Why do I have the feeling most of these games won't win....well except for the handheld division.
I can see FE:A and AC:NL, and maybe LM:DM winning something, but idk about anything else... and all of those games are handheld games so....
I'd love to vote Fire Emblem as my game of the year as it's the best game I've played on a Nintendo system in the last 12 months by far, but up against The Last of Us and Bioshock Infinite... that's a tough choice!
I really want MH3U to win an award, such a good game.
@Zyph I thought the exact same thing I voted pretty much Nintendo just to give them a chance. I think the 3ds might fair well but the last of us will probably win most if the awards
Animal Crossing: New Leaf will win the handheld division, Smash Bros. might win most anticipated, and everything else will sadly go to Bioshock Infinite/The Last of Us...
I've done my part.
Ikr? @ShadowFox254
Luigi's Dark Moon will win best handheld and Super Smash Bros. U is a good contender for Most Wanted.
I'm really glad the give Mirror of Fate some love. Such a great game, underrated by fanatics. Sad.
I had to vote for Persona 4 Golden for best handheld game, don't know why Shin Megami Tensei IV was not on the list, if it had been I would have voted for that
Zero Escape VLR is up for best story telling but not for best handheld game, unfair
Lol everyone on Nintendo life that wants to vote for a Nintendo console should all agree to vote on the same one, so it wins, so we don't split our votes between Wii U and 3DS.
Awakening for GOTY no doubt.
wow Sports Interactive for Studio of the year, amazing for a study for a great total of one franchise
The last of us will probably win it don't think it should though.
(Not the same quality the whole way through. Too many cutscenes and boring parts).
The fact that Castlevania: Lords of Shadow - Mirror of Fate is in it at all loses a huge amount of credibility for me.
The only real innovations this year has been the oculus rift and DOTA2 proving that Free to Play can be totally fine.
Hotline Miami was good. (Strange how it was in so many categories though).
As was the Walking Dead.
Fire Emblem might be great but I won't be getting it unless they do a GOTY edition. (I have played a fair few games in series and liked them up to now but the DLC situation for it and how it affects the game is not acceptable to me).
Actually I think the best game period of the last year is Super Hexagon. (Best twist on Hyper Hexagonist / Best Music). It should have been in all categories like Hotline Miami seemed to be.
It is pretty much perfect. Won't age.
Eh? Why isn't The Wonderful 101 in this? That is the most amazing visuals on the Wii U. As much as I love Pikmin, I must admit that Pikmin 3 was a huge disappointment, the game was too short and those multiplayer modes feel tacked on. Oh if only it had the after-story of Pikmin 2 and the Piklopedia it would have been perfect...
i haven't played 99% of the games on the whole roster.
Maybe like 3 games. Bioshock Infinite, Injustace and MH3U(3ds)
Of those choices, while I don't think any of them will actually win, and the Joy Stick awards are as much of a sham as the Oscars (possibly even more so), I would choose Fire Emblem: Awakening for it's great story, characters and character development, with gameplay that's improved over past versions.
Now patch the game's bugs Nintendo! The promised better after market support has basically not happened!
Very little chance for some of those games to walk away with an award if BioShock Infinite and The Last of Us are in their way...!
It's already really obvious that The Last of Us will win GotY, but I'll still vote for Fire Emblem 13. 300 hours and counting, babe!
Kinda odd Lego City is on Storytelling. I mean like, it has a giant world, and great music. It's got plenty of other good stuff in it, though I don't see it winning.
EA is nominated for studio of the year? Seriously?
Fire Emblem Awakening is hands down thee best handheld game of the year!
Well I put in my votes, also put in Smooth Mcgroove for my favorite youtuber, like his stuff!
Would like to know why we're voting for yearly awards when the year isn't even over, specifically. Nintendo's got a great line-up this winter and there are still two consoles that will release with entire launch libraries before the year is over.
Sorry Fire Emblem, but Guild Wars 2 get's my GotY vote.
Sorry Luigi's Mansion, but Fire Emblem: Awakening has my vote on everything.
Made my votes, put in some for a few Nintendo games, but my GOTY has to be BioShock Infinite. Started playing it two days ago, and a freaking love everything about it.
Fire Emblem for handheld game though, obviously hands down.
@Buzzthebatgirl I'm just playing through w101 now and love it, however the only real disappointment I have with it is the visuals! The visual style in general is lacking a dark edge and the shimmer in clothing is really irritating, great game though!
Game of the Year
"The Last Of Us" (PS3)
This amazing game deserves it! But I hope Nintendo gets something.
Fire Emblem really deserves it, But so does Last of Us. I hope MH3U wins. that was a great game.
There is a category for best youtube gamer XD i dont know any of them though
@ferthepoet I think this is a UK award, and SMTIV isn't out over here yet unfortunately so won't be eligible.
@Buzzthebatgirl I don't think Wonderful 101 has really reviewed well enough to be shortlisted for a multiformat Game of the Year award. They can only really have about 20 in there, and with a 79% metacritic I'm not sure they could justify putting it on there against games with much higher scores.
I ended up voting for Monster Hunter it was just too great a game. GOTY I chose guild wars 2 because of the massive amount of work and the final results were pretty good. I hope they get the win
I chose Nintendo for innovation and most wanted.
Nintendo never wins a thing in these awards. Maybe it wont lose mobile to an iphone app this year though...
LEGO City Undercover deserves GOTY
They should at least get awards for Best Handheld Game and Most Wanted Game. If anything o:
If "Most Wanted" were only games, I'm certain Smash Bros. would have a very good shot. However, I doubt it will beat the behemoth that is the PS4.
I kind of expect them to win best handheld game, but that's pretty much it. Heck, even that isn't anything near a lock.
@C7_
This.
How is Animal Crossing not up for Game of the Year? I'm 500 hours in and counting.
I voted for The walking dead I most categories. Best platform is 3DS tho.
THANK GOD PewDiePie wasn't in Favorite Youtuber. Really hate that guy.
@Haxonberik Nintendo did win sometimes... like in 2010 "Portable Game of the Year" (HG/SS) and in 2007 it had LoZ:TP as "Game of the Year" and the company was considered the "Publisher of the year". More times like these can come this year.
Give it a few years and nintendo will be winning more than charlie sheene.
