Re: Retro Chose Donkey Kong Over Metroid as Its First Wii U Title

TimboBaggins

Donkey Kong probably took less time to make than a new metroid. They probably were able to reuse some of their character designs and such. A new metroid would have to be completely from scratch considering how much graphics have progressed since the last one. I predict the next project will be the new metroid, and it will take 2-3 years to polish off

Re: Wii U Software Storage on USB Devices Detailed

TimboBaggins

I will never be sold on downloadable games because there is no resale factor. I can't resale a digital copy, especially for usb stick that can only be formatted for one system. This just means I will never switch to downloads with the current system.

Re: Wii U Holiday Sales Projected to Exceed Wii Launch

TimboBaggins

wii was the third best selling home console (i.e. not handheld) of all time. Even Sony couldn't followup the unprecedented success of playstation 1 and 2. To expect the Wii U to do as well or better than the Wii is futile....I just hope it is a successful console that lasts the generation standard of at least 5 years. At the current price point, I would be tickled pink for 5 years of gameplay.

Re: Nintendo Confirms Wii U Will Be Sold At A Loss

TimboBaggins

I don't understand the people saying it costs too much. The original Wii cost $250 at launch. A stripped down Wii U will cost $300. Thats only a $50 increase. That isn't that much. That $50 is probably the controller, so what's the problem?

Re: The Last Blade 2

TimboBaggins

The Last Blade is one of the best 2D fighters from one of the most legendary fighting game developers SNK. Can't wait to read the review of this game.

Re: Talking Point: The Possibilities of New Super Mario Bros. 2 DLC

TimboBaggins

BTW - I love the idea of having a new world to conquer every 3-6 months. They could do that for the entire life of the system and I would be in heaven. It also keeps people from saying they are wearing their prized mascot out. Instead of releasing two 2d games for the Wii U, they can just keep adding downloadable content to expand the game indefinitely. AWESOME!

Re: Reggie: Big Guns Focusing on Future Wii U Projects

TimboBaggins

nah I don't think retro is working on zelda unless that is just the only way they can get the games out quickly. Maybe collaborating on zelda much in the way namco is on smash bros. Or maybe doing a direct sequel to windwaker, I could see retro doing that. I think it would be much more likely that retro is working on the Starfox or F-zero franchise. Personally, all I want is a sequel to DKCR and I'll be happy. Oh, and a new metroid prime would be great as well.

Re: More Tantalising Wii U Pricing Rumours Emerge Online

TimboBaggins

I like this pricing a lot. I doubt though the extra bundles include a second gamepad when there aren't even any games that support two gamepads yet. Maybe the extra bundle includes the new gamepad pro. Also, I don't want to pay an extra $50 for a pack in game - I could buy it separately for the same price! If the pack in game was mario, I would do it, but not for nintendoland.

Re: Reaction: Nintendo's Steady Start in Retail Downloads

TimboBaggins

It is a FACT , not a RUMOR, that a code for NSMB 2 can be purchased in North America from Gamestop. This is a well known fact because Gamestop features lots of codes for downloadable content, such as the NES Kid Icarus. Sounds like to me the issue mainly effects Europe.

Re: Feature: In Defence of Super Mario Sunshine

TimboBaggins

@WaxxyOne how is the the FLUDD a logical extension of 64's gameplay? That mechanic was added mainly to limit which areas of the map could be accessed at various times. It was also implemented to take advantage of the analog triggers on the gamecube controller...it was really one of the only games to do that effectively. But a logical sequel? No, not at all.

Re: Feature: In Defence of Super Mario Sunshine

TimboBaggins

Sunshine is not worthy of the Mario mantle, and I'll explain why: it is fundamentally different than all other mario games. Its not a bad game, it just doesn't play like a mario game. Unlike this article, I have no beef with the graphics, camera angles, controls, or difficulty. I think ya'll are picking at straws there, for its time Sunshine was a very polished game. However, its not mario. Galaxy 1&2 epitomized for me what a 3D mario game is supposed to look and feel like. Not even 64 did that for me.

Re: WayForward's Shantae Heading To 3DS Virtual Console

TimboBaggins

GREAT NEWS!! @MeWario Absolutely worth the purchase, the dsi sequel was a fully fledged new game, not a remake or rerelease. So if you liked the sequel, you will probably like this completely different game. However, remember, this was the GBC, so it isn't going to look nearly as pretty as the dsi sequel did, but the gameplay should be the same.

Re: Rayman Legends is Exclusive to Wii U

TimboBaggins

This really should be exclusive. For at least a year. Honestly, one of the best games of E3, and one of the only ones to display how well asymetric gaming could be used with the wii u. Exclusive....please.
