Well, I wouldn't say this is entirely wrong. Similar studies have found similar results since the 80s. Heroin could be a real overstatement, but nonetheless, cutting back on gaming would only be healthy for me, considering how I have felt its addictive effects.
This is really interesting! I was wondering why the game had such a heavy early-mid 1900s theme rather than the usual fantasy-with-medival-elements theme of the Mario series. It almost seemed odd, as there were multiple easy opportunities to link it back to the other games (i.e. using Piranha Plants in the overgrown tower world or 1-Up Mushrooms in place of the golden dog bones). I'm glad I know why now. They did a nice job of creating their own sub series that doesn't feel too burdened by anything else.
It's too bad this didn't get out for day one. By the nature of the limited selection of launch day games, it would have been a real hit with people looking for something to play on their new console.
Even better is having a large retro gaming store available from the get-go, as opposed to having to wait several years worth of Mondays for that one game.
@WaveBoy Gotta agree with you. Mario's design and shape was clearly created with 1940s style Golden Age animation in mind - in fact, I think Miyamoto studied cartooning at one point, right?
I think the main reason we all get so frustrated at those who pirate is because while the rest of us paid to play, those who bootleg get things easier.

Re: Review: Goof Troop (Super Nintendo)
So many elements from Four Swords are yanked from this game. I'm assuming a lot of the same developers from Capcom worked on both.
Re: New Etrian Odyssey Title Makes Japanese Chart Debut in Third Place
Looks like the PS Vita is picking up. Or at least in Japan.

Re: Team Meat: We'd Work With Nintendo If Meat Boy Made It Into Smash Bros.
Their sense of entitlement is funny
Re: Pachter: "I think Nintendo becomes completely irrelevant"
Nintendo could probably rock the handheld market, should they decide to follow that path (and not get wrecked by mobile platforms).
Re: You Can Use PlayStation 2 Pads On Your Wii U, Should You Want To
I just got a convertor for my PS1 Dualshock to USB for PC games. They're great controllers.

Re: Donkey Kong Country Trilogy To Be Pulled From Wii Virtual Console
Strange. I'm assuming it does in fact have to do with copyright claims.
Re: River City Ransom 2 On Hold Indefinitely
That's really unfortunate. Good beat 'em ups are always awesome multiplayer fun.
Re: Talking Point: Affordable Consoles Come at a Cost
Wow.
I'm having a little existentialist crisis right now.
Lets just say I will not be buying the Wii U, or any consumer electronic for a good long time.

The Street Fighter head band lol.

Re: Ex-Rare Developers Join Forces To Create A Spiritual Successor To Banjo-Tooie
Oh man, lets hope this is multiplatform.
They should consider Kickstarter if they need the financial support - I know plenty of people would be happy to contribute.

Odd, I enjoyed this a lot when it came out.
Re: Super Smash Bros. Needs A 'Change of Direction'
I'd rather have diverse characters than many characters.
They should pull from different franchises before creating four characters from the same series again, and give more unique play styles.

Re: Zelda is No Longer Royalty in Skyward Sword
@Mariofanatic
It's similar to how the Doctor Who incarnations work. Basically, a new "Link" is born whenever Hyrule needs a hero to saves it's rear.
