Re: Talking Point: Nintendo's Ambitious Sales Targets Require Runaway Holiday Success

Peek-a-boo

To keep it simple:

The 2DS/3DS will do very well, especially in (the recent) light of Pokemon X & Y.

The Wii U shall do 'just okay' and perhaps, come Christmas time, past the one million units sold - worldwide - in 2013, which is pretty poor, all told.

The 3D Mario games never, EVER do better than the 2D ones therefore I personally don't think Super Mario 3D World will be the 'saviour' most folks on here proclaim (or hope) it to be.

Re: Review: Sonic Lost World (Wii U)

Peek-a-boo

@ThomasBW84 ... it may surprise you to know that I actually read reviews before I look at the score, unlike some folks on here.

I just find the score(s) to not match the context of a review (sometimes) on here, especially in comparison to well, you know ... non-Nintendo championing websites!

Re: Review: Sonic Lost World (Wii U)

Peek-a-boo

@TimLatshaw ... deliberately forgetting about Edge and Eurogamer (with their 4/10 reviews) are we?

I personally think every single 3D Sonic has been either average or poor and I STILL put myself through the usual 'Sonic cycle' all the blooming time.

Sonic died on the Mega Drive whereas Mario has been a consistent joy!

Re: Review: Rayman Legends (Wii U)

Peek-a-boo

This is now currently the highest rated Wii U game, more so than Pikmin 3 and New Super Mario Bros. U ... and yet half of you kids on here are acting so childish by denying yourselves from playing what is essentially the best game on the Wii U!

Who cares if Ubisoft delayed this?! It was a business decision given that ZombiU never made a profit for them and going multi-format shall not only bring more sales, but MORE people can play this.

And that, to me, is a very good thing.

Re: Mario & Luigi Has a Dreamy Japanese Chart Debut, Wii U Hardware Sales Drop by a Third

Peek-a-boo

@banacheck Also quite amusing to re-read the comments within the sales article (in Japan) last week when Pikmin 3 came out.

I said it'll be nothing but a blip, a momentary one-off rise in sales. I said that whilst Pikmin 3 shall surely be an excellent game, it will NOT be a system seller. I also said the numbers may well go back to 'normal' the following week.

But nope, apparently my prediction was totally wrong last week.

... and yet I was totally spot on.

Re: Nintendo of America Offers Free Wii U eShop Credit If You Splash the Cash

Peek-a-boo

@Ernest_The_Crab I do not feel like I need to adjust my post because the subject matter is still the same; you can happily instantly re-download your digital collection on a PS Vita, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, heck even on an iOS or Android phone/tablet!

... with the Wii U, broken or stolen, this simply isn't possible because Nintendo and their online infrastructure is a decade behind everyone else.

You shouldn't have to send your console or handheld away for Nintendo to do this.

It is not 1999 anymore.

Re: Nintendo of America Offers Free Wii U eShop Credit If You Splash the Cash

Peek-a-boo

@Yorumi ... but would you prefer to flaff about with Nintendo and their customer services (over the phone or via e-mail) to get ALL of those digital games back, or instantly re-download them off your downloads list within their respective stores on the PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360?

Nintendo are still, ridiculously, so far behind with their online infrastructure.

Re: Mario & Luigi: Dream Team Bros. Retains Third Spot in UK Charts

Peek-a-boo

@bahooney A shame you didn't play the last two thirds as they are arguably, by far and away, the best moments in the game.

... even I wasn't all that struck on Ellie's and Joel's journey for the first couple of hours!

You say you have 'seen it all before', yet the characters and their story significantly raised the bar in this medium. Nothing really has been done quite like The Last of Us manages to convey.

Re: Mario & Luigi: Dream Team Bros. Retains Third Spot in UK Charts

Peek-a-boo

@Datasun_7 Well, coming from a Nintendo fan, I truly think it is.

You can disagree if you wish (providing you have actually played it!) however, there is nothing but universal praise for Naughty Dog's masterpiece.

Goes to show the UK public does appreciate good games (sometimes!), especially considering BioShock Infinite and Tomb Raider, to a lesser extent, have all topped the charts for a considerable number of weeks.
