Game looks awesome, I'll buy it for sure. I don't usually get DLC for games anyway unless they add new missions. Need for Speed DLC is always like a new car or something and can't justify spending money on something so superfluous.
I hated the first one, so I don't really care. The emphasis on melee made it so the only fun way to play was to treat the thumbstick like your swinging pattern, but then it became impossible to play since you couldn't really fight a group swinging different ways fast enough. I didn't think it was going to warrant a sequel but I guess that's just me.
@oldaq The games have an icon on the main menu and you launch just like anything else.
I bought a 2TB hard drive a week before launch as a contingency. If the stores around me don't have the game yet or release it until tuesday when the release date is monday, then I will download it. I guess I'd get 5 bucks back anyway so I might just download it towards the digi deluxe promo:)
Noo! I'm not really that upset but I was hoping that gamestop was right with their release date of March 26. Oh well, will definitely pick this up because 1) it looks awesome and 2) I really want to support localization of more games like this.
I'll kill a whale in a video game because I'll probably get some in-game money and its not real and I have enough common sense to know he difference between reality and video games. I get what PETA is saying but they're idiots about most other things so I really just don't care what they have to say. I also get the arguments about the realism of the videogame desensitizes people, but I would argue against that, I mean unless you are some kind of idiot.
I kinda wish they would've either picked a subtitle for the game or a number. 1,2, and 3 were all numbered but only the "expansion" titles had subtitles. I guess they haven't announced anything yet, but if its still Connor "Black Flag" would suffice. However, if its a new ancestor they should just call it IV. I know I sound picky, but why change the rules of your numbering system after 5 games?
This game coming to WiiU is good news, but I'm not a fan of the new voice actor/ playstyle. I wish this new game was like the old ones. I've yet to decide if I'll get it or not.
If I wanted it on my computer I would have gotten it months ago. I just don't like playing games on my computer. Plus I want to use the wiiremote since it is perfectly suited to games like this.
I personally like playing the NSMB games(I didn't really care for 2 on the 3ds, mainly the coin thing got really repetitive and annoying). Collecting the big coins in all of the games is fun, but I think they should remove them from future titles and add something else extra to do in the levels rather than 'find three big coins' every time. Look at Donkey Kong Country Returns, there are a lot of things to collect in those levels and it doesn't really get boring. I mean even just making the games harder would probably help enough to help the series since, they are fun but for the most part extremely easy. That's my two cents.
@OGGamer First, how is Rayman mediocre? Second, I think what people mean is that if a large game like Rayman isn't supported, there's the possibility that third party support could repeat itself. Granted I was mad about the delay, but when the people who weren't responsible are reaching out to appease the chaos, maybe its time to grow up and think "I don't owe them anything, and they don't owe me anything." So by us getting anything for FREE, we might as well take it as a win since no other system is getting the online mode until the game comes out(NOT A DEMO).
Nobody got super butthurt about past games that got delayed, eg. Pikmin, Wonderful 101. Yeah the delay of this game is to port it over to other consoles, even though its complete, is stupid. From what the developers are saying though, they are going to add more to the actual game so when it comes out we get more content. If they would've said that in the first place without emphasizing the "porting" part, I wouldn't have been as upset.
I'm fine with this. The challenge mode was way more than I though we would get and its way better then a demo since there are new challenges being updated all the time. I'll definitely download this, and buy the game when it comes out, even though I still think the decision was stupid. I think the game will be even better by the time it comes out
I agree for the most part, but I think that some games that have ridiculously long cutscenes are great. Metal Gear Solid in particular, those games had many cutscenes and I think the last one in Guns of the Patriots clocked at 90 minutes or something. When I watched it, it was great for me and didn't seem cumbersome.
Then there are games where I wish there were more cutscenes like Fire Emblem: Awakening. I understand with that game that the pre-rendered portions don't show your customized character because then they would have to do one for every different configuration. Or not have it be pre-rendered which I think looks amazing. Still a lot of the time I end up wanting more. Awakening is still a fantastic game though.
I guess my point is that there is no clear cut-down-the-middle for this argument and each side has great examples of each. (I did like the story being tied into the gameplay for Kid Icarus through the dialogue as well)
@Peach64 I don't think so, I might be a good idea, but from what I've heard the lords of shadow 2 picks up after the other one but this one is like a sidestep.
I'll buy this. I'll probably go for a used version though. If you support stupid, it'll just keep being stupid. Now if they bring the new Rainbow Six I might start buying new Ubisoft games again, but that might be a stretch.
@AbeVigoda Only mindless drones take videogame website reviews as law. There have been plenty of games in the past that I've enjoyed and all the reviews were junk. Fist of the North star (I didn't buy it, not my kind of game) got a bad review from NL and there are people out there who love it. It really just comes down to what kind of games you like and if its flaws really matter to you.
@Tethers He said that it should be within the next couple weeks. I'm tired of waiting too but on his facebook page he said that Wii players will get a nice bonus. No idea what it is though. I can't wait.
I'll buy it on day one, gameplay videos I've seen look fun enough. I'm a huge aliens fan and so are my friends, so we'll probably play some of the multiplayer modes. I tend not to listen to reviews anymore, since most people are biased against certain games. Example: A couple people on metacritic have related this game to COD and said that the sound effects on the assault rifles are dumb. That's how they sound in the movie, so who cares? Also IGN sucks.
I like how Ubisoft's facebook page has literally not responded to this development on their facebook page, or anything else for that matter since Friday. They must know that the situation has become a powder keg and that they in THE DANGER ZONE! Here's to hoping they wise up and fast.
@Jukilum So I assume the movies aren't appropriate for ANYONE to watch then?
I'm sick of hearing about this being compared to Duke Nukem. Gearbox did Duke because it was mostly finished when they purchased it. This game may end up being crap(I hope not, since I don't listen to reviewers) and if it does it will be Gearbox's fault because they completely made this one. Also there's no way that this game will be worse than 007 legends (which I played) so I'll be fine with it.
That's ballsy. I completely respect them for it and I hope this shows Ubisoft how stupid they're acting. I hope nothing bad happens to Michel Ancel or others because of this though.
I wish they would make another Overlord game and bring it to WiiU. They were similar in concept to Pikmin, but I loved the good/evil paradigm choices as well as the dark humor. Who doesn't want to pillage a town using minions? Until then I will play Wonderful 101 and Pikmin 3
Granted not calling Nintendo is stupid, but you can't blame the guy. If that happened to me I would literally cry. At least they credited him some money but 200 bucks is alot.
Skylanders's sales probably blow because its extremely overpriced for the figurines. Also alot of bad parent's are buying their 6-11 year olds call of duty, so either way he's getting money. So maybe he should shut up.
@Knux I have a PS3. I just happen to play my WiiU when friends come over since thats the only system I have enough controllers for. Plus alot of my friends didnt have WiiUs yet and wanted to try it out. Plus most my PS3 games are GOW and MGS so no multiplayer anyway.
Sidenote: I love my WiiU, whereas my PS3 is just ok.
@Knux If I hadn't calmed down this morning, this would've helped.
The first demo was nice to me to load up every couple weeks or so and play with some friends, so at least there'll be something to play for the next several months. Plus I honestly thought that March was a pretty loaded month for videogames (I know it was February but Rayman did make my cut) so now at least I can get Monster Hunter and Lego City whereas before I could only afford one:) Still kinda bummed, but its more than I thought we would get.
I just don't care anymore. Yesterday I was angry, now that I've calmed down I'm debating on returning my preorder and not buying it or just try to forget until September. I mean it looks fun, but after his comments which may or may not mean anything, I'm still not sure of whether or not I want to kick them to the curb. Yes, it was a douchey move, yes, it makes no sense to delay our version, but I'm still glad I got to play Assassin's Creed III and ZombiU. If they are just going to jump ship then screw 'em I guess. I just don't want to see third party support go down the toilet because of something like this.
Not buying this now. Thought the demo was great and loved the first one. Screw them now, I think I can safely say instead of gaining more profits from selling on other systems (since so many people bought the first one on PS3 and 360 lol). They might break even since alot of WiiU owners are going to be like me and show no support for crap like this.
I'm not really upset that other people are getting the same version as the WiiU, since all that has really changed is dismemberment and a few other things. Plus most people who wanted it already bought it when it came out, and if I remember a lot of people were mad about it too so why would they buy it again?
From the way I see it, I read nothing about a new device or console. It just sounds like they are using 'platform' in the context of 'computing platform' which primarily focuses on the OS, GUI, and software framework. Maybe I'm wrong I just thought it sounded like they have plans to integrate 3DS and WiiU's software, possibly to link to Android. (Could've sworn there was a Miiverse app coming out, correct me if I'm wrong)
@Void I actually liked the new Total Recall. I'll always love the first one but the second one was different enough for me that it was like a different movie. It wasn't the best movie, but I enjoyed it.
I agree that most if not all of the blame goes to the parents for not caring or being good parent in general. However that kid should know by then that taking a gun or anything resembling a gun should not to be taken to school. Its like yelling "FIRE" in a movie theater, people just don't do that. Also, the parents shouldn't be related to each other either. IJK LOL
I'll probably buy it eventually for PS3, due to MGS and Uncharted games being the only reasons I got one(other than I needed a bluray player). For all other gaming purposes Nintendo is my one and only.
However if either Ground Zeroes or Revengeance come to WiiU before I get a chance to pick them up on PS3, I'll be there. I just don't really care one way or another since most of the games I want that are coming out are on WiiU. Wonderful 101, Bayonetta 2, New Mario game, etc.
