Honestly, I hope as few things change as possible. Some QoL changes are, of course, welcome, but it'd be nice to just replay an all-time classic with better graphics. I seriously hope OoT won't get the FFVII treatment.
I still think the characters looked better with their old, slightly cartoony flare compared to this oddly realistic approach. Though, I honestly think the same about most Nintendo characters. Also, might be because most AAA companies abandoned whimsy and timeless art styles in favor of easily aging realism, it's such a bore to look at most modern games, they all tend to blend together. At least these are still animals, I guess.
AI controversies aside, I definitely prefer badass, capable Lara over "constantly dying in horrific ways" Lara from the reboot. (I don't care what's canon, those three games are non-canon reboot in my own head-canon)
Well, the original is an all-time classic and the design we saw in the game is probably not even his complete design. I don't know why Nintendo feels the need to keep reinventing Link's design, when he is iconic as is.
God, this is so depressing. And people wonder why the AAA industry is as bad as it is these days when mediocrity (with shiny graphics) gets rewarded insanely!
The only thing I learned from this is that most Pokémon names make no sense when pronounced, so you should either use the original Japanese names or pronounce them as you see fit, because it makes as much sense.
Whoa there, let's first hope that it'll be at least as good as the original before we hope it surpasses it and potentially ends up being better. It's been a long time since the first one was made, 11-12 years since the original release.
Truth be told, considering we already have the OG, which is a terrific game, I can't say I'm interested in a modern, possibly bloated version of that same game. Ubisoft earned no trust, no nothing for years now.
The movie's writing and acting was subpar, so many actors phoned it in, it's ridiculous. It looked wonderful, but unlike with the video games, you don't have the pure gameplay to fall back on when the story is barely there.
See, this is how you know we have a winner on our hands. Some companies can't even get basic performance down. These guys? They know exactly where to put all their efforts...
@SpacedDuck That's for sure. There are some talented actresses out there, yet they cast someone with the acting range of a broom. No charisma, screen presence or particular noteworthy skills. Even if the rest of the movie turns out well, which I have my doubts about by 2026 standards, her as the main character just sounds like a letdown.
@TitanSix I have lots of nostalgic memories with Captain America and the Avengers on NES, so I'm interested in that one, as well. Perhaps I could also finally beat Silver Surfer.
Can we please move past Breath of the Wild and it's era of Zelda already? It was fun, but the IP never felt so boxed in before, despite all of it's 3D entries following their own very similar formula before as well.
@benmalsky198 how do the fandoms overlap? what are you on about? even if Paramount makes the movies, it still makes these DLC so lame and random, because of all the things they coulda done, they just went with a bunch of random cartoons (some of which are way past their prime) and Mega Man, which is actually kind of cool to see. it honestly feels like Nickelodeon just giving up on it's own lackluster kart racing games and trying to get a piece of the pie with this cross-promotional paid DLC stuff.
@benmalsky198 I don't care for Nickelodeon, it feels very random. Any random video game character would have been more exciting. Or just stick to more SEGA characters.
Yet to try Mario Kart World, but did play Sonic Racing Crossworlds' open beta not long before release back on PC and that was enough for me to decide it isn't worth the full price. The disappointing Nickelodeon focused DLC announcements absolutely made me not care for future content, either, though the Mega Man paid DLC and some of the free DLC looks nice. At the same time, I don't know, the gameplay just didn't really capture me. I enjoyed the early 2010s Sonic Racing games, but something about this one just wasn't my thing, despite running well, looking good and having a pretty decent roster without extra content.
@kfflscnt wouldn't shock me, but hey, their studio getting shut down, not mine. To be fair, a well made Batwoman or Batgirl game could be cool, but wouldn't trust them with it
No vote of confidence unless they really deliver. Suicide Squad wasn't just a horribly written story, but the gameplay was also rather bland and repetitive. Most of the folks who made the good Arkham games aren't even there anymore, so they definitely need to put in more effort
is there a mute option? also a mute option for their crappy song? I'm not even sure if I wanna buy this DLC, hate how these 2 talentless hacks with their dwindling YouTube careers that isn't going anywhere keep getting roles they are vastly underqualified for. whatever happened to getting talented voice actors for a role rather than washed up e-celebs who made their fame burping into microphones and making poop jokes? geez
Considering the ongoing localization fiascos online, I suspect this person wants a faithful translation, rather than say....Fire Emblem DS/3DS localization and such
Looks okay, but since it doesn't support HD rumble, IR, or amiibo NFC, nor does it work with Joy-Con only games... Also requires batteries. This should be a budget controller. Just cause you make a limited quantity out of something, doesn't mean it rightfully deserves limited edition pricing
I absolutely disagree with the whole "super serious performance issues" thing, it's completely a non-issue. Sure I hope they'll stabilize the framerate down the line and it really should be done, but even still, after beating the game, I can safely say it did not hinder my experience one bit. Essentially, the issue is quite a bit overblown.
@Aquamine-Amarine that's what sequence breaking gets ya, tbh. I had similar issues in one of the dungeons, not much can be done, except attempt to trace your steps back
Dunno about others, but as someone who never played the original, it was worth the price. Game has a gorgeous art style, the music and the sounds are equally lovely, it's not hard, but I never cared for difficulty, so not a problem for me and while there are moments of FPS drops, it's nothing game affecting. The Switch should be able to handle consistent 60 FPS for this, but as far as I know, nobody really figured out why this is happening, but I don't mind it, personally. It's noticeable, but far from problematic.
after Mega Man 11, I thought they'd make a new Mega Man X game before any new legacy collection, but its still welcome, most older, classic franchises should get similar treatment, honestly
I like the European cover for how simplistic, yet creepy it is and I'm not the biggest fan of the style of the other covers, like the NA cover has the same style as Dead Rising's NA cover and it's just a bit too crowded and overdone IMO.
