Re: Feature: The Desire for Physical Media

Objection

Physical ftw. If I'm gonna pay fullprice for a game (and admittedly I dont do that often) I want to feel like I made a nice purchase, a good deal. An attractive case and helpful, colorful manual is part of this. Skipping out on these makes me feel like I'm getting conned a little, which is why I hate "fake-manuals" (here, go to this site instead) and buying games with generic cases.

On the other hand, some games wouldn't see the light of day if they had to go through everything for a physical release and I understand and also support this path. But I don't feel like I own a digital game-because I don't, it's just a license. I can't get a refund or resell (most) licenses.

Re: Nintendo Rejects The Binding of Isaac

Objection

Religion always gets people overly upset.

Is it a huge loss for the eShop? IDK, I was pretty neutral on the game in its Steam form, but it was a decent game and those are always welcome.

I do wonder what else Nintendo is going to block for their image and why. If they allow demos for M rated games why not allow M rated games to download on the same system?

Re: Pokémon Black & White Version 2 Announced

Objection

I'll say it real quick: I want a 3D (polygonal) Pokemon on 3DS.
But I'm still interested in this, and would take it over one of those stupid third versions any day.
@Scarfty- Complaining about complainers isn't any cooler. At least they make a point of their opinion, you just want to shut other people up.

Re: Pokémon Director Hypes up Sunday Announcement

Objection

I'm hoping it's something new, as Grey wouldn't interest me. (Especially since I'm a latecomer to B/W and am still going through it.)
Personally, something new on the 3DS would be best, but announcing a Pokemon game for VC(H) would also be cool.

Re: The Last Story Coming to Wii in North America

Objection

@lordlz-a good point, but one that can be interpreted both ways, and we can only infere which one is true.
On one hand, Nintendo possibly reached out to make sure the game got released because they "couldn't" or else XSEED saw that and asked for it and Nintendo priviledged them.
On the other hand, should we be that grateful that NOA didn't do its darnedest for this game to NOT be released? It's not like it hurts them, its mutually beneficial for the game to be released.

Anyways, I'm going to try to stop debating this. The important thing is we're getting TLS sometime this year.

Re: The Last Story Coming to Wii in North America

Objection

@lordlz-
"Nintendo announced it, not XSeed. This means they had a hand in the publishing as well."

Or they paid for the event, which is about THEIR system that the game is for. Unless it is explicitly said, don't just assume NOA did anything.

Re: The Last Story Coming to Wii in North America

Objection

@lz- this article doesn't mention that, so its naturally many people missed that, assuming its true
@siavm- OR's objective was for these games to get localized. NOA is a vessel to do so, not the objective itself. Don't be biased.

Re: Project Zero 2: Wii Edition Confirmed for Europe

Objection

To be fair, importing from Europe is more often than not, more expensive than importing from the US.
Yes, it sucks for any region who doesn't get a release.
I'm just trying to figure out the rationale in it. If the PAL region doesn't get it, maybe they couldn't translate into each language? If NA doesn't get it...um...why? Sure, some games just won't sell (Captain Rainbow) but several of these releases that we have not gotten or are getting much later have no such convenient excuse.

Re: Project Zero 2: Wii Edition Confirmed for Europe

Objection

Hes right though.
@tsuchinoko Xeno we barely got, in a very small-scale way and TLS was abandoned and picked up by XSEED (kudosto them though) and this has no chance of being picked up by Nintendo. So it looks like another import. I'd like to import Fatal Frame IV since there's a great English patch, but that ones rather expensive so maybe this will be the better choice down the road.

Re: Talking Point: Achievements, Trophies and Wii U

Objection

Gotta say, I'm a fan. Trophies prompt me to play on higher difficulties and play through again, or do optional content. It can be done wrong, where it merely becomes a grind or whatever, but many of them are clever, either in name or in content, so I'd like to see Nintendo try it out in an overlapping system. (Accomplishments are a weak substitute.)

Also, has anyone else used UPlay? It's Ubisoft's "achievement system inside an achievement system" inside select games which awards U points which you CAN spend on downloads and stuff. It's pretty cool, so far.

Re: Reggie Also Presenting Nintendo Direct Tomorrow

Objection

I hope that this is some substantial news, such as an announcement of at least one big thing. (Localizing something? Pikmin or Starfox details?)

I also really hope it's 3DS or Wii based, but that's because I personally have no interest in the WiiU.

Re: VVVVVV Flip Fix Submitted to Nintendo

Objection

Addressing Binding of Isaac: personally, I feel that the mood and story worked fine. Gameplay-wise it wasn't revolutionary (i'd give it a 6/10 on NL scale) but to each his own.
Btw, its not gunk you shoot, its Isaac's tears. Hence, his suffering from the "Binding."

Re: Fee Fi Fo Fum, Activision Announces Skylanders Giants

Objection

I have actually thoroughly enjoyed Skylanders (PS3) although I got a good deal on it so the money issue wasn't as big an issue. Unless you're a "trophy w---e" or a completionist, you can just have the base game and beat it just fine. But if you fall into those other camps, it might be annoying to try and find figures of all 8 types. (I did it just fine, though.)

I hope the new game comes in a minimalistic form for those of us who bought the first one, although maybe that's why they're giant, so that new stuff (portal and figure) is required. Either way, if the gameplay is as solid, I'll be considering it in the Fall.

Re: Review: Pyramids (3DSWare)

Objection

I probably would have tried it out if it wasn't for the "unlock stars to unlock the other stages" BS. That's just a ridiculous way to stretch the game's length.
