Assassin's Creed III was a major launch release on Wii U, providing a version of one of the year's biggest multi-platform blockbusters. Like a lot of high profile games it offers various DLC packages, and after an initial mission add-on and a multiplayer pack — though it can be hard to actually find an active online session on Wii U — Ubisoft is releasing the main event.
The big additions for this title arrive in three parts to form a storyline titled "The Tyranny of King Washington", which takes place in an alternate reality and will, apparently, provide a definitive ending to the story of the game's main protagonist, Connor. The first part, "The Infamy", has arrived on PS3 and Xbox 360 today, and Ubisoft's website confirms that it'll hit the Wii U eShop on 21st February — naturally you'll need to own a copy of the retail game. Below is a plot synopsis from the official website.
The Infamy is the first episode in the Tyranny of King Washington storyline. Following the revolution, Washington goes mad with power and rules as a tyrannical King. Connor awakes in this reality as Ratonhnhaké:ton - never having joined the Assassin order - and is greeted by his mother Kaniehtí:io, accepting a new mission to take down Washington. Acquire all-new skills to fend off this new threat to freedom. Live history as it never happened and ignite a new revolution!
This entry seems like quite a diversion from the main campaign, with Ratonhnhaké:ton adopting new powers and skills in his missions. It's available for £7.99 / $9.99 on other platforms, though we'll soon see whether the Wii U eShop price is the same — the Season Pass has never been made available on Nintendo's system.
The trailer is below, and we're curious as to whether any of you Assassin's Creed III fans plan to pick this up and play through the new storyline.

...and I can't get it because of eShop age restrictions. Woo hoo!
Definitely getting day one. Been waiting for this ever since it was announced for ps3/xbox. Just a shame I'll have to wait until 11pm to download it!
Definitely getting. Anyone know why no season pass for WiiU?
I'm really looking forward to this. I love alternate history stuff. It actually looks more fun than the main game.
For once a gameplay trailer. If I wasn't boycotting I'd get the game and this DLC, were my funds to allow it.
I'm currently downloading AC3, which is a beast at 17gb. This will be my first venture into the series. If I like it, I'll definitely pick up the DLC.
@Navera
Let's hope you do like it...you'll soon be stuck with it forever.
Well at least ubi is giving us some dlc love, unlike blops2!
@indienapolis No season pass. Wish that was there. However, the Deluxe Digital Promotion doesn't apply to passes.
Getting it as soon as I can. Which they would work on their servers though.
I agree there servers should be better, but I'll definitely get this. I've bought every dlc from every AC game to this point, why stop now?
Not too keen on spending $30 to complete this DLC saga but as long as it's entertaining I'll give it a shot. Hopefully this first chapter is good!
That's creepy. It's makes you think just how many ways the American Revolution and subsequent establishment of the United States's government could've gone horribly wrong. In many ways, the Founding Fathers were incredibly lucky to be able to pull off what they did.
