Stikbold! A Dodgeball Adventure Deluxe is coming to the Nintendo Switch this month, it has been revealed.
The wacky hybird of sports and action adventure features a wide range of game modes, including a co-op story campaign packed with epic boss fights and a rather silly plot.
More interesting is the 6-player multiplayer mode where you and five other friends can each grab a Joy-Con and enter one of six different arenas to do battle.
Stikbold! arrives on December 29th in Europe and January 4th in North America. Here's the PR:

Stikbold! is a hard-hitting, fast-paced dodgeball sports game set in a colorful and quirky 70s universe.
With brand-new content, improved features and gameplay for up to 6 players, the Switch-exclusive Deluxe edition is perfect for any party or social gathering.
Casually cooperative story mode (1-2 players)
Joint Stikbold! superstars Bjorn and Jerome on a tour through the zany universe as they embark on a co-op adventure to unravel the mysterious disappearance of rival love-interest Heidi Starbrow on the night of the big game! Battle your way through a surprising cast of funky characters and unlikely boss fights.
Playable solo or with your favorite buddy – beat the story, then beat your friend!
Brutally fun local multiplayer brawls (1-6 players)
Put your skills to the ultimate test in the definitive battle of the living room – will you be victorious or go down with a bam… and have your revenge from beyond!
Take control of level-specific hazardous events and use them to interfere and harass the remaining opponents instead of sitting idle while waiting for the next round to begin… don’t get mad, get even!
Inspired by the greatest party-game classics, Stikbold! offers accessible but deep gameplay with a great variety of playful twists to spice up the action and keep the party going.
Features
– 6 unique arenas – humiliate your friends on a series of distinct environments with unique, gameplay-altering dynamics and level-specific player-controlled hazards.
– Up to 6 players – With Deluxe edition, max player count has increased to 6 to accomodate even bigger parties. Play Free-For-All, 3v3, 2v2v2 or perhaps someone frisky is up for a 5v1?
– 4 intense mini-games (2-6 players) – No party game is complete without mini-games. Mix it up with Handyball, Pop-pop, Crate Escape, and Wild Rumpus.
– Wheel of Rumpus (1-6 players) – This crazy new game show-inspired tournament will take the players on a playful tour through all the game’s content. Adaptation is key to success in this format, littered with bounties, secondary objectives, and decorative, cosmetic prizes to underline your victories.
– 18 colorful characters – Choose from the large roster of colorful athletes to find the personality quirky enough to match your style.

If you can dodge a ball, you can dodge a...wait, that's not how it goes.
i wish they give out a demo looks interesting
... consider my interest piqued.
Hm....
Not interested...
So basically a crazy version of stikbold (for you curious folks it's a very popular physical activity in Danish schools). Looks pretty fun to be honest!
Interesting. Now to see how much this cost?
Fingers crossed there is a mode with several balls . . . like dodgeball as it is known (and vilified) here in the States.
I like the looks of this. I especially like the co-op adventure mode in a game like this.
Aside: Reminds me of what Diddy Kong Racing did and I wish Mario Kart would steal for its next iteration... or do a Donkey Kong Racing or something that has it... or just anybody, please! Someone make a cooperative adventure kart game again that is awesome.
@Hen1roc Hi! We will probably make and release a demo in Q1 of 2018.
@bluedogrulez Several arenas have multiple... throwable objects. Non of them are anything like "official" dodgeball, though.
Finally!
I've been keeping up with these guys for years and years, but never really had a good setup for playing their game. Now it will happen.
@Shiryu I think we'd better consider your interest piqued.
Considering you being peeked (which actually means people stealing secretive glances at you) conjures up entirely different images...
@ThanosReXXX I stand corrected.
@Shiryu Haha, no worries man. A lot of people, even native English speakers, make the same mistake, and some even think that it is "peaked", referring to the top of a mountain, and that this in turn would then mean that interest in something is at a top level, but actually, having your interest piqued means that it is triggered, stimulated.
Then again, not everyone is such a linguistophile as I am, so I won't hold it against you, it was just a nice opportunity for me to poke a little bit of fun at you.
Sounds like a solid party game!
Super Dodgeball this game is not! I got this game on sale on my PS4 a while back, and it is hardly a dodgeball game, more of a twin stick shooter to be honest.
I can't say I ever thought "gee, dodgeball games are the one thing I am missing in my life" But I am sure someone has wanted this for years.
ill be dodging away from this game
