pick this one up. I also heard that being forced to go into first person to look for something has annoyed a lot of reviewers. Also, a lot of reviewers have complained about the way Samus is portrayed in this compared to past games. I guess I will have to see for myself. How is the game doing in the US?
@RebeccaGunn Your one of the few that could actually stand Chip. Most people I know including reviewers hated Chip including Lee from Still Gaming and the entire Screwattack crew. In fact Chip was one of the biggest complaints against the game along with the Werehog. Sonic Unleashed is much better than the storybook games, but it could've been so much more had Sega kept it simple with just the daytime levels. Also, one of my biggest complaints was having to collect those Sun and Moon medals to proceed to the next level. I know not all versions of the game had this, but it was so annoying having to collect these and some of them were hard to find and I wasn't having any fun collecting these which makes me wonder why Sega decided to get rid of this in some versions, but keep it in others.
This is going to be ****. First of all, being made by the guys who did Sonic and the Black Knight and the Secret Rings is not a good sign for your game. Second, Sonic 4 hasn't even come out yet and yet Sega decides to go ahead and release another Sonic game around the same time Sonic 4 is expected to be released which is late 2010.WHY!? Why would you do that? Most people are going to want Sonic 4 compared to this. Finally, once again Sega is using another stupid gimmick in their Sonic games with these creatures called Wisps. Just keep it simple! It took Sega this long to figure it out for Sonic 4 and yet their going back to their old ways with this.
Split-screen is a nice addition, but what I really want is for High Voltage to fix the online play. Online play is so buggy and full of glitches and I hate being spawned into a wall every first online match. Also, include destructive environments and improve on the story and the single player.
More **** this week. JV games is back to making **** by apparently making a sequel to their FratParty Games:Pong Toss called Pong Toss Pro and no this is not a joke. Can't wait to see how this will turn out since the first game sucked so bad and got a 1/10. Here's the trailer if anyone's interested: http://www.gametrailers.com/video/debut-trailer-pong-toss/100036. The GT community is not too pleased with this bit of news.
Is this for real? Who would buy this piece of ****? This is just as bad as those stupid Happy Holidays gift cards. Why don't you get a real fireplace? Also, if you don't want an actual fire in your fireplace you can get one of those decoration logs at stores which has a switch that you turn on that makes the illusion of having a real fire.
I think I will just stick with a regular controller. Although the slime controller doesn't look bad, but these are probably the some of the weirdest controller designs I have ever seen.
Just wow! Are they actually serious? Changing the name is not going to make it any more kid friendly unless you change the content of the game. If you don't do this then what's the ******* point!
I wish this was real! Seriously, why doesn't Nintendo do this? I know a ton of people who would want to play those games. Nintendo would make so much money if they did this. Alas, nothing but a cruel joke. I hate April Fool's Day!
This looks really good! I'm definitely getting this the day it comes out. Also, it also comes out right around my birthday so YES! Although, is Mother Brain supposed to be Samus's mother? I keep hearing rumors that she might although I don't think they are true. Also, I'm really interested in the story for this game. It's supposed to take place after the SNES version where the baby metriod sacrifices itself to give Samus the power needed to defeat Mother Brain. Also, I'm glad to see that Adam from Metroid Fusion makes an appearance.
@Prosody Did you hurt yourself? What did you trip over? I hope you didn't hurt yourself. It just proves how really useless this app is and I think this thing should've gotten a negative score. Although, I must say that is pretty funny regarding what happened when you tried to use it. As long as you don't hurt yourself.
@Prosody What? What I meant is that if I was on a deserted island and I was going to signal a plane, I would rather use an actual flare or build an actual fire then use that app as an SOS light. I seriously doubt the light from the DSI would be able to reach a plane way up high in the sky unless you were able to get high enough to signal it by climbing a tree or hill so they can see. Also, when would you ever be stuck somewhere where the only thing that can save you is this app from your DSI? Sorry if I did not make that clear to you. Although, that would be pretty cool if a DSi could launch a flare, except how would you do it?
@Kenji510 Wow, and that's supposed to save your life? I would rather have a flare or make a signal fire then have that piece of ****. Also, what function does changing the color of the light serve besides making it look nice? At least the calculators and the clocks serve more of a practical use and their themed.
@iSonic I unfortunately don't have one, although I plan on getting one in the near future. However, I would still have points left over and I'm the type of person who just buys points for the games I want so I have no points remaining. I don't like having points left over because if I don't buy something for quite awhile and I need money for something else, there's money that I no longer have. If Nintendo Club of America would just allow us to swap 100 coins for 100 Nintendo Points then it would be fine because I have at least 200 coins, but no instead we have crap for rewards. The only reason I have coins is that I'm holding them for the Platinum prize at the end. Also, I hate when Nintendo makes some VC or Wiiware games worth more than 1000 because what ends up happening is I buy one of those games along with something else and I end up with less than 500 points remaining. One time I did that and I had only 300 points remaining. So I'm thinking, what the hell am I going to do with 300 points? I don't have any games that have DLC such as Megaman so they just sit there and I can't use them.
@Vinsanity Agreed, I only have 1000 points left and since it's 1200 points, I now have to make a trip to Gamestop and pay over $20 for a 2000 points Nintendo card just to get those 200 points to buy this game. That is BS! Oh, and to those people who are saying that I'll have points leftover for something else, well guess what, I'M NOT DOWNLOADING ANYTHING ELSE FOR A LONG TIME!!!! So now I'm just going to have 1800 points sitting there while I could have used that $18 dollars for something else. Also, I have to waste gas money just to go to Gamestop which is about a half hour drive from my house. So it's actually costing me more than $20 to get those 200 points. Thank you Nintendo for forcing me to waste money in a time where I can't afford to give away money that I don't need to. I wish the American Club Nintendo would allow you to swap your coins for Nintendo points, but no instead we get stupid playing cards and greeting cards. Who ever is responsible for the pricing **** you! I have nothing against Nicalis/Pixel, but I hate it when Nintendo pulls **** like that. I also agree that the special features should just be DLC so that I'm not forced to buy the game with them.
This just has Epic Fail written all over it! Did the publisher seriously think this was a good idea? Let's make a flashlight app even though the DSI itself has it's own light. When are you ever going to have to use your DSI as an SOS signal? It just seems so impractical.
Starfox Wii and make Fox only use vehicles and no ground combat with Fox out using guns. That was my least favorite part of Star Fox Assault. Also, bring back the sub! I haven't seen it since the N64 version.
Wow, way to go Ghostfire! I can't believe you guys actually got Nintendo to lower the price. This will definitely help with sales now. Now just give us a good game and I will be happy. @Retrobuttons What does that have to do with their confidence? What Nintendo was doing was BS and Ghostfire got them to change their ways. How would you like it if you made a game for Nintendo that should cost around $30 and Nintendo instead charged $50 for your game? That's basically what happened with Halo 3 ODST and Microsoft. I bet the game would've sold more if it was $40 instead of $60. It still sold well in fact more than 3 mill, but doing BS things like that makes people not want to buy your game.
Seems to me that JV games is starting to redeem themselves, although I don't know if a dart game will really sell well, but then again maybe it will. How come you guys don't do Top 20 Wiiware and Dsiware lists anymore? Now that the Wiiware demos are gone, you guys should do them again.
Why does Nintendo do BS things like this? Are they trying do turn all of Ghostfire's potential buyers away. Let the developer decide on the price! This game should not be priced more than 1000 wii points. World of Goo would've sold a lot more if it didn't have that high price tag. I love Nintendo, but that's just BS.
@Wariowoods Two player is going to be that one person will control a character along with a cursor while the second player will only control a cursor. Why they couldn't fit both characters for Two player is beyond me. It would have been the perfect game for it. Ah well, it's still going to be a good game.
I so have to get this game tomorrow! However, No More Heroes 2 comes out tomorrow and I want that game as well. AAAAHHHH TOO MANY GOOD GAMES ARE COMING OUT THIS YEAR THAT I'M GOING TO BE BROKE!
Oh goody, another game from JV games. This time it's Darts. Why would you even bother buying this? Wouldn't it be better just to buy your own Dart board?! I agree Amorous Badger, just go to the pub if you really want have a good time playing Darts. Also, as already mentioned you have Darts in Warioware and Carnival Games and there's others, so do we really need a game that's just Darts. At least the game has local multiplayer and the graphics look much better than their previous titles. I really don't see the point in buying this and unless there's something else in this title, then it's probably going to get the same score as Pub Darts which was 4 stars.
Is this game going to use those red and blue lens 3d glasses? Because if it does, then this is going to fail. It's an interesting idea, but nobody has been able to do it effectively on a video game console. Toy Story Mania is a step in the right direction, but your better off going on the actual ride at Disney World than playing the home version. Oh, and cool video diego! It would be interesting to see a game that uses head tracking rather than gimmicky glasses.
Merry Christmas! This game is an awesome beat em up for the SNES and even though it's short, it's one of my favorite games. However, Catwoman and Penquin are annoying! Especially Catwoman since she does this fast dart attack that can take out a good chunk of your health if you do not know how to dodge it.
Wow, this week is turning out to be a major disappointment for Wiiware, and this looked promising. It's too bad that the controls are terrible. Guess I'll just stick with Blaster Master and Earthworm Jim 2.
HELL YES! Blaster Master and Earthworm Jim 2 are two of my favorite games! I'm also interested in Diatomic, but I will wait for the review before I decide to make my purchase on that, but I'm definitely getting Blaster Master and Earthworm Jim 2 for VC!
On a positive note, the Xbox 360 kicked the Playstation 3's ass in sales, however Nintendo is still on top! It's funny to see Sony get their asses added to them. If Sony can't beat the Xbox 360 then what makes them think they can beat the Wii in sales!
I really wish that Nintendo would do something about these third party developers (DDI) from releasing these awful games onto the Wii. There's so much shovel ware that it hurts the reputation of the Wii despite the amount of good games there are. Although that doesn't seem to be having that much of an effect on sales, but the Wii would sell better if it did not have so many awful games. Also, the Wii could use some more Mature titles to attract those "hardcore gamers" , just not ones like Escape from Bug Island and Onechambra. The Wii does have some good mature titles such as No More Heroes, Madworld, Dead Space Extraction, etc.
Well, I guess it was third time's the charm for JV Games. Now if only they could keep it up although I do agree with wariowoods and y2josh about the visual style. If you look back at their game Incoming, the tank's eyes look like balls and the missiles....... well use your imagination. I do think JV Games needs to get a better visual designer, but then some of you think the visual style is good, so to each his own. I also agree about the steep price of $10 and having a lack of multiplayer. For $8 you can get Dr. Mario that has both online and offline multiplayer. If you don't want to pay any money, you got Bejewled on Facebook that you can play and it records your scores so you can try to beat your friend's best score. Does the game record your high scores by the way? Anyway, it's good that JV Games has finally made a decent game. However, I feel that this isn't going to sell very well due to their previous two games, the $10 price tag, lack of multiplayer, and the Christmas theme. If it makes the Top 20 well then good for them.
That ought teach Andrew to keep his big mouth shut. It's so funny when Sony is proven wrong. Then again, Sony does have a point that Wii sales are not as high as they once where, but judging by these numbers it seems that there's still people who are interested in getting a Wii. If you got titles such as New Super Mario Bros coming out then people are going want to buy. Speaking of New Super Mario Bros, the stores have been selling out on that game. I can't find a copy anywhere at least in my area!
Once again, another failure for Digital Leisure from the guys that brought us Word Searcher and the Incredible Maze. I could tell this game was going to be crap just by looking at the screen shots. Also, having to pay 1500 points to unlock all of the other helicopters is absurd. Why not just have special conditions that you have to meet to unlock them? Why do you need to charge a $1.00 to unlock a new helicopter? There's a lot of better things you could get with that dollar. I can't believe these guys said that Gameloft is worse than them. Gameloft has published and developed some pretty good games for Wiiware and DSIware which include the Asphalt series, Wild West Guns, UNO, Castle of Magic, etc. Although, Gameloft does have some bad ones such as Sexy Poker and Midnight bowling. However, in terms of overall quality, I would say that Gameloft is better than Digital Leisure, but I won't say that Digital Leisure is the worst. The worst I would have to say is, JV games which has Incoming (1/10) and Pong Toss (2/10). Hopefully, JV's next game is better, but I doubt it.
Well, I guess it's not a total waste, but I got to agree with Adam and Wiicool about just getting a regular deck of cards. Also, most of those solitaire games I already have on my computer for free and can play the others online. Still, I could see someone who likes these Solitaire games picking this up. If word search games can be released on Wiiware and Dsiware along with Sudoku then why not this. Personally, I think I'll just stick with regular Solitaire on my computer. At least this game is reasonably priced at 500 points.
@Swiket Speaking of that Halloween-card-crafting game, aren't they **shudders** making a Christmas version of that game. @Corbie He means in that sentence in your review where you have for JJ "You match 2 or more gifs" Gifts is spelled wrong. It's under JJ's response to your 4th question about the game play. @Ezekiel I guess your right, but I'm still doubtful about how this will turn out giving JV's track record and the amount of effort they put into their last two games. Although, I will admit that it does look a lot better than their previous titles. However, I can't see paying $10 on this where there are better puzzle games out there that offer multiplayer and online support. Also, I'm not quite sure if the sales are that great for holiday games. The reason Water Warfare did so well is that it's a good shooter for the Wii and there aren't that many good shooter games for Wii and Wiiware compared to the Xbox360 and PS3. Besides Water Warfare, the Wii's got the Metroid Prime Series, Call of Duty WAW + Reflex, Conduit (personally I don't think Conduit is all that great, but it's an OK game) and Onslaught. People love shooters and apparently shooters sell money as proven by the sales of Modern Warfare 2.
1000 WII POINTS FOR A PUZZLE GAME THAT DOES NOT HAVE NETWORKING OR EVEN LOCAL MULTIPLAYER! I got to agree with Chicken Brutus on this one. These types of puzzle games are more fun when you can play against your friends through local play or other people through online connection. Sorry, but I think I'll stick with Dr. Mario on Wiiware than this. Also, there are plenty of games like this that you can play for free (Bejeweled on Facebook) or that have online connection such as Dr. Mario. The fact that this is a Christmas game does not help either since you only want to play it during Christmas time or July and once Christmas is over, people are not going to want to buy this. Then you also got their track record to look at which is quite bad. I don't get why you have hope for this one Corbie and Ezekiel (especially you Corbie since you gave their game Pong Toss a 1/10). Still, there is that saying that 3rd time's the charm. Maybe, JV games will get it right this time, however I highly doubt it. One question though, who is reviewing this? You Corbie or Chicken Brutus?

That's no excuse, you could tell at E3 that the camera needed some work. If the camera needed work, then you should have fixed it before the release.

At least the game has local multiplayer and the graphics look much better than their previous titles. I really don't see the point in buying this and unless there's something else in this title, then it's probably going to get the same score as Pub Darts which was 4 stars.
Re: Wii Getting Attacked By Movies In 3D
Is this game going to use those red and blue lens 3d glasses? Because if it does, then this is going to fail. It's an interesting idea, but nobody has been able to do it effectively on a video game console. Toy Story Mania is a step in the right direction, but your better off going on the actual ride at Disney World than playing the home version. Oh, and cool video diego! It would be interesting to see a game that uses head tracking rather than gimmicky glasses.
Re: Nintendo Download: 4 January 2010 (North America)
Well, at least we get Heron: Steam Machine this week. Hopefully next week will turn out to be better.
Re: Review: Batman Returns (Super Nintendo)
Merry Christmas! This game is an awesome beat em up for the SNES and even though it's short, it's one of my favorite games. However, Catwoman and Penquin are annoying! Especially Catwoman since she does this fast dart attack that can take out a good chunk of your health if you do not know how to dodge it.
Re: Review: Diatomic (WiiWare)
Wow, this week is turning out to be a major disappointment for Wiiware, and this looked promising. It's too bad that the controls are terrible. Guess I'll just stick with Blaster Master and Earthworm Jim 2.
Re: Nintendo Download: 14 December 2009 (North America)
HELL YES! Blaster Master and Earthworm Jim 2 are two of my favorite games! I'm also interested in Diatomic, but I will wait for the review before I decide to make my purchase on that, but I'm definitely getting Blaster Master and Earthworm Jim 2 for VC!
Re: BlazBlue Blazes onto DSiWare
I have a bad feeling about how this is going to turn out, but I could be wrong.
Re: DS and Wii "Year's Worst Platforms"
On a positive note, the Xbox 360 kicked the Playstation 3's ass in sales, however Nintendo is still on top! It's funny to see Sony get their asses added to them. If Sony can't beat the Xbox 360 then what makes them think they can beat the Wii in sales!
Re: DS and Wii "Year's Worst Platforms"
Re: Megaman 10 Heading to WiiWare!
MEGAMAN10 ALREADY!? HELL YEAH! 2010 is going to be a good year
Re: Happy Holidays: Christmas
@Ezekiel: Why would you even ask that?! These card makers are absolute garbage.
Re: Review: Christmas Clix (WiiWare)
Re: Nintendo Shifted A Boatload Of Hardware Last Week In US
That ought teach Andrew to keep his big mouth shut.
Re: Review: Copter Crisis (WiiWare)
Re: Review: Solitaire (WiiWare)
Well, I guess it's not a total waste, but I got to agree with Adam and Wiicool about just getting a regular deck of cards. Also, most of those solitaire games I already have on my computer for free and can play the others online. Still, I could see someone who likes these Solitaire games picking this up. If word search games can be released on Wiiware and Dsiware along with Sudoku then why not this. Personally, I think I'll just stick with regular Solitaire on my computer. At least this game is reasonably priced at 500 points.
Re: Interviews: Christmas Clix - JV Games
@Swiket
Speaking of that Halloween-card-crafting game, aren't they **shudders** making a Christmas version of that game.
@Corbie
He means in that sentence in your review where you have for JJ "You match 2 or more gifs" Gifts is spelled wrong. It's under JJ's response to your 4th question about the game play.
@Ezekiel
I guess your right, but I'm still doubtful about how this will turn out giving JV's track record and the amount of effort they put into their last two games.
Re: Interviews: Christmas Clix - JV Games
Re: Copter Crisis Gets Release Dates
Meh!
Re: All Rise for the First Phoenix Wright WiiWare Shots
This is just lazy! I would rather play the games on my DS then on Wiiware. It looks much better on my DS than this. So I got to say OBJECTION!
