Re: Monster Hunter Rise Is The Latest Ninjala Crossover, And "Collab Gacha" Is Coming, Too

TimeVolt

@Chibi_Manny I'm not contesting you on that first point, but limited releases in free-to-play games are a reality, you can't exactly fault a game company for not having collab items forever, there are 2 companies that have their fingers in the pie, and it takes money to license things, yes it is playing into FOMO, but its understandable, and not something you should shame a company for. Unless you already hate them, in which case carry on.

@SM3DASislit Its good. Not exactly my cup of tea for the emotes and utsusemis, but the outfits are definitely cool, though I'm a FtP player and already made a big purchase this season, so I'm not taking chances with the gacha, I'm not that desperate. The collab is definitely a smart one, what with the relevancy of monster hunter rise, but people might get turned off by the gacha aspect. Also I kinda wish that they used gacha tokens for the collab gachas as well, because I haven't used any of them, so I'd have a pretty good chance of getting the 1 or 2 outfits I wanted right then and there, though thats just a wish.

For calculating gacha rates, I believe the rate of getting an outfit is 5%, so using the benchmark of 1800 Jala, pouring the same amount of money into it would get you a 37% chance of getting the outfit, alongside 81 weapon skins, it would take only 1200 Jala to have a 25% chance, and 2800 for an over 50% chance.
Chart I used here: https://www.quora.com/If-there-s-a-5-chance-of-something-how-many-times-would-you-need-to-do-it-before-it-would-happen

Re: Ninjala's Cosmetic-Only Sonic Skins Cost An Eye-Watering £16 Each

@clvr Alright, finally some solid reasoning.
Again, I'll say that the points you make about style are your opinion, so I don't expect you to change them or anything, but saying that... Derivative, yes. Everything is derivative to some extent, and Ninjala's style is quite similar looking to some other games', styles, but that doesn't necessarily make it bad, especially since it has several distinct clothing brands that aren't anything like the ones in Splatoon, and nearly every stage has a different style.

Yeah, Ninjas plus gum is arbitrary, and you might hate it for that, but it doesn't really harm the style, it just gives all the powers context, and a cool aesthetic in my opinion.

Polish is a big part of why Ninjala is flawed, and while I don't think thats a big issue with the art style, it definitely is a problem gameplaywise.

The problem with the argument that its "trend chasing" is that I don't think it is. I think a big reason why you don't like Ninjala is that it looks generic, which is why you have all these problems with it and its art style, but generic isn't the same thing as trend chasing, which isn't even a bad thing if executed well. Ninjala only has "battle royale" as a mode because the term is a popular one. Lots of games where you face off against multiple other opponents are technically "battle royale"s under your definition, and even though I don't consider Ninjala's mode a true battle royale, it definitely has some elements of one, but then again, everything has some elements of battle royale in it. If you look at most battle royale games, you are fighting lots of other people for a singular winner, and usually death is permanent for the match, Ninjala is neither of these things.

Yeah, expensive Jala stuff is bad, and it is another thing I don't like (if less than the more major issues because you can just play and get the Ninjala pass), but I wouldn't say these things make the game not worth it, but whatever, man, its your opinion.

@FX102A @Zebetite Does the option of cheaper and more better value deals like the battle pass at least excuse the higher cost options? You can get the battle pass after a few seasons or a generous offer like them giving out 1.1k Jala at the start of s3, but I will admit that it is less new user friendly regardless.

@Marxally Its a constantly updating, so maybe you'll find something you like in the seasons that have passed or in future seasons.

@dew12333 Is that the banning people for being inactive thing? Because I don't think they've done that, they've definitely stopped people from matching for a set amount of time, but I don't think they've banned people for it, much less people who've done nothing wrong. Also, that "ban people unless they play the game in the way they want them too" part is kind of incorrect? I mean like, doxxing people, hacking, using exploits, harassing people, or other things like that are not "play[ing] the game in the way they want them too", but would you agree that its justified? If you're talking about something else, then please explain it to me.

@Bunkerneath I wouldn't say its computer generated, people have probably modeled it, but yeah, there needs to be a standard price for these things.

@clvr Why would you call Ninjala a bland, horrible-looking, and a trend-chasing F2P game? It has its own distinct style with several clothing brands, yeah it might look "bland" or "horrible-looking" because it uses unreal engine, but can you really blame them for that? I mean, I can't really contest those two because they are mostly opinion, but I don't understand what trend its chasing, the Splatoon trend? The f2p trend? The battle royale trend?

Hey, If you've made it to the bottom of this, thank you, and remember that I'm human too, not a corporate robot.

Re: Ninjala 2.1 Update Focuses On Balancing, Rules And Matchmaking - Full Patch Notes

TimeVolt

@BadlyDrawnDedede Well, its your opinion, but hear me out. You might be playing the simplest way, and perhaps ae using only one weapon or are in one mode, because lots of things are variable.
You can get around parries by doing break attacks using "R". Gum Shoots and other stuff can gum bind, removing monotony, and specials of all kinds exist, from stuns, to movement, to attacks.

@OctoAori20 And how exactly did they blow it? Please state all of your reasons in at least one paragraph each, with no profanity, due by next tuesday.

Re: Ninjala Season 3 Detailed And Dated, And Another Collab Is On The Way

TimeVolt

@TJF588 The paid vs. free Jala thing is common among free to play games, it usually means there'll be things in the future that you can only get with paid Jala.

@OctoAori20 Not you again... Do you have a grudge against Ninjala or something?
Firstly, what part of the netcode is bad in its current state? Yes, the hit detection occasionally has issues, and there are occasional errors, more than the average game, and yes these do need to be fixed, but they aren't worthy of denouncing the game with such virulence.
Secondly, see my previous response to you, they don't really ban people (I have yet to see a person complain about being banned in general).
Thirdly, yeah it has bad matchmaking occasionally, but its definitely getting better, Splatoon 2 is a paid game, you shouldn't necessarily compare the two.
Finally, dang dude, you're really making me not want to take your points seriously. I can understand not liking it, but "forgotten and mocked and laughed at" just really makes you seem like someone just angry for no reason.

Re: Ninjala Season 3 Arrives, Adds New Arena, Weapons And Spectator Mode

TimeVolt

@OctoAori20 Woah, how do you do bold text? The classic two asterisks? Anyways, I have several issues with your post.
Firstly, "game"? What do you mean? Is Ninjala somehow not a game? Because it has free online multiplayer, and a paid singleplayer experience, and if you're talking about connection or match time issues, they've fixed those.
Secondly, I don't think they've threatened to ban people, especially people who've gone AFK. I believe their words were "Idling in lobbies, exiting and entering a lobby multiple times, and other damaging behavior should be disallowed, and we will be taking measures to punish people that intentionally do so". I don't think people who've gone AFK would still be in lobbies, I believe all the automatic features besides matching send you out of lobbies.
Thirdly, "dug their own grave"? How did they do that? And if they did, shouldn't they be trying to constantly improve it and "get out of the grave"? Or are you just hating on the game because you don't like it for some arbitrary reason?

Re: Ninjala

Really underrated, especially for a completely free to play game with no pay to win mechanics.
