Re: Talking Point: What's Going To Be Nintendo's Big Game For Christmas 2020?

PixelViking64

I'm going to say something a wee bit controversial here.

I don't think BoTW was that great of a game and there are several reasons for this. The first is that I found the breaking weapon mechanic very obnoxious and never really never made me excited whenever i found a new powerful weapon, since I knew it'd break anyway. Secondly, there was a severe lack of dungeons in my opinion and I didn't find them thaaat great, though Hyrule Castle was absolutely amazing and demonstrated aspects that I actually would like to see in an open world Zelda game. Lastly, I didn't care much for the shrine puzzles, which is a problem since they seem to make up quite a big part of the game. I will however give them probs for creating so many puzzles around the few abilities you have. On a similar not, I also liked that the combat for once was quite challenging, but I think that's more or less it.

Now Metroid Prime 4, there's a game I'm crazy excited about. I have faith in Retro doing a great job as always

Re: Poll: What Did You Think of Ubisoft's Nintendo Switch Reveals at E3 2017?

@crimsoncavalier I don't remember a single rabbids game being released on Wii U, so I guess you're referring to Mario + Rabbids? The fact that you don't like them (honestly they're not really my cup of tea either) doesn't mean that it can't be a good game. The visuals are honestly amazing and the combat seems fun too.
As for the rest of the argument, both Rayman legends and Assassin's creed 3 was released on Wii U and those games seemed pretty good. I'm not sure about ZombiU though.

@Grumblevolcano Of those two scenarios I think the first one makes a lot more sense. I know Nintendo have made some very questionable decisions (if not downright stupid) through the years, but to do a direct a month before E3 to show off some new stuff so you're not able to show it off at E3 seems too stupid even by Nintendo's standard.

I really hope Nintendo has worked all the stuff with 3rd parties out this time. Not so much for my own sake, as I play on several different consoles, but more to see Nintendo once again as they were in their glory days. That being said, of course I would enjoy big 3rd party games on the go as well!
