Re: Digital Foundry Gives Its Full Analysis of DOOM on Nintendo Switch

Shanksta

I'm just happy to be playing Doom on switch. The game is really fun. I myself played and never finished it on ps4 a year ago, but the lack of portability really made it fall off the radar because I can't constantly hog the TV in our household. This is just fantastic and I plan on getting wolfenstein 2 as well. I love that Bethesda is doing this push for games on the switch.

Re: The Rayman Legends: Definitive Edition Demo is Live, For Real This Time

Shanksta

Loved being able to play coop rayman/murphey with my fiancee. Kind of confusing that you can't play Murphy with touch controls. After playing both I don't understand how using the buttons for Murphy is "definitive" compared to touch controls which required accuracy.

I'm fine avoiding this one, I'm not against definitive versions of games, but for a game that was initially made for my WiiU and has some features watered down for coop, that's the nail in the coffin for me.

Re: New Splinter Cell Blacklist Maps Creeping Onto Wii U

Shanksta

I'm getting the billionaire's yacht for sure since I already have dead coast. Considering they are both coop maps(not mandatory coop) I'll bite, I probably play them by myself anyways. More fun since people don't seem to talk in coop and just shoot wildly.

Re: Video: Ubisoft Wraps Up Splinter Cell Blacklist Details in a Neat Bow

Shanksta

I'm getting this for sure despite no local play, since it doesn't seem like my brother will play it anyway. I really hope I can find someone else online who likes to play this game coop. It's a bummer there isn't a social network or something that will put me in contact with others who like playing the same games as me on the WiiU... oh wait.

Re: Nintendo Download: 4th July (North America)

Shanksta

@waluigifan1 I did see that, they were talking about Mario Bros the arcade game port to NES not the Super Mario Bros game, which the picture was of. Confusing and stupid.

@Ambassador_Kong I'm still upset that there is still no word on Dungeons and Dragons, yet its listed as coming soon on the eshop. I need to quit looking since coming soon apparently means coming within the next few months.

Re: Wii U Version Of Beyond Good & Evil 2 Looking Unlikely

Shanksta

I bought the gamecube version recently to get ready for whenever the new one gets made. Guess I don't care anymore since the sequel won't make it to WiiU. Oh well, I guess they don't want my money since I'm not going to buy either of the other systems. Good thing there's always games that I can only get on Nintendo systems.

Re: Nintendo Download: 20th June (North America)

Shanksta

@Ambassador_Kong I get where you're coming from. I was waiting for D & D as well, but at least I get Luigi U and Game And Wario this week to play. Hopefully it will be soon but I don't see how getting upset over it will change anything. Plus the Game Gear games look solid if you have a 3ds. I do agree that this drought is pretty lame though.

Re: Talking Point: Nintendo Should Aim to Produce Mature, Genre-Defining Storytelling Experiences

Shanksta

Personally, having some mature games couldn't hurt. Not rated M as in violence, but a more mature take on Zelda for example could indeed be seen in those relationship-themed sequences in Skyward Sword and it was those cutscenes that I worked toward. At the same time I'm proud as a Nintendo fan to say that I "crowdfarted" for Game and Wario.

I think overall, fun is more important than mature storytelling like "The Last of Us". Honestly, that game looks cool but its replay value may turn out to be low. Where as any game that is just plain fun I could pick up any day of the week.

There I'm done contradicting my own points.

Re: Ian Livingstone: Nintendo Should Have Their IP On Every Platform

Shanksta

Personally, I don't care. Most young kids now are out of control anyway because they have bad or uninterested parents. When I have kids they're going to play Nintendo and love it because that's what I grew up with, and their games are more fun that most else that's out there anyway.

Plus, a friend of my enemy is my enemy. AKA. he's friends with Molyneux and I don't care for him so therefore I don't care for either of them.

Re: Sniper Elite V2 on Wii U Lacks Online Co-Op and DLC

Shanksta

60 bucks is way overpriced for an old port. I didn't get this when it came out and heard it was coming to WiiU, but I think I'll wait till it drops in price before purchasing. The singleplayer was the only reason I was going to get it anyway, but the lack of DLC is disappointing. Singleplayer games tend to be more what I look for since online (for most games) tends to bore me.

Re: Satoru Iwata: Nintendo Has No Plans To Adopt Cloud Gaming

Shanksta

Thank you, Nintendo. Personally I think cloud gaming is stupid. Granted 3ds to WiiU transfer would be cool for save data, but you can do that already with Monster Hunter. I love that I can play DLC for games even when not connected to the internet. My friend that owns an Xbox can't play any DLC whenever his internet disconnects. This news just made my day.

Re: Video: Here's Some Footage Of The Rayman Legends Challenges App

Shanksta

I'm glad they're adding more bosses and 30+ plus levels to the actual game since they have more time with it. Complaining about a delay is stupid, especially when they brought it up to August now and are working hard on adding more to it. Plus this challenge app is awesome, getting all gold so far has been pretty difficult.

Re: Assassin's Creed III (Wii U) Tyranny of King Washington DLC Bear Power Trailer

Shanksta

Just from that, the bear power looks like the dumbest of the group. Wolf was ok I guess just made things a little too easy. Eagle was more into the realm of "super heroes" and was odd. This one looks way over the top, not that its supposed to be realistic but the main draw to ACIII, not the dlc, was the realism. Could end up being really fun though, I'll have to wait until next week.

Re: LucasArts Shut Down By Disney

Shanksta

I'm pretty sure the Rogue Squadron games were published by Lucas Arts, but developed by Factor 5. Granted they haven't done anything lately worth noting. Still this is very disheartening since I thought Star Wars 1313 looked like a third party Uncharted.

Re: Shigeru Miyamoto Makes His Miiverse Debut

Shanksta

I really hope that the 3D mario game for Wiiu this year will turn into a 3D luigi game. That would be awesome. Instead of Bowser you'd be up against Wort from Super Mario Bros 2(North America Version). Something just to mix it up would be fantastic!
