Physical ftw. If I'm gonna pay fullprice for a game (and admittedly I dont do that often) I want to feel like I made a nice purchase, a good deal. An attractive case and helpful, colorful manual is part of this. Skipping out on these makes me feel like I'm getting conned a little, which is why I hate "fake-manuals" (here, go to this site instead) and buying games with generic cases.
On the other hand, some games wouldn't see the light of day if they had to go through everything for a physical release and I understand and also support this path. But I don't feel like I own a digital game-because I don't, it's just a license. I can't get a refund or resell (most) licenses.
Is it a huge loss for the eShop? IDK, I was pretty neutral on the game in its Steam form, but it was a decent game and those are always welcome.
I do wonder what else Nintendo is going to block for their image and why. If they allow demos for M rated games why not allow M rated games to download on the same system?
I'll say it real quick: I want a 3D (polygonal) Pokemon on 3DS. But I'm still interested in this, and would take it over one of those stupid third versions any day. @Scarfty- Complaining about complainers isn't any cooler. At least they make a point of their opinion, you just want to shut other people up.
I'm hoping it's something new, as Grey wouldn't interest me. (Especially since I'm a latecomer to B/W and am still going through it.) Personally, something new on the 3DS would be best, but announcing a Pokemon game for VC(H) would also be cool.
@lordlz-a good point, but one that can be interpreted both ways, and we can only infere which one is true. On one hand, Nintendo possibly reached out to make sure the game got released because they "couldn't" or else XSEED saw that and asked for it and Nintendo priviledged them. On the other hand, should we be that grateful that NOA didn't do its darnedest for this game to NOT be released? It's not like it hurts them, its mutually beneficial for the game to be released.
Anyways, I'm going to try to stop debating this. The important thing is we're getting TLS sometime this year.
Technically this update has nothing, since Dillon was yesterday and separate. But I'll try and be happy with that, which I'll look at getting once reviews start circulating.
@lz- this article doesn't mention that, so its naturally many people missed that, assuming its true @siavm- OR's objective was for these games to get localized. NOA is a vessel to do so, not the objective itself. Don't be biased.
To be fair, importing from Europe is more often than not, more expensive than importing from the US. Yes, it sucks for any region who doesn't get a release. I'm just trying to figure out the rationale in it. If the PAL region doesn't get it, maybe they couldn't translate into each language? If NA doesn't get it...um...why? Sure, some games just won't sell (Captain Rainbow) but several of these releases that we have not gotten or are getting much later have no such convenient excuse.
Hes right though. @tsuchinoko Xeno we barely got, in a very small-scale way and TLS was abandoned and picked up by XSEED (kudosto them though) and this has no chance of being picked up by Nintendo. So it looks like another import. I'd like to import Fatal Frame IV since there's a great English patch, but that ones rather expensive so maybe this will be the better choice down the road.
Gotta say, I'm a fan. Trophies prompt me to play on higher difficulties and play through again, or do optional content. It can be done wrong, where it merely becomes a grind or whatever, but many of them are clever, either in name or in content, so I'd like to see Nintendo try it out in an overlapping system. (Accomplishments are a weak substitute.)
Also, has anyone else used UPlay? It's Ubisoft's "achievement system inside an achievement system" inside select games which awards U points which you CAN spend on downloads and stuff. It's pretty cool, so far.
Well, if Wario had landed today, it would have been one of the better updates in a while. However, with actual VC, an update to SMB (and people can buy it now) with the MGS3 demo, it's still a pretty good update.
Addressing Binding of Isaac: personally, I feel that the mood and story worked fine. Gameplay-wise it wasn't revolutionary (i'd give it a 6/10 on NL scale) but to each his own. Btw, its not gunk you shoot, its Isaac's tears. Hence, his suffering from the "Binding."
Looks well-made but the out-of-bounds thing has me concerned. Seems like a big turn-off, kind of like Jett Rocket's collection insistence to unlock the ending (which I never did.)
Gotta be honest, I'd prolly use this. I'm also anal about keeping people alive, but restarting levels over and over for that meant I only finished half the FE's I played. So in order to just enjoy the game, I might try this.
"lands with six augmented reality cards, but there'll be more than half a dozen available in the grand scheme of things," Comes with 6, there will be more than 6 eventually. Got it.
$1-2 for a song isn't horrible, as long as full effort was put into its presentation and layout. Any more than that would be ridiculous. Personally, I like to get a couple hours (ideally ~5) out of every $10 I spent on/in a game.
I have actually thoroughly enjoyed Skylanders (PS3) although I got a good deal on it so the money issue wasn't as big an issue. Unless you're a "trophy w---e" or a completionist, you can just have the base game and beat it just fine. But if you fall into those other camps, it might be annoying to try and find figures of all 8 types. (I did it just fine, though.)
I hope the new game comes in a minimalistic form for those of us who bought the first one, although maybe that's why they're giant, so that new stuff (portal and figure) is required. Either way, if the gameplay is as solid, I'll be considering it in the Fall.
I probably would have tried it out if it wasn't for the "unlock stars to unlock the other stages" BS. That's just a ridiculous way to stretch the game's length.
I'm happy for you Australia, I really am. "Three out of four ain't bad" except when, you know, its one of the biggest markets. But whatever, Nintendo has marched to its own drum for a long time.

Re: GAME Not Selling Mario Party 9
So they're not selling The Last Story, Mario Party 9, Mass Effect 3, anything EA for March...are they selling anything new?
At this point, the company is in denial...
Re: What's New in Mario Party 9? This Trailer Knows
I both like and am confused by this entry's changes. I like the boss fights but I worry about the cart's impact on competition.

Religion always gets people overly upset.

Re: There's Zero Escape from Aksys Games' New 3DS Adventure
24 endings is ridiculous, but I liked 999 and am excited for this
Re: Pandora's Tower Limited Edition Laid Bare
Can we please have this? Kthanksbai
Re: Nintendo Sends Out New StreetPass Puzzle
This started no.13 for me (Im missing RHR and one other) but I'm just now completing my second puzzle lol.
I put all my coins into Find Mii 2...
Re: Pokémon Black & White Version 2 Announced
I just beat White a few hours ago (on Sunday) lol
so now I'm ready for this.
But I need details. Yummy, juicy details. Like a Tauros steak. Mmmm...

Re: Pokémon Director Hypes up Sunday Announcement
A true sequel? WTF? I'm intrigued though, although I would have preferred a 3DS game, but it's still exciting.

Reggie's handwriting kinda sucks.
Heh. That is all.

Re: Now GAME Pulls The Last Story Completely
Ahaha, this is ridiculous.
I know The Last Story isn't the biggest release in the scheme of things but GAME can't keep doing this.
Buh-bye.
Re: The Last Story Coming to Wii in North America
@lordlz-
"Nintendo announced it, not XSeed. This means they had a hand in the publishing as well."
Or they paid for the event, which is about THEIR system that the game is for. Unless it is explicitly said, don't just assume NOA did anything.
Re: Marvel Pinball 3D a Separate eShop Game, not DLC
I'll prolly get one or the other down the road, but not both.

Shame on NOA for not picking it up, but whatever, I'm buying it day one.

Re: Reggie Also Presenting Nintendo Direct Tomorrow
I hope that this is some substantial news, such as an announcement of at least one big thing. (Localizing something? Pikmin or Starfox details?)
I also really hope it's 3DS or Wii based, but that's because I personally have no interest in the WiiU.
Re: Nintendo Japan Drops Wii no Ma Service
Look at all the %$#@s I give, considering it never made out of Japan.
Re: Nintendo Download: 23rd February 2012 (Europe)
I was hoping that was James Newton: The Video Game
Re: Are Bowser and Dr. Eggman in Disney's New Film?
Im calling fake until it's verified.
But it'd be neat if this winds up in the movie.
Re: Rumour: Japanese Developers Moving from Vita to 3DS
Competition is always good so I hope the Vita does decently. That said, I don't plan on getting one for a few years.

Re: New Trailer for The Last Story Teams Up for Battle
I'm getting this.
I'll import this if I have to. But it'd be nice if NOA did us a solid.
Re: North America, You Get the MGS 3D Demo Tomorrow Too
I'll be trying this out, just to make my roommate jealous, since I already have MGS3 and have gone through it twice.

Guess I'll just import it from Europe then.

Re: Review: One Piece Unlimited Cruise SP (3DS)
Half a game, good presentation, crap gameplay. Yeah a 4/10 sounds fair.
Re: Atlus Reprints Radiant Historia, Due Next Month
Shoot, I spent too much money this month...I guess I'll have to sue Wright for some money
Re: Kid Icarus AR Cards Come with a Tasty Treat
I could potentially get behind this
Re: Miyamoto Having a Ball Working on Pikmin 3
Screw that, put it on the 3DS!
Re: Nintendo Download: 9th February 2012 (North America)
Lame VCH and WW, no 3DSware, VC as usual.
So once again my money...goes elsewhere.

God, I want this. Hope NOA picks its up soon.
Or else I'll be sending a Blue Shell their way...

Re: Nicalis Announces VVVVVV for 3DS eShop
@Gemini-those "releases" hardly count for this UK-based Nintendo site then.

Re: Officially Licensed 3DS Headset Revealed, Priced and Dated
Actually looks pretty snazzy. If this is actually used in games, I'd prolly pick one up.
