Not sure how the price can be justified given these types of games are often running ROMs through an emulator, maybe with a front end UI. When you compare that with games you can buy on discount that cost hundreds of thousands to develop over many years, this is really poor value.
About 2 years ago, I came to the conclusion this would never get released, and invested in a Japanese Saturn specifically for the first 2 games. Fantastic investment and have really enjoyed these 2 games. However the idea of having these on my Switch plus the others ones, without the hassle of an old console (which are often on their last legs) with OSSC type setup is very appealing to me. It’s not cheap at £40 but I will buy this full price to support Capcom who are the role model company for games preservation at the moment.
This is by far the game I’m most excited about buying this year. Shows just how boring modern games have become with huge budgets and lead times for development of graphics at the expense of creativity and fun.
I have this on the original Xbox and always thought it was pretty good. Will definitely be getting this again for the Switch. Agree there are better SNK games out there but from a preservation perspective, I’m super happy this has been re-released.
@Truegamer79 I knew nothing about PC Engine games when I bought my mini, and have absolutely loved it. It’s introduced me to loads of classic games that I never knew about - Blazing Lazers, Super Star Soldier, Soldier Blade, Lords of Thunder etc plus it has R-Type, Splatterhouse 2 and a Castlevania game. Best one though is Ninja Spirit, which I have played loads. It’s the only mini left under my TV and been great value for money.
Seems like Hamster never put anything in these sales anymore. It’s a pity as I have about 40 SNK/arcade archive games on my wish list waiting for the day they go on sale. I’ve already bought 50+ and many at £6 per game which is way too much compared to Capcom Stadium etc. So come on Hamster! If you want to make money, get onboard with these sales!
Hang on, the character in Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story video game was portrayed in much the same way as Fei Long. I’m not sure I understand the issue here.
Hopefully they will use the Wii U US 60hz version for the Switch (which was released in the PAL region too). So I don’t think anyone needs to threat about getting the 50hz version. Amazing game which I still play regularly today. If this gets released then maybe I’ll have to order the new Switch N64 controller after all.
it makes absolutely no sense why this shouldn’t get a western release in digital format. The cost of publishing it must be low, very low commercial risk given the majority of work has been done on emulating them, and a significant market of M2 /shmup / retro fans willing to part their money. Will keep my fingers crossed M2 reconsider releasing this outside Japan.
Games like RE4 looks much better in handheld mode, whilst the Nintendo exclusives like Luigi look way better on the big screen. It’s all a matter of choice and for me the switch offers something truely unique and special.
Bought Mario Tennis when I meant to buy Mario Kart 8 on my switch for a full £50. The artwork is surprisingly similar and I didn’t look properly. Tried without luck To get a refund. Did put me off Nintendo although I still love their games.
Should mention I never could bring myself to play and enjoy Mario Tennis as it just reminds me about my silly mistake and how awful their customer service is.
Last time they were in stock I got my order in quick. They sent me the NES controllers by mistake and it took me over 3 months to get a refund after a lot of chasing. I won’t bother trying again.
I can’t bear to even have any game with micro transactions on my console - I’m totally allergic to them. I really hope the games industry ditches this bad practice for good.
I haven’t been enticed to buy this based on reviewer feedback so far but it did Inspire me to play Panzer Dragoon Orta on the X Box One X. What an amazing game with fantastic graphics that really hold up by modern standards, especially in 4K. Oh and by the way, it includes the original Panzer Dragoon as a bonus for completing the game or X amount of hours playtime.

Having said all that, I’m pleased to see a lot of Saturn games getting rereleased from a preservation point of view.

Re: 'Power Stone' Is Coming To Switch In 'Capcom Fighting Collection 2'
Very excited about this announcement. That and the upcoming Marvel vs Capcom collection is a dream come true.
BTW the PS Vita got a power stone collection release previously. So has been available beyond the DC for some time ☺️

@Orokosaki exactly my first thought too! Given Alien vs Predator was released on the Capcom arcade stick, I’m assuming this isn’t a licensing issue.

@Wargoose You can always play the PSP port on the PS Vita while you wait. I agree it would be great to have on the switch though.
Re: Sonic The Hedgehog 2 And Puyo Puyo 2 Are Both Coming To Switch On The Same Day
@KitsuneNight wasn’t Panzer Dragoon supposed to launch late last year? It seems to have vanished without trace.
