Re: Review: New Super Mario Bros. 2 (3DS)

Actually Michaelangelo varied his artistic approach throughout different phases of his career. The works of art most people recognize today are from his middle period, in the early twenties. Also, Michaelangelo considered himself to be a sculptor, not a painter, even though he is known for the Sistine Chapel ceiling.

Re: First Impressions: New Super Mario Bros. 2

I for one loved SM3DL. I feel like they were finally able to translate a 2D mario game into a 3D world. Super Mario Galaxy is awesome, but very unlike a typical 2D Mario. I agree with many who say if you think SM3DL or NSMBW are easy, try collecting all the coins and getting to 100% (without the white tanooki suit). The star coins are a very real part of the game, and if you don't like collecting them then I think you might not like mario games that much. In any mario game you can pretty much ignore everything and jump your way to the end, but where is the fun (or gaming finesse) in that?

Re: Namco's Harada: Smash Bros. Design is Sakurai's Job

TimboBaggins

Solid Snake should never have been included, and neither should tekken or soul calibur (as much as I love those franchises). I would love to see Sonic return along with some other platform buddies like Mega Man, Simon Belmont, and PacMan (yes I know, licensing clusterf#ck, but one can dream).

Re: Satoru Iwata: 'We Have Not Changed Our Strategy'

TimboBaggins

Good games are more important than hardware. That has been proven time and time again. If hardware made a system, the Atari Jaguar would have been a success. The PS3 became successful, but only after 5 years. There is still not one single game that is good enough for me to justify buying a Vita. Games win.

Re: Talking Point: What Games Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue Three

TimboBaggins

Skyrim has owned my time recently. I should mention that I play it on a mac, and it runs great. I have a stack of games for wii I need to work on like Xenoblade, Sin and Punishment 2, and Monster Hunter, not to mention some great 3DS games like Kid Icarus, Mutant Mudds and Mighty Switch force.......but for some reason I never get to those because I'm still stuck in skyrim........sigh

Awwwww, nintendolife, don't be a bad sport just because I beat you to an article! I take it as a personal compliment that you actually cared enough to remove my forum post, lol. Don't feel bad, overall this website does a good job, I didn't mean to hurt your feelings

Re: New Super Smash Bros. Is a 'Big Priority' for Namco

TimboBaggins

BTW....I'm confused, how would Simon Belmont be included in the game? Isn't the Castlevania brand owned by Konami? That would be an awesome addition, but I don't see what that has to do with Namco (unless I'm way behind the times and don't know that Namco bought out Konami or something).

Re: White Tanooki Mario to The Rescue in New Super Mario Bros. 2

TimboBaggins

Hey guys, this is a great thing for all the kiddies out there. For real, when I was 6, some of the levels in Super Mario World were too hard, and I had to get my sister to help me past them. So this is really good for the tots, but if you are grown and you use the white tanooki suit, we will think less of you

Re: Hardware Review: Nintendo 3DS XL

TimboBaggins

I don't think I'll upgrade. The bigger screens are nice, but then again, whats the point of a portable device if its a burden to carry around. This looks like an extra special Wii U controller to me....maybe they released it so that it can be used interactively with the Wii U better.

Re: Project Sora Disbanded

TimboBaggins

guys calm down. Sakurai is probably still working with Nintendo, and so are the rest of the team, they might just all be split up to work on different projects. Like new Wii U stuff. That would be nice.

Re: The Last Story Hits North America on 14th August

hahahaha I made a post about this on the website 17 hours before the editors. This time, consider yourselves officially called out, bwa hahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!! I want my nintendolife medal, James, where's my medal?!?! Here's a link in case you missed it:
https://www.nintendolife.com/forums/wii/the_last_story_na_release_date_pushed
Unfortunately, Gamestop told me the date was pushed from July 10th to August 1st, I'm very sad to find out its actually August 14th

Re: New Super Smash Bros. Is a 'Big Priority' for Namco

TimboBaggins

I don't think Tekken would work with this franchise. I never thought Solid Snake did either. When Sonic was added, it made a lot of sense to me. They should think more along those lines. To me, an obvious addition would be Pac Man, the digger from Dig Dug, and maybe a Galaga themed level. I think with the button mechanics of Tekken and Smash Bros being so different, people might be disappointed with a simplified version of fighters from that franchise.

Re: Reggie Fils-Aime: Fanbase Demands Are 'Insatiable'

TimboBaggins

Ummm I think we can tell whether a game is ho-hum or not. Now, whether it becomes a phenomenon is up to market appeal. Wii Fit has a widespread demographic, and that is why it is successful. That doesn't make it a better video game than Skyward Sword, even if it sold more copies.

Re: New Super Mario Bros. 2 Art Brings Back Old Favourites

TimboBaggins

I love SMW, my favorite mario, and now I'm ten more times excited for this. However. If you were going to do a true homage to SMW, you would need the cape feather, purple flying yoshis, the tape goal at the end instead of a flag, star levels, and much more. Looks more or less they only took the bosses from SMW.

Re: Talking Point: Wii U Bundles Need to Suit Us All

TimboBaggins

Nintendo is about keeping it simple for their customers. They will release one version for everyone. I think they would be crazy to sell a version of the system without the cables, that would be stupid, even though I already own a WIi. The Pro controller was designed to appeal to core gamers, it won't be included. My guess- gamepad, manuals/cables, system. No hdmi cable, maybe av or component. If we are lucky, maybe nintendoland.

Re: Zelda Remakes Still Part of Nintendo's Quest

TimboBaggins

Majora's Mask should be remade for the 3ds in the same exact fashion as Ocarina was. A link to the past would not look nearly as good in 3d. A link to the past should be completely remade with polygons instead of sprites and released as a downloadable game on the wii U, maybe with help messages or hints pop ups to appeal to casual gamers. Overall, A Link to the Past will be easier for a new player to control.

Re: Wii U Will be a 'Great Value Proposition'

TimboBaggins

The only thing packed in will be the gamepad and the system. There is no possible way the pro controllers will be packed in - nintendo is releasing those to appeal to a limited core market, they aren't coming with the system. Maybe a game will be released packaged with a pro controller (like Batman, that would be cool). I'm hoping for $350, but no more. If it is $400 I will not buy. And I really really really hope they pack in Nintendoland.

Re: Preview: Wii U Hands-On

TimboBaggins

@deviant_mugen Whoa I like the newest redesign much better. It almost looks like a futuristic Genesis shaped controller! The new contours are probably even easier to wrap your hands around.
