@Anti-Matter I completely agree with what you're saying, time travel isn't cheating. I say this because, if Nintendo considered it to be cheating, they would have blocked it. In Tomodachi Life, if you changed the system's clock you would get a message warning you against changing the date and the in-game day would not progress until you waited for 24 hours to pass irl. If time travel was cheating, surely Nintendo would have done this for Animal Crossing as well?
Personally, I don't see why people seem to care so much about how others play the game. How does someone time traveling affect your experience? I can understand being annoyed about time travelers, say, skipping to holidays and spoiling them, but that isn't really an issue with this game. I think I agree with what rjejr was saying that, if anything, time traveling should be considered "speed running". Time travelers are still putting the same amount of time and effort into the game as other players, they're just doing it in a more condensed space of time.
@patbacknitro18 Whatever the authors reasons might be for saying that the books and games are separate is irrelevant. The point is that he said it, and that's all that matters. Also, I'm not "picking and choosing" which characters can get in, my whole point was explaining why Dracula is different to Goku, and that Geralt's situation is a lot closer to that of Dracula's than Goku's.
@patbacknitro18 I suppose we'll just have to agree to disagree with each other on this. I don't think the situation between Geralt and Dracula is any different for the reasons I stated, plus the author of The Witcher has said that he considers the games to be there own adaptations separate from the books (Entrr_username has previously provided the quote which you seem to have conveniently forgotten to read). Anyway, I'm not sure why you seem to care so much. Nobody said that Geralt will definetly get into Smash or anything, just that it would be nice if he did, and I don't see the problem with that.
@Entrr_username Agreed, I don't think Geralt being in Smash is as impossible as some people think it would be. I say this because there's already a character with a similar situation to Geralt that still got into Smash: Dracula.
Yes, I know he's not playable but the point still stands, otherwise it would be fine to add Goku as a boss too. The reason that Dracula can be in Smash despite originating from a book is likely because the version used is an original interpretation of the character who was created for video games, and from what I've read on the internet/been told by my friend who has actually read The Witcher books, Geralt seems to be in the same situation.
@CB85 Is this comment meant to be a joke? If not, allow me to explain: Basically, you won't be getting two copies of every volume. Instead, these 'Legendary Editions' will be compilation manga so each book will contain 2 volumes of the manga as opposed to 1 volume. So in total there will be 5 'Legendary Edition' manga as opposed to 10 regular edition manga (e.g. LE1 will contain volumes 1&2 of the manga, LE2 will contain volumes 3&4 of the manga, etc.). Sorry if I haven't explained it very well.
@allav866 Eh, I'd argue that their is a few good things to come out of 'The Phantom Menace'. I've been re watching all the Star Wars films in preparation for 'The Force Awakens', and I'd have to say that Qui Gon Jin and Darth Maul were pretty cool. Say what you will, but I also think that the Obi Wan Kenobi and Qui-Gon Jinn Vs. Darth Maul Lightsaber Duel at the end is one of the best battles in the entire series (even my dad agrees with me on that, and he grew up with the original trilogy and hates the prequels like most people).
As for why people dislike Episode I: Racer, it probably has something to do with Prequel bias. Basically, what I mean by that is that some people hate the prequels so much that they seem to think that anything with any sort of relation to them is complete rubbish, even if the product in question (in this case, Episode I: Racer) is really not that bad.
@CrazedCavalier Despite that tweet, I still doubt that it could be from the Smash Ballot. Like others have said, nobody seemed to be voting for him so it seems strange that the Smash Ballot choice would be a character who nobody seemingly voted for. I guess it was probably seen as a difficult request since he was probably somebody a higher up at Nintendo requested and he was quite hard to get the rights for (Square Enix are really protective of their IP's. Like, Sony wanted Cloud and Lightning in Play-Station All Stars: Battle Royal but Square refused to let them be included). Not only that, but Cloud seems too complete. A character usually takes 5 months to a year to develop, according to Sakurai, so if he was a ballot winner we would have probably only seen his model at most (similar to Mewtwo).
These amiibos seem to look quite good, which I was expecting since amiibo's always do! I just wonder what Roy's face will look like; I've found that it only really seems to be Marth and Robin who have terrible faces so I am holding out hope.
As a collector (I'm hoping to get all amiibo's in the Smash range but I don't really care about the others) and these being two amiibo's I've wanted to get the most (Roy is my main and I want to display all the 3rd Party amiibo together) I was going to get these anyway, but it's good to know that they also look quite good!
@rjejr I really do feel sorry for all you people in North America. We in the UK had the stock problem until around July and then the it was suddenly fixed. In fact, just the other day I went into a GAME Store (UK's equivalent of Game Stop) and they had two entire shelves stocked full of amiibo's. It wasn't just the common ones, either; from what I can remember, the only amiibo's from the Smash Bros Wave that they didn't seem to have were Lucario and Villager (who seem to be the only ones that were never restocked). We also don't have any store exclusive amiibo's either, which I always thought was a terrible idea in NA since it just makes getting amiibo's even harder (especially for collectors).
My internet crashed around the point where they were just talking about the Fire Emblem: Fates Special Edition and didn't start again until the part in the Smash Bros trailer where Cloud was fighting Little Mac. I honestly had no idea how to react and just kept shouting "What the hell did I miss!?!" Now that I've calmed down, I think that this is awesome. I've never actually played Final Fantasy VII but I have played Kingdom Hearts and I like his character in that. I also think his design looks really cool (I mean, have you seen his hair and the size of that sword?) so to me he's a welcome edition. Personally, I would have preferred Sora from Kingdom Hearts, but Cloud is still a good second! Also, why are people so against sword fighters again? They mostly all play differently so I don't really see a problem with them. You might as well say we shouldn't get any more brawlers if your problem is that they all use the same weapon.
@ottospooky @Chaotic_Evee From what I remember, I believe that Final Fantasy VII HD is only a timed exclusive so an NX release is still possible. I'm not saying it will happen but it's certainly not impossible.
@Minotaurgamer Eh, Toon Link isn't that bad. I do think though that if he returns for Smash 5 (which is likely because so far no newcomers that have been in 2+ games have been cut, save for Ice Climbers who will likely return next game as well) his specials should be different to Original Link's at least. His Standard-Special could be the Skull Hammer, his Up-Special could be the Deku Leaf, his Side-Special could be the Whirlwind (Spirit Tracks) and his Down-Special could be the Bombchu's (I can't really think of a new item Toon Link could use to replace the bombs). I also think his grab should be changed from the Hookshot to the Grappling Hook or maybe the Snake Whip (Spirit Tracks).

So I voted for: Knuckles (Sonic the Hedgehog) Snake (Metal Gear Solid) Sora (Kingdom Hearts)
While unlikely, Knuckles has always been my favorite Sonic character and the one who I thought seemed like the best choice for Smash. Since Nintendo and Sega seem to be working together more often now, I think it wouldn't seem that strange to add a second Sonic rep. Snake was one of my mains in Brawl so I'd love to see him return. I know it's likely less than a 1% chance that he will be added but Kingdom Hearts is my second favorite video game franchise (right under Zelda) and I can see him having the potential for an interesting and unique moveset. For characters that I know will definitely not get in, I'd like to see Luffy from One Piece or Simon from Gurren Lagann.
@Splatburst The whole "Only characters who originated from video games can be in Smash" isn't a fan-made rule, you know. Sakurai said that it an interview shortly after Snake was announced for Brawl. That being said, I wouldn't mind anime characters being added to Smash, although I would prefer Luffy from One Piece over Goku, or maybe a rather out-there character like Simon from Gurren Lagann (he could fight from within his mech). Even if anime characters can't be added I think it would be pretty cool to see Mii Fighter costumes for anime characters.
@Zach777 Nope. First of all, none of the Kingdom Hearts games are classed as spin-offs because they are necessary to the story (even 358/2 Days). And out of the Kingdom Hearts games on Nintendo systems Sora is in 3 of them (FYI, 4 of them were on Nintendo consoles, not 3). Those are Chain of Memories, Re:Coded and Dream Drop Distance. As far as I'm aware, most people probably want him in because a) they just like his character b) he could have an interesting and original moveset and c) who wouldn't want to see Sora fight Link (well, what Kingdom Hearts fan wouldn't, at least)!?! At least, that's why I'd like to see him.
@VIIIAxel I agree with you but at the same time I kinda don't. I feel like he would fit into Smash Bros better than PS All-Stars, however I do admit that he has more ties to Sony than Nintendo and, if he were to be added to one of the two games, he would most likely be put into PS All-Stars 2 (if that ever becomes a thing).
@Yorumi I know. My whole idea of Konami going bankrupt and then being bought out by Nintendo was more wishful thinking than anything and if any company was to buy them it would probably be Sony anyway.
If Konami does go bankrupt as a result of this, while unlikely, I kinda hope that Nintendo will swoop in and save them by buying the company along with Hudson (if they're not included in the deal already). Then, not only would Metal Gear Solid, Castlevania and Bomberman become Nintendo exclusives but we could also get Snake back into Smash since he would now be 1st Party! Plus, other MGS characters like Grey Fox and other Konami characters such as Simon Belmont and Bomberman could join the roster as well!
@LinkSword
When was it ever said that there wasn't going to be a dub for this game? Just curious because I can't remember hearing it and I'm in the minority that prefers the dub over the sub so I was hoping for the English voices. The Japanese ones are still pretty good though so I don't really mind either way but still, having the option would be nice.
I know. That's why I said maybe. I should of probably explained that but since I said "and maybe Ice Climbers and Snake" I just assumed that everyone would realize that I knew why they were cut and might not return as DLC. I put "maybe" because I thought that Sakurai could keep working on them to try to get them working on the 3DS or, like you said, they could be New 3DS and Wii U exclusives. Even though I understand Sakurai's reasoning entirely, I still think that no matter how you put it, having them be Wii U and/or New 3DS exclusives will always be better than not having them at all.
At first I didn't really care for Mewtwo but he seems to be slowly growing on me. I would of rather seen another Pokemon like Sceptile but I guess beggars can't be choosers. I'm just hoping that Sakurai decides to make there be more DLC than just this. Using DLC, we could see Roy, Lucas, Wolf and maybe Ice Climbers and Snake return, as well as some cut stages such as Pirate Ship and Fountain of Dreams. There could also potentially be some newcomers. Personally, I'm hoping for Impa and Dixie Kong.
Well, the only countries I've been to since the Wii U was released are England and America (which both stock eShop cards) and "(Insert country here) doesn't stock eShop cards" is hardly newsworthy, so no, it never occurred to me that you might not be able to add any money to your account. So sorry if you can't get Mewtwo. Anyway, I do have some idea's of how you could get him:
1. Buy the game just for the code then sell it. 2. Try to find a code on eBay. 3. Find one of the boxes in a store and the take a photo of it/memorize it (a friend of mine did this).
Also, codes are region locked (I know this because my UK account wouldn't let me enter an Australian Hyrule Warriors code)so make sure you get one that will work with your Club Nintendo account. Sorry if nothing I said helped at all.
